ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਕੋਲ ਇੱਕ ਸੂਰਮਾ ਸਿਪਾਹੀ ਸੀ ਜਿਸਦਾ ਨਾਉਂ ਗੋਲਿਆਥ ਸੀ, ਜੋ ਕਿ ਗਾਥੀ ਸੀ। ਗੋਲੀਆਥ ਕਰੀਬ 9 ਫੁੱਟ ਲੰਬਾ ਸੀ। ਗੋਲਿਆਥ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀ ਡੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਨਿਕਲਿਆ।
