੨ ਤਵਾਰੀਖ਼ 33:19
ਮਨੱਸ਼ਹ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਉਸਦੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾਵਾਂ ਕਬੂਲ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਸ ਤੇ ਰਹਿਮਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਇਹ ਸਭ ਨਬੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਪੋਥੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਰਜ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਮਨੱਸ਼ਹ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਮਰਤਾ ’ਚ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਕੀਤੇ ਸਨ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉੱਚੀਆਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਬਣਵਾਈਆਂ, ਅਤੇ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਅਸ਼ੇਰਾਹ ਦੇ ਥੰਮ ਅਤੇ ਬੁੱਤ ਸਥਾਪਿਤ ਕੀਤੇ ਸਨ ਨਬੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਪੋਥੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।

ਸਾਰੇ ਨਬੀ ਅਤੇ ਭਵਿੱਖਵਕਤਾ ਸ਼ਰਮਸਾਰ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਕੁਝ ਨਾ ਆਖਣਗੇ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਨਾ ਬੋਲੇਗਾ।
ਯਸਈਆਹ 29:10

੨ ਤਵਾਰੀਖ਼ 33:12
ਜਦੋਂ ਮਨੱਸ਼ਹ ਤੇ ਇਹ ਬਿਪਤਾ ਆ ਪਈ ਤਾਂ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਉਹ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਮਿੰਨਤ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗਾ ਕਿ ਉਸਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਕਰੇ। ਇਉਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੱਡੇਰਿਆਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਨਿਮਰਤਾ ਵਿਖਾਈ।

ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮਨੱਸ਼ਹ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਕੋਸਿਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਗੱਲ ਨਾ ਸੁਣੀ।

ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਨਬੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਪੈਗੰਬਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਇਹ ਆਖ ਕੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਤੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਚਿਤਾਵਨੀ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਭੈੜੇ ਰਾਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਮੁੜੋ। ਮੇਰੇ ਹੁਕਮਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਦਾ ਪਾਲਣ ਕਰੋ। ਉਸ ਸਾਰੀ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਦਾ ਅਨੁਸਰਣ ਕਰੋ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ, ਨਬੀਆਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ।

ਰਾਜਾ ਯਾਰਾਬੁਆਮ ਨੇ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਕੁਝ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਜੰਗਾਂ ਲੜੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਤੇ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨਾਮੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਇਤਹਾਸ ਦੀ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਖੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।

ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ “ਇਹ ਇੱਕ ਚੰਗਾ ਵਿੱਚਾਰ ਹੈ। ਚੱਲ ਚੱਲੀਏ!” ਉਹ ਉਸ ਥਾਵੇਂ ਗਏ ਜਿਸ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਆਦਮੀ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ। ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਦਾ ਨੌਕਰ ਉਤਾਂਹ ਪਹਾੜੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਨਗਰ ਨੂੰ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ। ਰਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ, ਉਹ ਕੁਝ ਮੁਟਿਆਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲੇ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਪਾਣੀ ਖਿੱਚਣ ਲਈ ਬਾਹਰ ਜਾ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਸਨ। ਨੌਕਰ ਨੇ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, “ਕੀ ਪੈਗੰਬਰ ਇੱਥੇ ਹੈ?” (ਪਹਿਲਿਆਂ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ, ਲੋਕ ਨਬੀ ਨੂੰ “ਪੈਗੰਬਰ” ਆਖਦੇ ਸਨ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਝ ਪੁੱਛਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਸਨ, ਉਹ ਆਖਦੇ ਸਨ, ਆਪਾਂ ਚੱਲ ਕੇ ਪੈਗੰਬਰ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖੀਏ।)
