14 ਯੋਸੀਯਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਹੁਲਦਾਹ ਨਬੀਆਂ ਤਦ ਹਿਲਕੀਯਾਹ ਜਾਜਕ, ਅਹੀਕਾਮ, ਅਕਬੋਰ, ਸ਼ਾਫ਼ਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਅਸਾਯਾਹ ਹੁਲਦਾਹ ਨਬੀਆਂ ਕੋਲ ਗਏ ਉਹ ਤਿਕਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਤੇ ਹਰਹਸ ਦੇ ਪੋਤਰੇ ਸੱਲੁਮ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਸੀ। ਸੱਲੁਮ ਦੇ ਕੱਪੜਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਾਂਭ-ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ। ਹੁਲਦਾਹ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਹਿੱਸੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਸੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਕੋਲ ਜਾਕੇ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ।
15 ਤਦ ਹੁਲਦਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਿਆ, “ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਇਵੇਂ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ: ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਹਿਣਾ:
16 ‘ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਇਹ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ: ਵੇਖੋ! ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਉੱਤੇ ਇੱਥੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ, ਸਾਰੇ ਕਸ਼ਟ ਲਿਆਵਾਂਗਾ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦਾ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਪੜ੍ਹੇ ਸਨ। ਜੋ ਇਸ ਪੋਥੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਖੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।
17 ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਧੂਪ ਧੁਖਾਕੇ ਉਨਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਿਤ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਬੁੱਤ ਬਣਾਏ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਥਾਵੇਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਕਰੋਪ ਦਰਸਾਵਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਤਬਾਹੀ ਦੀ ਅੱਗ ਵਰਗੀ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਬੁਝਾਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸੱਕੇਗੀ।’
18 “ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਪੁੱਛ-ਗਿੱਛ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਕੇ ਇਹ ਆਖਣਾ: ‘ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਸਭ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਆਖੀਆਂ ਜੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸੁਣੀਆਂ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਸੁਣੀਆਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਥੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਸੁਣੀਆਂ। ਇਹ ਸੁਣਕੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਦਿਲ ਪਸੀਜਿਆ ਗਿਆ। ਤੂੰ ਦੁੱਖ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਨਿਮਾਣਾ ਬਣਾਇਆ। ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਉੱਤੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਮੁਸੀਬਤਾਂ ਆਉਣਗੀਆਂ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਉਦਾਸੀ ਦਰਸਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੱਪੜੇ ਪਾੜ ਲਏ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਰੋਣ ਲੱਗ ਪਏ, ਇਸੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਸੁਣੀ।’ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਇਹ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ,
14 So Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam, and Achbor, and Shaphan, and Asahiah, went unto Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of Tikvah, the son of Harhas, keeper of the wardrobe; (now she dwelt in Jerusalem in the college;) and they communed with her.
15 And she said unto them, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Tell the man that sent you to me,
16 Thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will bring evil upon this place, and upon the inhabitants thereof, even all the words of the book which the king of Judah hath read:
17 Because they have forsaken me, and have burned incense unto other gods, that they might provoke me to anger with all the works of their hands; therefore my wrath shall be kindled against this place, and shall not be quenched.
18 But to the king of Judah which sent you to inquire of the Lord, thus shall ye say to him, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, As touching the words which thou hast heard;
19 Because thine heart was tender, and thou hast humbled thyself before the Lord, when thou heardest what I spake against this place, and against the inhabitants thereof, that they should become a desolation and a curse, and hast rent thy clothes, and wept before me; I also have heard thee, saith the Lord.

15 ਤਦ ਹੁਲਦਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਿਆ, “ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਇਵੇਂ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ: ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਹਿਣਾ:
And she said unto them, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Tell the man that sent you to me,
16 ‘ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਇਹ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ: ਵੇਖੋ! ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਉੱਤੇ ਇੱਥੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ, ਸਾਰੇ ਕਸ਼ਟ ਲਿਆਵਾਂਗਾ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦਾ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਪੜ੍ਹੇ ਸਨ। ਜੋ ਇਸ ਪੋਥੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਖੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।
Thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will bring evil upon this place, and upon the inhabitants thereof, even all the words of the book which the king of Judah hath read:
17 ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਧੂਪ ਧੁਖਾਕੇ ਉਨਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਿਤ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਬੁੱਤ ਬਣਾਏ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਥਾਵੇਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਕਰੋਪ ਦਰਸਾਵਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਤਬਾਹੀ ਦੀ ਅੱਗ ਵਰਗੀ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਬੁਝਾਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸੱਕੇਗੀ।’

18 “ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਪੁੱਛ-ਗਿੱਛ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਕੇ ਇਹ ਆਖਣਾ: ‘ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਸਭ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਆਖੀਆਂ ਜੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸੁਣੀਆਂ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਸੁਣੀਆਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਥੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਸੁਣੀਆਂ। ਇਹ ਸੁਣਕੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਦਿਲ ਪਸੀਜਿਆ ਗਿਆ। ਤੂੰ ਦੁੱਖ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਨਿਮਾਣਾ ਬਣਾਇਆ। ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਉੱਤੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਮੁਸੀਬਤਾਂ ਆਉਣਗੀਆਂ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਉਦਾਸੀ ਦਰਸਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੱਪੜੇ ਪਾੜ ਲਏ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਰੋਣ ਲੱਗ ਪਏ, ਇਸੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਸੁਣੀ।’ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਇਹ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ,
