ਦਾਊਦ ਦਾ ਅਹੀਮਲਕ ਜਾਜਕ ਵੱਲ ਜਾਣਾ ਤਦ ਦਾਊਦ ਚੱਲਾ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਯੋਨਾਥਾਨ ਵਾਪਸ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ’ਚ ਪਰਤ ਆਇਆ। ਦਾਊਦ ਨੌਬ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਹੀਮਲਕ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਜਾਜਕ ਵੱਲ ਗਿਆ। ਅਹੀਮਲਕ ਵੀ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਲਈ ਬਾਹਰ ਨਿਕਲਿਆ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਡਰ ਨਾਲ ਕੰਬ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਡਰਦਿਆਂ ਦਾਊਦ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, “ਤੂੰ ਇੱਕਲਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਹੈਂ? ਕੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਇਆ?”

ਇੱਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੀ ਜਿਸਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆਹੀਯਾਹ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ੀਲੋਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਏਲੀ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਜਾਜਕ ਠਹਿਰਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਹੁਣ ਉੱਥੇ ਆਹੀਯਾਹ ਜਾਜਕ ਸੀ। ਅਤੇ ਏਫ਼ੋਦ ਹੁਣ ਉਹ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਸੀ। ਆਹੀਯਾਹ ਅਹਿਦੂਬ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਈਕਾਬੋਦ ਦਾ ਭਰਾ ਸੀ। ਈਕਾਬੋਦ ਫ਼ੀਨਹਾਸ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ, ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ੀਨਹਾਸ ਏਲੀ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ। ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਪਤਾ ਕਿ ਯੋਨਾਥਾਨ ਚੱਲਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।

ਇਹ ਉਸ ਵਕਤ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਹੈ ਜਦੋਂ ਅਬਯਾਥਾਰ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਜਾਜਕ ਸੀ। ਉਦੋਂ ਦਾਊਦ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਵੇ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਰੋਟੀਆਂ ਖਾ ਲਈਆਂ। ਜਦ ਕਿ ਮੂਸਾ ਦਾ ਨੇਮ, ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕੇਵਲ ਜਾਜਕ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਰੋਟੀ ਖਾ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਖੁਦ ਉਹ ਰੋਟੀ ਖਾਧੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਨ।”

ਤਦ ਦੋਏਗਾ ਅਦੋਮੀ ਨੇ ਜੋ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਦੇ ਟਹਿਲੂਆਂ ਕੋਲ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਸੀ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਮੈਂ ਯੱਸੀ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਨੋਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਸੀ। ਦਾਊਦ ਅਹੀਟੂਬ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਹੀਮਲਕ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਆਇਆ ਸੀ।
