ਪਰ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਮੈਂ, ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਉ ਦੀਆਂ ਭੇਡਾਂ ਚੁਰਾਉਂਦਾ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਇੱਕ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਅਤੇ ਰਿੱਛ ਆਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਜੜ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਭੇਡ ਲੈ ਗਿਆ।
