ਕੋੜ੍ਹੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਅਰਾਮੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਤੰਬੂ ਖਾਲੀ ਡਿੱਠਾ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ੇ ਕੋਲ ਚਾਰ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਕੋੜ੍ਹ ਨਾਲ ਪੀੜਿਤ ਸਨ। ਉਹ ਇੱਕ ਦੂਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਆਖ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ, “ਅਸੀਂ ਭਲਾ ਇੱਥੇ ਬੈਠੇ ਮੌਤ ਦੀ ਉਡੀਕ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਾਂ?

ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੂੰ ਜਵਾਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਜੇ ਉਸਦਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚਿਹਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਥੁੱਕੇ, ਕੀ ਉਹ ਸੱਤਾਂ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਤੀਕ ਸ਼ਰਮਿੰਦਾ ਹੀ ਬੈਠੀ ਰਹੇਗੀ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਤਾਂ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਲਈ ਡੇਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਜਾਣ ਦਿਉ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਬਿਮਾਰੀ ਠੀਕ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਡੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਪਸ ਆ ਸੱਕੇਗੀ।”

“ਜੇਕਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਛੂਤ ਦੀ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਭੈੜੀ ਬਿਮਾਰੀ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤਾਵਨੀ ਦੇਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਚੀ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਐਲਾਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, ‘ਨਾਪਾਕ, ਨਾਪਾਕ।’ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕੱਪੜਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਾੜ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਾਹੁਣੇ ਚਾਹੀਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਢੱਕ ਲੈਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਨਅਮਾਨ ਦਾ ਕਸ਼ਟ ਨਅਮਾਨ ਅਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਦੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਦਾ ਸੈਨਾਪਤੀ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਦਾ ਬੜਾ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਣ ਆਦਮੀ ਸੀ ਉਸਦਾ ਆਦਰ-ਮਾਨ ਉੱਥੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸੀ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਅਰਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਜਿੱਤ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਬੜਾ ਵੀਰ-ਯੋਧਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੀ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਕੋੜ੍ਹ ਦੇ ਰੋਗ ਤੋਂ ਬੜਾ ਦੁੱਖੀ ਸੀ।
੨ ਸਲਾਤੀਨ 7:4
ਸਾਮਰਿਯਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਲ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਤਾਂ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਜੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਕੇ ਮਰੀਏ, ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਮਰਨਾ ਤਾਂ ਇੱਥੇ ਵੀ ਹੈ ਹੀ, ਸੋ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਚਲੋ ਅਰਾਮੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਤੰਬੂ ’ਚ ਚਲੀਏ। ਜੇਕਰ ਉਹ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਉੱਥੇ ਜਿਉਂਦਾ ਛੱਡਣ ਤਾਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਜਿਉਂਦੇ ਰਹਾਂਗੇ ਤੇ ਜੇਕਰ ਉਹ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਸੁੱਟਣ ਤਾਂ ਮਰਨਾ ਤਾਂ ਹੈ ਹੀ ਹੈ।”

ਤਦ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ, ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਜਵਾਨ ਗੇਹਾਜੀ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ, “ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਤੂੰ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਵੱਡੇ-ਵੱਡੇ ਕੰਮ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੱਸ ਜੋ ਅਲੀਸ਼ਾ ਨੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ।”
ਯਰਮਿਆਹ 8:14
“‘ਅਸੀਂ ਇੱਥੇ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਕਿਉਂ ਬੈਠੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਾਂ? ਆਓ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵੱਲ ਨੱਸ ਚੱਲੀਏ। ਜੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਸਾਡਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦੇਣਾ ਹੀ ਲੋਚਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਆਓ ਅਸੀਂ ਓੱਥੇ ਹੀ ਮਰੀਏ। ਅਸੀਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਦ ਪਾਪ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਪੀਣ ਲਈ ਜ਼ਹਿਰ ਪਿਆਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਯਰਮਿਆਹ 27:13
ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਂਨੇਗਾ ਤਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣ ਦੀ ਤਲਵਾਰ, ਭੁੱਖ ਨਂਗ ਅਤੇ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਬਿਮਾਰੀਆਂ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਮਾਰੇ ਜਾਓਗੇ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਵਾਪਰਨਗੀਆਂ।
