੧ ਸਲਾਤੀਨ 9
1 ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਕੋਲ ਦੁਬਾਰਾ ਆਉਣਾ ਇਉਂ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਮੰਦਰ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਮਹਿਲ ਬਣਾਕੇ ਮੁਕੰਮਲ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਉਹ ਬਨਾਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ।
2 ਫ਼ੇਰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਅੱਗੇ ਫਿਰ ਤੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਿਆ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਗਿਬਿਓਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ।
3 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਸੁਣੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਲਈ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਕਿਹਾ। ਤੂੰ ਇਹ ਮੰਦਰ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਅਸਥਾਨ ਘੋਸ਼ਿਤ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਇੱਥੇ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਸਤਿਕਾਰਿਆ ਜਾਵਾਂਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਰੱਖਾਂਗਾ।
4 ਤੈਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਓਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਹ ਇੱਕ ਨਿਆਂਈ ਅਤੇ ਵਫ਼ਾਦਾਰ ਆਦਮੀ ਸੀ। ਤੈਨੂੰ, ਮੇਰੇ ਕਨੂੰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹੀ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਜਿਸਦਾ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਹੁਕਮ ਦੇਵਾਂ।
5 ਜੇਕਰ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਆਖੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਕਰੇਂ, ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਉੱਪਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਜੇ ਵਜੋਂ ਰੱਖਾਂਗਾ। ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਇਕਰਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਉਤਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਉੱਪਰ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਰਾਜ ਕਰੇਗਾ।
6 “ਪਰ ਜੇਕਰ ਤੂੰ ਜਾਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਅਨੁਸਰਣ ਕਰਨਾ ਬੰਦ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਕਨੂੰਨਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਹੁਕਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਉਲੰਘਣਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕਰਨੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਤੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੋਈ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਖੋਹ ਲਵਾਂਗਾ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਇੱਕ ਉਦਾਹਰਣ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਦਰਮਿਆਨ ਮਖੌਲ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਣ ਬਣ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਮੈਂ ਮੰਦਰ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਉਹ ਥਾਂ ਹੈ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਲੋਕ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਤਿਕਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਪਰ ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਲੋਕ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੰਨੋਗੇ,ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਢਾਹ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ।
7 ਇਹ ਮੰਦਰ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਤੇ ਹਰ ਲੰਘਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਕੇ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਆਖਣਗੇ ਕਿ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਤੇ ਇਸ ਮੰਦਰ ਨਾਲ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਕੀਤਾ?
8 ਤਾਂ ਬਾਕੀ ਆਖਣਗੇ, ‘ਇਉਂ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਹੋਇਆ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਇੱਥੋਂ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਸਰ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੱਢ ਕੇ ਲਿਆਇਆ ਸੀ, ਪਰ ਉਹ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗ ਪਏ। ਇਸ ਲਈ, ਇਸੇ ਕਾਰਣ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਸਭ ਮੰਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵਾਪਰਨ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ।’”
9 ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਮੰਦਰ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਮਹਿਲ ਬਨਾਉਣ ਵਿੱਚ 20 ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਲੱਗੇ।
10 ਅਤੇ 20 ਸਾਲਾਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਹੀਰਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਗਲੀਲ ਦੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ 20 ਨਗਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਸੂਰ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਹੀਰਾਮ ਨੇ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਦਿਆਰ ਦੇ ਰੁੱਖ, ਚੀਲ ਦੇ ਰੁੱਖ ਅਤੇ ਸੋਨਾ ਜਿੰਨਾ ਉਹਨੂੰ ਲੋੜੀਦਾ ਸੀ, ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ।
11 ਤਦ ਹੀਰਾਮ ਸੂਰ ਤੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਗਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਸਨ ਵੇਖਣ ਲਈ ਆਇਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੇ ਨਾ ਲੱਗੇ,
12 ਤਾਂ ਹੀਰਾਮ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਈ! ਇਹ ਕਿਹੋ ਜਿਹੇ ਨਗਰ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ?” ਸੋ ਉਸ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਨੂੰ ਹੀਰਾਮ ਨੇ ਕਾਬੂਲ ਆਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਅੱਜ ਵੀ ਉਸ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਬੂਲ ਹੀ ਆਖਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
13 ਹੀਰਾਮ ਨੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਲਈ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਨੂੰ 4,080 ਕਿਲੋ ਸੋਨਾ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਸੀ।
14 ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਮੰਦਰ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਮਹਿਲ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਜ਼ੋਰ-ਜ਼ਬਰ ਕਰਕੇ ਬਣਵਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਬੜੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਵਾਏ, ਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਕੁਝ ਬਣਵਾਇਆ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮਿੱਲੋ ਬਣਵਾਇਆ ਤੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੀ ਸਫੀਲ ਦੇ ਹਾਸ਼ੋਰ ਤੇ ਮਗਿੱਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਗਜਰ ਵੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਣਵਾਏ।
15 ਪਿੱਛਲੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਿਸਰ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਆਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਗਜਰ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗ ਨਾਲ ਸਾੜ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਨਾਨੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਸਨ, ਵੱਢ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਆਪਣੀ ਧੀ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਕਿ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਦੀ ਰਾਣੀ ਸੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਦਾਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
16 ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਨੇ ਉਸਰ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਨੂੰ ਦੁਬਾਰਾ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਦੇ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਹੇਠਲਾ ਬੈਤ ਹੋਰੋਨ ਵੀ ਬਣਾਇਆ।
17 ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਬਆਲਾਬ ਅਤੇ ਤਦਮੋਰ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਉਜਾੜ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਨ ਵੀ ਬਣਾਏ।
18 ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਨਗਰ ਵੀ ਬਣਾਏ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਉਹ ਦਾਣੇ ਜਮ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਰ ਸੱਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਰੱਥਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਘੋੜਿਆਂ ਲਈ ਵੀ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਬਣਾਈਆਂ। ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਬਣਾਈਆਂ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਅਤੇ ਲਬਾਨੋਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਜਿੱਥੇ-ਜਿੱਥੇ ਵੀ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਰਾਜ ਕੀਤਾ, ਬਣਵਾਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ।
19 ਉਸ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਤੇ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਲੋਕ ਵੀ ਸਨ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਨ। ਇਹ ਲੋਕ ਅਮੋਰੀਆਂ, ਹਿੱਤੀਆਂ, ਫ਼ਰਿੱਜ਼ੀਆਂ, ਹਿੱਵੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਯਬੂਸੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਸਨ।
20 ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਬਾਹ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਫ਼ਲ ਨਾ ਹੋ ਸੱਕੇ ਪਰ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਦਾਸ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਜ਼ਬਰ ਨਾਲ ਕੰਮ ਲਿਆ, ਜੋ ਕਿ ਅੱਜ ਦਿਨ ਤੱਕ ਵੀ ਗੁਲਾਮ ਬਣਕੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
21 ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਨੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀ ਨੂੰ ਜ਼ਬਰ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣਾ ਗੁਲਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਸਗੋਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ, ਸਿਪਾਹੀਆਂ, ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਮੁਲਾਜ਼ਮਾਂ, ਕਪਤਾਨਾਂ, ਚਾਲਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਰੱਥ ਵਾਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਹੁਦੇ ਉੱਪਰ ਸਨ।
22 ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਦੀ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਉੱਪਰ 550 ਮੁਖੀਏ ਸਨ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਉੱਪਰ ਨਿਗਰਾਨੀ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਸਨ।
23 ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਤੋਂ, ਉਸ ਮਹਿਲ ਨੂੰ ਆਈ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਲਈ ਬਣਵਾਇਆ ਸੀ, ਫ਼ੇਰ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਨੇ ਮਿੱਲੋ ਬਣਵਾਇਆ।
24 ਸਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਿੰਨ ਵਾਰੀ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਹੋਮ ਦੀਆਂ ਭੇਟਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸੁੱਖ ਸਾਂਦ ਦੀਆਂ ਭੇਟਾਂ ਉਸ ਜਗਵੇਦੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਲਈ ਬਣਾਈ, ਚੜ੍ਹਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਜਗਵੇਦੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਸੀ, ਧੂਪ ਧੁਖਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ। ਸੋ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਕੰਮਲ ਕੀਤਾ।
25 ਰਾਜੇ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਨੇ ਅਸਿਓਨ ਗਬਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਬਣਵਾਏ। ਇਹ ਨਗਰ ਅਦੋਮ ਜਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਏਲੋਥ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਲਾਲ ਸਾਗਰ ਦੇ ਕੰਢੇ ਤੇ ਸੀ।
26 ਅਤੇ ਹੀਰਾਮ ਨੇ ਬੇੜੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਿਆਣੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਜੋ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਸਿਆਣੇ ਮੱਲਾਹ ਸਨ, ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਦੇ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਭੇਜੇ।
27 ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਦੇ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਓਫ਼ੀਰ ਵੱਲ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਉੱਥੋਂ 14,280 ਕਿਲੋ ਸੋਨਾ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਲਈ ਲਿਆਏ।
1 And it came to pass, when Solomon had finished the building of the house of the Lord, and the king’s house, and all Solomon’s desire which he was pleased to do,
2 That the Lord appeared to Solomon the second time, as he had appeared unto him at Gibeon.
3 And the Lord said unto him, I have heard thy prayer and thy supplication, that thou hast made before me: I have hallowed this house, which thou hast built, to put my name there for ever; and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually.
4 And if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded thee, and wilt keep my statutes and my judgments:
5 Then I will establish the throne of thy kingdom upon Israel for ever, as I promised to David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man upon the throne of Israel.
6 But if ye shall at all turn from following me, ye or your children, and will not keep my commandments and my statutes which I have set before you, but go and serve other gods, and worship them:
7 Then will I cut off Israel out of the land which I have given them; and this house, which I have hallowed for my name, will I cast out of my sight; and Israel shall be a proverb and a byword among all people:
8 And at this house, which is high, every one that passeth by it shall be astonished, and shall hiss; and they shall say, Why hath the Lord done thus unto this land, and to this house?
9 And they shall answer, Because they forsook the Lord their God, who brought forth their fathers out of the land of Egypt, and have taken hold upon other gods, and have worshipped them, and served them: therefore hath the Lord brought upon them all this evil.
10 And it came to pass at the end of twenty years, when Solomon had built the two houses, the house of the Lord, and the king’s house,
11 (Now Hiram the king of Tyre had furnished Solomon with cedar trees and fir trees, and with gold, according to all his desire,) that then king Solomon gave Hiram twenty cities in the land of Galilee.
12 And Hiram came out from Tyre to see the cities which Solomon had given him; and they pleased him not.
13 And he said, What cities are these which thou hast given me, my brother? And he called them the land of Cabul unto this day.
14 And Hiram sent to the king sixscore talents of gold.
15 And this is the reason of the levy which king Solomon raised; for to build the house of the Lord, and his own house, and Millo, and the wall of Jerusalem, and Hazor, and Megiddo, and Gezer.
16 For Pharaoh king of Egypt had gone up, and taken Gezer, and burnt it with fire, and slain the Canaanites that dwelt in the city, and given it for a present unto his daughter, Solomon’s wife.
17 And Solomon built Gezer, and Beth-horon the nether,
18 And Baalath, and Tadmor in the wilderness, in the land,
19 And all the cities of store that Solomon had, and cities for his chariots, and cities for his horsemen, and that which Solomon desired to build in Jerusalem, and in Lebanon, and in all the land of his dominion.
20 And all the people that were left of the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites, which were not of the children of Israel,
21 Their children that were left after them in the land, whom the children of Israel also were not able utterly to destroy, upon those did Solomon levy a tribute of bondservice unto this day.
22 But of the children of Israel did Solomon make no bondmen: but they were men of war, and his servants, and his princes, and his captains, and rulers of his chariots, and his horsemen.
23 These were the chief of the officers that were over Solomon’s work, five hundred and fifty, which bare rule over the people that wrought in the work.
24 But Pharaoh’s daughter came up out of the city of David unto her house which Solomon had built for her: then did he build Millo.
25 And three times in a year did Solomon offer burnt offerings and peace offerings upon the altar which he built unto the Lord, and he burnt incense upon the altar that was before the Lord. So he finished the house.
26 And king Solomon made a navy of ships in Ezion-geber, which is beside Eloth, on the shore of the Red sea, in the land of Edom.
27 And Hiram sent in the navy his servants, shipmen that had knowledge of the sea, with the servants of Solomon.
28 And they came to Ophir, and fetched from thence gold, four hundred and twenty talents, and brought it to king Solomon.

1 ਯਿਸੂ ਦਾ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਵਾਲਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ “ਦੂਜੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਿਰਨਾ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਨਿਰਨਾ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
Judge not, that ye be not judged.
2 ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਦੂਸਰਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਨਿਰਨਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋ ਤਾਂ ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਵੀ ਨਿਰਨਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਅਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਮਾਪ ਨਾਲ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਦੂਸਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਣਦੇ ਹੋ, ਉਸੇ ਨਾਲ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਮਿਣਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
3 “ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਰਾ ਦੀ ਅੱਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ ਧੂੜ ਦੇ ਕਣ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਵੇਖ ਸੱਕਦੇ ਹੋਂ ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਅੱਖ ਵਿੱਚਲੇ ਸ਼ਤੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੇਖਦੇ।
And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
4 ਜਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਰਾ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਆਖ ਸੱਕਦੇ ਹੋਂ, ‘ਲਿਆ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਅੱਖ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਧੂੜ ਦੇ ਕਣ ਨੂੰ ਕੱਢਾਂ’ ਜਦ ਕਿ ਹਾਲੇ ਵੀ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਅੱਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਤੀਰ ਹੈ?
Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
5 ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਪਟੀ ਹੋ, ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਉਸ ਸ਼ਤੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਅੱਖ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੱਢੋ ਤਾਂ ਹੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਕਣ ਨੂੰ ਕੱਢਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਸਪੱਸ਼ਟ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਵੇਖ ਸੱਕਦੇ ਹੋਂ।
Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.
6 “ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਵਸਤਾਂ ਕੁੱਤਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਪਾਓ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਮੁੜ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਵੱਢਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮੋਤੀ ਸੂਰਾਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਨਾ ਸੁੱਟੋ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਹੇਠ ਮਿਧ ਦੇਣਗੇ।
Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.
7 ਜੋ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਮੰਗਣਾ ਜਾਰੀ ਰੱਖੋ “ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੰਗਦੇ ਰਹੋਂਗੇ ਤਾਂ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਵੋਂਗੇ। ਲੱਭੋ, ਤਾਂ ਲੱਭੇਗਾ। ਖੜਕਾਓ, ਤਾਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ਾ ਖੋਲ੍ਹਿਆ ਜਵੇਗਾ।
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
8 ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਹਰੇਕ ਮੰਗਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਢੂੰਢਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਭਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਖੜਕਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਲਈ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ਾ ਖੋਲ੍ਹਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
9 “ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕਿਹੜਾ ਐਸਾ ਹੈ, ਕਿ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਰੋਟੀ ਮੰਗੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੱਥਰ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ?
Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
10 ਜੇਕਰ ਉਹ ਇੱਕ ਮੱਛੀ ਮੰਗੇ, ਤਾਂ ਕੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਪ ਦੇਵੋਂਗੇ?
Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
11 ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇੰਨੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਹੋਕੇ ਵੀ, ਆਪਣੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੀਆਂ ਦਾਤਾਂ ਦੇਣੀਆਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹੋ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਸੁਰਗੀ ਪਿਤਾ, ਮੰਗਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ, ਕਿੰਨੀਆਂ ਵੱਧ ਚੰਗੀਆਂ ਦਾਤਾਂ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ?
If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
12 ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਅਸੂਲ “ਇਸ ਲਈ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹੋ ਕਿ ਲੋਕ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਕਰਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵੀ ਉਵੇਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਹੀ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰੋ। ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮੂਸਾ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰ੍ਹਾ ਅਤੇ ਨਬੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਲਿਖਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਇਹੋ ਨਚੋੜ ਹੈ।
Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
13 ਸੁਰਗ ਦਾ ਮਾਰਗ ਅਤੇ ਨਰਕ ਦਾ ਮਾਰਗ “ਤੁਸੀਂ ਭੀੜੇ ਫਾਟਕ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਵੜੋ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਇਹ ਰਾਹ ਸਵਰਗ ਨੂੰ ਖੁਲ੍ਹਦਾ ਹੈ। ਨਰਕ ਦਾ ਰਾਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਖੁਲ੍ਹਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸੁਖਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਤਬਾਹੀ ਵੱਲ ਲਿਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਥਾਣੀਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਲੋਕ ਅੰਦਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
14 ਪਰ ਉਹ ਫਾਟਕ ਬੜਾ ਭੀੜਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਔਖਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਸੱਚੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਵੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਅਤੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਭਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਵਿਰਲੇ ਹਨ।
Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
15 ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਹੁਸ਼ਿਆਰ ਰਹੋ “ਝੂਠੇ ਨਬੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਹੁਸ਼ਿਆਰ ਰਹੋ, ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਕੋਲ ਭੇਡਾਂ ਦੇ ਭੇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਅਸਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਖਤਰਨਾਕ ਬਘਿਆੜਾਂ ਵਰਗੇ ਹਨ।
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
16 ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਫ਼ਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਛਾਣੋਂਗੇ। ਚੰਗੇ ਕੰਮ ਭੈੜੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕੰਡਿਆਲੀਆਂ ਝਾੜੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਅੰਗੂਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਭਖੜ੍ਹੇ ਤੇ ਅੰਜੀਰ ਉਗਦੇ ਹਨ।
Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
17 ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹਰੇਕ ਚੰਗਾ ਬਿਰਛ ਚੰਗਾ ਫ਼ਲ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਮਾੜਾ ਬਿਰਛ ਮਾੜਾ ਫ਼ਲ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18 ਚੰਗਾ ਬਿਰਛ ਬੁਰਾ ਫ਼ਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਮਾੜਾ ਬਿਰਛ ਚੰਗਾ ਫ਼ਲ ਦੇ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
19 ਹਰੇਕ ਬਿਰਛ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਚੰਗਾ ਫ਼ਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਵੱਢਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਅੱਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
20 ਇਸ ਲਈ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਫ਼ਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਛਾਨਣ ਯੋਗ ਹੋਵੋਂਗੇ।
Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
21 “ਉਹ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਕਿ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ, ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਵਰਗ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੜੇਗਾ। ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਉਹੀ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਵਰਗ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 ਅੰਤਲੇ ਦਿਨ, ਅਨੇਕ ਲੋਕ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਖਣਗੇ, ‘ਤੂੰ ਸਾਡਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੈ। ਅਸੀਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਬੋਲੇ? ਅਤੇ ਕੀ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਭੂਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੱਢੇ ਅਤੇ ਕੀ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਕਰਾਮਾਤਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ?’
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 ਤਦ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਫ਼ ਆਖਾਂਗਾ, ‘ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਹੇ ਬੁਰਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਓ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਚੱਲੇ ਜਾਓ।’
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
24 ਸਿਆਣਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਅਤੇ ਮੂਰਖ ਮਨੁੱਖ “ਹਰੇਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਇਹ ਬਚਨ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੱਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਬੁੱਧਿਮਾਨ ਵਰਗਾ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਚੱਟਾਨ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਘਰ ਬਣਾਇਆ।
Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
25 ਮੀਂਹ ਵਰ੍ਹਿਆ, ਹੜ੍ਹ ਆਏ ਅਤੇ ਹਨੇਰੀਆਂ ਵਗੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਨੂੰ ਧੱਕਾ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਨਾ ਡਿੱਗਿਆ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਸਦੀ ਨੀਹ ਚੱਟਾਨ ਉੱਤੇ ਧਰੀ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ।
And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
26 “ਹਰੇਕ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਇਹ ਬਚਨ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੰਨਦਾ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਮੂਰਖ ਆਦਮੀ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਆਪਣਾ ਘਰ ਰੇਤ ਤੇ ਬਣਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
27 ਅਤੇ ਮੀਂਹ ਵਰ੍ਹਿਆ, ਹੜ੍ਹ ਆਏ, ਹਨੇਰੀਆਂ ਵਗੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਘਰ ਨੂੰ ਧੱਕਾ ਵੱਜਾ ਅਤੇ ਘਰ ਇੱਕ ਉੱਚੀ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਨਾਲ ਢਹਿ ਗਿਆ।”
And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
28 ਜਦੋਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਆਖ ਹਟਿਆ, ਤਾਂ ਲੋਕ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਹੋ ਗਏ।
And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine:
29 ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇਮ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਕਾਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਨਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸਗੋਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵਾਂਗ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਿਸ ਕੋਲ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਸੀ।
For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.
