ਤਾਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਲਾਹਕਾਰਾਂ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਸਲਾਹ ਲਿੱਤੀ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੀ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿੱਚਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਕੀਤੇ। ਤਾਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਸੋਨੇ ਦੇ ਦੋ ਵੱਛੇ ਬਣਾਏ। ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਯਾਰਾਬੁਆਮ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕਰਨ ਜਾਣ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਨਹੀਂ। ਵੇਖੋ, ਹੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ, ਆਪਣੇ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਮਿਸਰ ਦੇਸ ਤੋਂ ਕੱਢ ਲਿਆਏ!”

ਪਰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਫ਼ਰਤ ਕੀਤੀ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਾਸਦਾਂ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਗੁਟ ਉਸ ਆਦਮੀ ਦੇ ਮਗਰ ਦੂਜੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਭੇਜਿਆ। ਦੂਜੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਕੇ ਕਾਸਦਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਸੁਨੇਹਾ ਭੇਜਿਆ, ‘ਅਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਬਨਾਉਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ।’

ਹੋ ਸੀਅ 8:5
ਹੇ ਸਾਮਰਿਯਾ! ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਵੱਛੇ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਆਖਦਾ, ‘ਮੈਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਬਹੁਤ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਹਾਂ।’ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਕਾਰਣ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਮਿਲੇਗੀ। ਇੱਕ ਕਾਰੀਗਰ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੂਰਤੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ। ਸਾਮਰਿਯਾ ਦਾ ਵੱਛਾ ਟੁਕੜੇ-ਟੁਕੜੇ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।

ਯਸਈਆਹ 7:6
“ਸਾਨੂੰ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਲੜਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਅਸੀਂ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੰਡ ਲਵਾਂਗੇ। ਅਸੀਂ ਟਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦਾ ਨਵਾਂ ਰਾਜਾ ਬਣਾ ਦਿਆਂਗੇ।”’”

ਜ਼ਬੂਰ 33:16
ਰਾਜਾ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੀ ਵੱਡੇ ਬਲ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਚਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ। ਤਾਕਤਵਰ ਯੋਧਾ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਹੀ ਵੱਡੇ ਬਲ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਚਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ।

ਪਰਾਈਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਇੰਨੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਉਂ ਹਨ? ਉਹ ਐਸੀਆਂ ਯੋਜਨਾਵਾਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਬਣਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਹਨ?

ਹੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਕੀ ਤੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਿਆਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰੇਂਗਾ? ਉਹ ਜੋ ਵੱਡੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਸਾਡੇ ਵਿਰੋਧ ਆ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ਅਸੀਂ ਉਸਦਾ ਸਾਹਮਣਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਸਮਰੱਥ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਾਂ! ਅਸੀਂ ਲਾਚਾਰ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਕਿ ਕੀ ਕਰੀਏ? ਇਸੇ ਲਈ, ਅਸੀਂ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਮਦਦ ਮੰਗ ਰਹੇ ਹਾਂ!”

੨ ਤਵਾਰੀਖ਼ 20:6
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਸਾਡੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹੇ ਅਕਾਸ਼ਾਂ ਦੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ! ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰੀ ਸ਼੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦਾ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ! ਤੂੰ ਸਰਬ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਮਾਨ ਹੈਂ! ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੇਰਾ ਟਾਕਰਾ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਅਸਮਰੱਥ ਹੈ।

ਤਦ ਜ਼ਰਹ ਜੋ ਕੂਸ਼ੀ ਤੋਂ ਸੀ ਆਸਾ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਉੱਠਿਆ। ਉੱਸਦੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ ਕੋਲ 10,00,000 ਸੈਨਿਕ ਅਤੇ 300 ਰੱਥ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਦੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਦੂਰ ਤੱਕ ਮਾਰੇਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਤੀਕ ਗਈ।

ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਉਸਤਤ ਕਰ, ਜੋ ਤੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਿੰਘਾਸਣ ਉੱਪਰ ਬਿਠਾਇਆ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਨਿਯੁਕਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਹੋਵੇਂ। ਤੇਰਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਪੱਖ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸੇ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਠਹਿਰਾਇਆ।”

੧ ਸਲਾਤੀਨ 14:9
ਪਰ ਤੂੰ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਪਾਪ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਪਰ ਤੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੱਧੇਰੇ ਮਾੜਾ ਵਿਹਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਸਨ। ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਮੰਨਣਾ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਅਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੰਗ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੀ ਖਾਤਿਰ ਹੋਰ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਬੁੱਤ ਬਣਾਉਣੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ।
