ਮੀਕਲ ਨੇ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੂੰ ਫ਼ਟਕਾਰਿਆ ਤਦ ਦਾਊਦ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਨੂੰ ਅਸੀਸ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਮੁੜਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਪਰ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਮੀਕਲ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਲਈ ਨਿਕਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਬੋਲੀ, “ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਅੱਜ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਨਮਾਨ ਗਵਾ ਲਿਆ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਅੱਜ ਆਪਣੇ ਨੌਕਰਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਕੁੜੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਨੰਗਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕੋਈ ਬੇਸ਼ਰਮ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਨੰਗਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।”

ਉਸ ਵਕਤ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਮੀਕਲ ਬਾਰੀ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇਹ ਸਭ ਵੇਖ ਰਹੀ ਸੀ, ਜਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਦਾਊਦ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਨੱਚਦਾ-ਟੱਪਦਾ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੀ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਹਰਕਤ ਤੇ ਬੜੀ ਦੁੱਖੀ ਹੋਈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਪਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਆਪਣਾ ਮਜ਼ਾਕ ਆਪ ਬਣਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।

ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਦਾਊਦ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਨਾਲ ਨੱਚ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਲਿਨਨ ਦਾ ਏਫ਼ੋਦ ਪਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ।

ਇਸ ਲਈ ਸ਼ਕਮ ਦੇ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਨੇ ਅਬੀਮਲਕ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਦੇ 70 ਸਿੱਕੇ ਦਿੱਤੇ। ਇਹ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਬਆਲ ਬਰੀਥ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਦੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਦੀ ਸੀ। ਅਬੀਮਲਕ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਲਾਮ ਖਰੀਦਣ ਲਈ ਵਰਤਿਆ। ਇਹ ਆਦਮੀ ਬੇਕਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਲਾਪਰਵਾਹ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਵੀ ਅਬੀਮਲਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਂਦੇ।

ਜ਼ਬੂਰ 101:2

ਯਸ਼ਵਾ 24:15
“ਪਰ ਹੁਣ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਹੀ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ ਸ਼ਾਇਦ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ। ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਅੱਜ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਅਵੱਸ਼ ਚੋਣ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ। ਅੱਜ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਨਿਆਂ ਕਰਨਾ ਪਵੇਗਾ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਿਸਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰੋਂਗੇ। ਕੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰੋਂਗੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਫ਼ਰਾਤ ਨਦੀ ਦੇ ਪਰਲੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ? ਜਾਂ ਕੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਅਮੋਰੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰੋਂਗੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਇਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ? ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਚੋਣ ਖੁਦ ਕਰਨੀ ਪਵੇਗੀ। ਪਰ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਤੱਕ ਮੇਰਾ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਦਾ ਸੰਬੰਧ ਹੈ, ਅਸੀਂ ਤਾਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਾਂਗੇ!”
