ਤਾਂ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਕਿ ਜਾਕੇ ਪਤਾ ਕਰੋ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਔਰਤ ਕੌਣ ਹੈ? ਇੱਕ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਨੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਉਸ ਔਰਤ ਦਾ ਨਾਉਂ ਬਥ-ਸ਼ਬਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਅਲੀਆਮ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਹਿੱਤੀ ਦੇ ਊਰਿੱਯਾਹ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਹੈ।”

ਉਹ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਘੋੜਿਆਂ ਵਰਗੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਖਾਣ ਲਈ ਬਹੁਤ ਕੁਝ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਜਿਨਸੀ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਲਈ ਤਿਆਰ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਉਸ ਘੋੜੇ ਵਰਗੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਆਂਢੀ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਦ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।

ਲੋਕ ਗੁਪਤ ਵਿਉਂਤਾ ਬਣਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਉੱਤੇਜਨਾ ਦੀ ਅੱਗ ਨਾਲ ਬਲਦੇ ਹਨ। ਤੇ ਸਾਰੀ ਰਾਤ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਉੱਤੇਜਨਾ ਬਲਦੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਦਿਨ ਚਢ਼ਨ ਤੀਕ ਇਹ ਮੱਚਦੀ ਅੱਗ ਦੇ ਗੋਲੇ ਵਾਂਗ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।

ਉਹ ਮੰਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਕਾਮਨਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹੀ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਤਾਉਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਇੱਛਾਵਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ ਲੈ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵਰਗਲਾਉਣਗੀਆਂ।
