ਤਦ ਆਹਾਜ਼ ਨੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਸਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੁੱਕ ਕੇ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਟੁਕੜੇ-ਟੁਕੜੇ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ੇ ਬੰਦ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਜਗਵੇਦੀਆਂ ਬਣਵਾ ਕੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੀ ਹਰ ਗਲੀ ਦੇ ਨੁਕਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਖੀਆਂ।

ਰਸੂਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਰਤੱਬ 17:16

ਪਰ ਗਿਲਆਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੋਕ ਪਾਪ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹੇ। ਉੱਥੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇੰਨੇ ਬੁੱਤ ਸਥਾਪਿਤ ਕੀਤੇ। ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਗਿਲਆਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਲਦਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਲੀਆਂ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਕਿੰਨੀਆਂ ਜਗਵੇਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਓੱਥੇ ਵਾਹੇ ਹੋਏ ਖੇਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਤਾਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਈ ਗੰਦਗੀ ਦੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ, ਜਗਵੇਦੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਕਤਾਰਾਂ ਹਨ।

ਯਰਮਿਆਹ 2:28
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬੁੱਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਕੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਨ ਦਿਓ। ਉਹ ਬੁੱਤ ਕਿੱਥੋ ਨੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਸਾਜੇ ਨੇ? ਆਓ ਦੇਖੀਏ ਕੀ ਉਹ ਬੁੱਤ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਨੇ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਉਂਦੇ ਨੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੁਸੀਬਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹੋ। ਯਹੂਦਾਹ, ਤੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਜਿੰਨੇ ਹੀ ਬੁੱਤ ਨੇ!
