ਤਿਮੋਥਿਉਸ ਨੂੰ। ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਨਿਹਚਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਸੱਚੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਪਿਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਸੀਹ ਯਿਸੂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕਿਰਪਾ, ਮਿਹਰ ਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਰਹੇ।

ਤਿਮੋਥਿਉਸ ਦਾ ਪੌਲੁਸ ਅਤੇ ਸੀਲਾਸ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਣਾ ਪੌਲੁਸ ਦਰਬੇ ਅਤੇ ਲੁਸਤ੍ਰਾ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਿਆ। ਯਿਸੂ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਚੇਲਾ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਤਿਮੋਥਿਉਸ ਸੀ, ਉੱਥੇ ਸੀ, ਜਿਸਦੀ ਮਾਂ ਨਿਹਚਾਵਾਨ ਯਹੂਦਣ ਸੀ, ਪਰ ਉਸਦਾ ਪਿਉ ਯੂਨਾਨੀ ਸੀ।

ਇਹ ਚਿੱਠੀ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਰੋਮੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਲਿਖੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਹਨ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਲੋਕ ਹੋਣ ਲਈ ਸੱਦਿਆ ਹੈ। ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸਾਡੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਯਿਸੂ ਮਸੀਹ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ।

ਮੇਰੇ ਮਿੱਤਰੋ, ਜਦੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਬੁਰਾ ਕਰੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬਦਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਨਾ ਦੇਵੋ ਸਗੋਂ ਇੰਤਜ਼ਾਰ ਕਰੋ ਕਿ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਆਪੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਕਰੋਪੀ ਨਾਲ ਦੰਡਿਤ ਕਰੇਗਾ। ਇਹ ਲਿਖਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ; “ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਹੀ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਦੰਡਿਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਮੈਂ ਹੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਦਲਾ ਲਵਾਂਗਾ।”

ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਕੁਝ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਭਰਾਵੋ ਅਤੇ ਭੈਣੋ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਦਿਉ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਮਾਣ ਹੈ। ਜਿਵੇਂ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ ਸੀ, ਵਫ਼ਾਦਾਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਅਨੁਸਰਣ ਕਰਨਾ ਜਾਰੀ ਰੱਖੋ।

ਮਸੀਹ ਯਿਸੂ ਦਾ ਵਫ਼ਾਦਾਰ ਸਿਪਾਹੀ ਤਿਮੋਥਿਉਸ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੈਂ। ਉਸ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਰਹਿ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਮਸੀਹ ਯਿਸੂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ।
