ਅਦੋਨੀਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਸਰੂਯਾਹ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਰੂਯਾਹ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯੋਆਬ ਅਤੇ ਅਬਯਾਥਾਰ ਜਾਜਕ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੋਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਵਾਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਥਾਪਣ ਲਈ ਮਦਦ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਫ਼ੈਸਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ।

| following they and | הַכֹּהֵ֑ן | hakkōhēn | ha-koh-HANE |
| Adonijah | וַֽיַּעְזְר֔וּ | wayyaʿzĕrû | va-ya-zeh-ROO |
| helped | אַֽחֲרֵ֖י | ʾaḥărê | ah-huh-RAY |
