ਅਦੋਨੀਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸ਼ੂਨੰਮੀ ਦੀ ਅਬੀਸ਼ਗ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰ ਲੈਣ ਲਈ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਖੋ, ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਜੋ ਵੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਮੰਗੋਂਗੇ ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰੇਗਾ।”

ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨੌਕਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਅਸੀਂ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਰੱਖਣ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਕੁਆਰੀ ਮੁਟਿਆਰ ਲੱਭਾਂਗੇ। ਉਹ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਨਿੱਘਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਤੇਰੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਤੇ ਸੌਂ ਸੱਕੇਗੀ।”
