ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੱਖੋ-ਵੱਖ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਬਣਾਏ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਕੇ ਵਸੇ ਸਨ ਹਰ ਕੌਮ ਨੇ ਸਾਮਰਿਯਾ ਦੀਆਂ ਬਣਾਈਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਉੱਚੀਆਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੰਦਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਖ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

ਦੂਜੇ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਆਪੋ-ਆਪਣੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨਦੇ ਹਨ। ਪਰ ਅਸੀਂ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ-ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਲਈ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਮੰਨਾਂਗੇ।

ਜਿਹੜੇ ਬਚਨ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹੋਂ ਬੁਲਵਾਏ ਸਨ ਉਹ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਸੱਚੇ ਅਤੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਹੋਣਗੇ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਗਵੇਦੀ ਜੋ ਬੈਤਏਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਬੁਲਵਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹੀ ਮੂੰਹੋ ਸਾਮਰਿਯਾ ਦੀਆਂ ਉੱਚੀਆਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਜੋ ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਬੁਲਵਾਇਆ।”

ਪਰਾਈਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਸੋਨੇ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਨਾਲ ਬਣੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਬੁੱਤ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਇਨਸਾਨੀ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਬਣਾਏ ਗਏ ਹਨ।

ਯਸਈਆਹ 44:9
ਝੂਠੇ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਫ਼ਜ਼ੂਲ ਹਨ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਲੋਕ ਮੂਰਤੀਆਂ ਬਣਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਬੇਕਾਰ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੂਰਤੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਮੂਰਤੀਆਂ ਬੇਕਾਰ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਮੂਰਤੀਆਂ ਖੁਦ ਸਾਬਤ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਵਿਅਰਬ ਹਨ। ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਵੇਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੱਕਦੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਮਝਦੀਆਂ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਸ਼ਰਮਸਾਰ ਹੋਣਗੇ।
ਯਰਮਿਆਹ 10:3
ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਰਹੁਰੀਤਾਂ ਨਿਕੰਮੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਬੁੱਤ ਹੀ ਹਨ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਬਣਾਏ ਨੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਬੁੱਤ ਛੋਟੀ ਜਿਹੀ ਲੱਕੜ ਹਨ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਜੰਗਲ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੱਟੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਦਜ਼ ਦਾ ਦਾ ਅਕਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ।
ਹੋ ਸੀਅ 8:5
ਹੇ ਸਾਮਰਿਯਾ! ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਵੱਛੇ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਆਖਦਾ, ‘ਮੈਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਬਹੁਤ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਹਾਂ।’ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਕਾਰਣ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਮਿਲੇਗੀ। ਇੱਕ ਕਾਰੀਗਰ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੂਰਤੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ। ਸਾਮਰਿਯਾ ਦਾ ਵੱਛਾ ਟੁਕੜੇ-ਟੁਕੜੇ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।

ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਅਬਨਾਸ਼ੀ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਸਤਿਕਾਰਨਾ ਬੰਦ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਤੇ ਇਸਦੀ ਜਗ਼੍ਹਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੂਰਤੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕਰਨੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਜੋ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਦਿਖਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪੰਛੀਆਂ, ਜਾਨਵਰਾਂ ਤੇ ਸੱਪਾਂ ਵਰਗੀਆਂ ਨਾਸ਼ਵਾਨ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਦਾ ਵਪਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ।
