ਤਦ ਰਾਜੇ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਯਾਦਾ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਬਨਾਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਆਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਤਾਂ ਬਨਾਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਅਦੋਨੀਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

ਫ਼ੇਰ ਗਿਦਾਊਨ ਯਥਰ ਵੱਲ ਮੁੜਿਆ। ਯਥਰ ਗਿਦਾਊਨ ਦਾ ਪਹਿਲੋਠਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ। ਗਿਦਾਊਨ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਤਲ ਕਰ ਦੇ।” ਪਰ ਯਥਰ ਹਾਲੇ ਬੱਚਾ ਹੀ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਡਰਦਾ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਕੱਢਦਾ।

ਪਰ ਸਮੂਏਲ ਨੇ ਅਗਾਗ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਤੇਰੀ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਨੇ ਮਾਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਲਾਲ ਖੋਹ ਲਏ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਹੁਣ ਤੇਰੀ ਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਵੀ ਕੋਈ ਔਲਾਦ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ।” ਸਮੂਏਲ ਨੇ ਗਿਲਗਾਲ ਦੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਅਗਾਗ ਦੇ ਟੁਕੜੇ-ਟੁਕੜੇ ਕਰਕੇ ਰੱਖ ਦਿੱਤੇ।

ਤਦ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਅਮਾਲੇਕੀ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਆਪ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰ ਹੈਂ। ਤੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਚੁਣੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਨੋ ਮਾਰਿਆ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਤੇਰੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਕਹੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਇਹ ਸਿੱਧ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਉਸਦਾ ਕਾਤਲ ਹੈਂ।” ਤਦ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਇੱਕ ਜੁਆਨ ਸੇਵਕ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾ ਕੇ ਅਮਾਲੇਕੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਸੁੱਟਣ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਅਮਾਲੇਕੀ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਢ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ।

ਤਾਂ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਨੌਜੁਆਨ ਸਿਪਾਹੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੇਕਾਬ ਅਤੇ ਬਆਨਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਢ ਦੇਣ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਰੇਕਾਬ ਅਤੇ ਬਆਨਾਹ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ-ਪੈਰ ਵੱਢਕੇ ਹਬਰੋਨ ਦੇ ਤਲਾਬ ਉੱਤੇ ਲਮਕਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਈਸ਼ਬੋਸ਼ਥ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਹਬਰੋਨ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚਕਾਰ ਅਬਨੇਰ ਦੀ ਕਬਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦਫ਼ਨਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

ਤਦ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਬਨਾਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਜਿਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਕਰ! ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਥੇ ਹੀ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਦੱਬ ਦੇ। ਫੇਰ ਮੈਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਯੋਆਬ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਬਹਾਏ ਬੇਕਸੂਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਖੂਨ ਤੋਂ ਮੁਕਤ ਹੋਵਾਂਗੇ।

ਤਦ ਯਹੋਯਾਦਾ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਬਨਾਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਯੋਆਬ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਜਾੜ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਕੋਲ ਦੱਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ।

ਫੇਰ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਯਾਦਾ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਬਨਾਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਿਮਈ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨ ਦਾ ਆਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇੰਝ ਹੀ ਕੀਤਾ। ਹੁਣ, ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਰਾਜ ਉੱਪਰ ਪੂਰਾ ਨਿਯੰਤ੍ਰਣ ਸੀ।
