Proverbs 28:17
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ, ਕਤਲ ਕਰਨ ਕਾਰਣ ਕਸ਼ਟ ਝੱਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਮਰਨ ਤੀਕ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰੇਗਾ। ਅਜਿਹੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ।

ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਤਿੰਨ ਯਰਦਨ ਨਦੀ ਦੇ ਪੂਰਬ ਵੱਲ ਹੋਣਗੇ। ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਤਿੰਨ ਯਰਦਨ ਨਦੀ ਦੇ ਪੱਛਮ ਵੱਲ ਕਨਾਨ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੋਣਗੇ।

ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖੀਂ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਹੈ, ‘ਅਹਾਬ! ਤੂੰ ਨਾਬੋਥ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਹੁਣ ਤੂੰ ਉਸਦੀ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਹਥਿਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਦੱਸ ਦੇਵਾਂ ਕਿ ਜਿਸ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਨਾਬੋਥ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ, ਠੀਕ ਉਸੇ ਥਾਵੇਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਵੀ ਮੌਤ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ।’”

ਯਹੂਦਾ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੈਂ ਪਾਪ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਇੱਕ ਨਿਰਦੋਸ਼ ਜਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨ ਲਈ ਫ਼ੜਵਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।” ਯਹੂਦੀ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਨੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਸਾਨੂੰ ਇਸਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਪਰਵਾਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਇਹ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਮੱਸਿਆ ਹੈ, ਤੂੰ ਜਾਣ।”

ਜਦੋਂ ਉੱਥੋਂ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਆਖਣ ਲੱਗੇ, “ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਖੂਨੀ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਉਹ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਰਿਆ, ਪਰ ਦੈਵੀ ਇਨਸਾਫ਼ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਉਂਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਛੱਡਿਆ।”
