ਤਦ ਯਹੋਯਾਦਾ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਹ ਕੰਮ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਕਰਨੇ ਹਨ। ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਤਿਹਾਈ ਸਬਤ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਕੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਮਹਿਲ ਉੱਪਰ ਪਹਿਰਾ ਦੇਣਗੇ।

ਲੋਕਾ 1:8
ਜ਼ਕਰਯਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਲਈ ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਜਕ ਦੇ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਕਾਰਜ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਉੱਥੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਸੇਵਾ ਭੇਟ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਉਪਸਥਿਤ ਸੀ।
ਹਿਜ਼ ਕੀ ਐਲ 46:2
ਹਾਕਮ ਇਸ ਫ਼ਾਟਕ ਦੇ ਵਰਾਂਡਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ਾਟਕ ਦੀ ਚੌਖਟ ਕੋਲ ਖਲੋਵੇਗਾ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਜਾਜਕ ਹਾਕਮ ਦੇ ਹੋਮ ਦੀਆਂ ਭੇਟਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸੁੱਖ-ਸਾਂਦ ਦੀਆਂ ਭੇਟਾਂ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਉਣਗੇ। ਹਾਕਮ ਫ਼ਾਟਕ ਦੀ ਸਰਦਲ ਉੱਤੇ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕਰੇਗਾ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਹ ਬਾਹਰ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਪਰ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ਾ ਸ਼ਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਬੰਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
ਹਿਜ਼ ਕੀ ਐਲ 44:2
ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਇਹ ਫ਼ਾਟਕ ਬੰਦ ਰਹੇਗਾ। ਇਹ ਖੋਲ੍ਹਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਹੋਕੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੰਘੇਗਾ। ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਲੰਘ ਚੁੱਕਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਅਵੱਸ਼ ਹੀ ਬੰਦ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ।
ਯਰਮਿਆਹ 26:10
ਹੁਣ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਹਾਕਮਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਜੋ ਇੱਥੇ ਵਾਪਰ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਸਨ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਮਹਿਲ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਆ ਗਏ। ਉਹ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਵੱਲ ਗਏ। ਉੱਥੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ੇ ਕੋਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਥਾਨ ਗ੍ਰਹਿਣ ਕਰ ਲੇ। ਨਵਾਂ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਵੱਲ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ਾ ਹੈ।
੧ ਤਵਾਰੀਖ਼ 24:3
ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਅਲਆਜ਼ਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਈਥਾਮਾਰ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਨੂੰ ਦੋ ਅਲੱਗ-ਅਲੱਗ ਸਮੂਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੰਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੋ-ਜੋ ਕੰਮ ਸੌਂਪੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਫ਼ਰਜ਼ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੰਭਾਲਣ ਅਤੇ ਕਰਨ। ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਕਾਰਜ ਸਾਦੋਕ ਅਤੇ ਅਹੀਮਲਕ ਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਨਾਲ ਕੀਤਾ। ਸਾਦੋਕ ਅਲਆਜ਼ਾਰ ਦੇ ਉੱਤਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਅਹੀਮਲਕ ਈਥਾਮਾਰ ਦੇ।

ਇਉਂ, ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਜਿੰਮੇ ਜੋ-ਜੋ ਕਾਰਜ ਲੱਗੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਾਖੂਬੀ ਕੀਤੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਤੰਬੂ ਅਤੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਸਥਾਨ ਦੀ ਦੇਖਭਾਲ ਕੀਤੀ। ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੰਬੰਧੀਆਂ (ਜਾਜਕਾਂ) ਜੋ ਕਿ ਹਾਰੂਨ ਦੇ ਉੱਤਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਦੇ ਸਨ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ-ਸੰਭਾਲ ਦੇ ਰੂਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀਤੀ।

ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ 30 ਸਾਲ ਜਾਂ 30 ਸਾਲ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਦੇ ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਗਿਣਿਆ, ਕੁਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਕੇ ਉੱਥੇ 38,000 ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਬਣੀ।
੨ ਸਲਾਤੀਨ 16:18
ਆਹਾਜ਼ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਰਾਹ ਹਟਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜੋ ਅਬਤ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਭਾਵਾਂ ਲਈ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼ ਦੁਆਰ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਲਈ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਛਤਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਆਜਿਹਾ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਅੱਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਣ ਕੀਤਾ।
੨ ਸਲਾਤੀਨ 11:19
ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਭ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਸਭ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਭਵਨ ਵੱਲ ਗਏ। ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਖਾਸ ਪਹਿਰੇਦਾਰ ਤੇ ਕਪਤਾਨ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਕੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਭੀੜ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਹੋ ਗਈ। ਉਹ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਮਹਿਲ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼ ਦੁਆਰ ਤੇ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਯੋਆਸ਼ ਸਿੰਘਾਸਣ ਤੇ ਬੈਠਾ।
੧ ਸਲਾਤੀਨ 10:5
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮੇਜ਼ ਤੇ ਪਰੋਸਿਆ ਭੋਜਨ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅਫ਼ਸਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਭਾ, ਮਹਿਲ ਦੇ ਨੌਕਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੱਪੜਿਆਂ, ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸਦੀਆਂ ਭੇਟ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਬਲੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਦਾਅਵਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਿਆ। “ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹੋਸ਼ ਉਡਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ।”
