ਅਦੋਨੀਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਤੈਨੂੰ ਪਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇੱਕ ਸਮੇਂ ਇਹ ਰਾਜ ਮੇਰਾ ਸੀ, ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀ ਸੋਚਦੇ ਸਨ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਹਾਂ, ਪਰ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਬਦਲ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਹੁਣ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਰਾਜ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਰਾ ਕੋਲ ਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।

ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਾਤ ਬਖਸ਼ੀ ਹੈ। ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਨਵਾਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਚੁਣਿਆ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਸੱਚਮੁੱਚ ਹੀ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਰਾਜ ਹੈ।
੧ ਤਵਾਰੀਖ਼ 22:9
ਪਰ ਤੇਰੇ ਘਰ ਇੱਕ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਜੋ ਅਮਨ ਪਸੰਦ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਦਾ ਸਮਾਂ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚੌਗਿਰਦੇ ’ਚ ਪਸਰੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਰੇਸ਼ਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਨੂੰ ਸੁੱਖ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਤੇ ਅਮਨ ਦਾ ਰਾਜ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ।

ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਅੱਜ ਉਹ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਵਾਦੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸੁੱਖ-ਸਾਂਦ ਦੀਆਂ ਭੇਟਾਂ ਵਜੋਂ ਢੇਰ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਗਊਆਂ, ਮੋਟੇ-ਵੱਛੇ ਅਤੇ ਭੇਡਾਂ ਬਲੀ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਈਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਬਾਕੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ, ਸੈਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੈਨਾਪਤੀਆਂ, ਅਤੇ ਅਬਯਾਥਾਰ ਜਾਜਕ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਦਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਹੁਣ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਖਾ-ਪੀ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਆਖ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ‘ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਅਦੋਨੀਯਾਹ ਤੂੰ ਜਿਉਂਦਾ ਰਹੇਁ।’

ਦਾਊਦ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਦੋਨੀਯਾਹ ਉਸਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਹਗੀਥ ਤੋਂ ਸੀ, ਉਹ ਸ਼ੇਖੀ ਮਾਰਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਰਾਜਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਰੱਥ, ਘੋੜੇ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਰੱਥ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਭੱਜਣ ਲਈ 50 ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਲਿਆ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਆਖਕੇ ਕਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੁਧਾਰਿਆ, “ਤੂੰ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ?” ਉਹ ਅਬਸ਼ਾਲੋਮ ਦੇ ਜਨਮ ਤੋਂ ਮਗਰੋਂ ਜਨਮਿਆ ਸੀ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਵਾਂਗੇ ਹੀ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਸੀ।
ਦਾਨੀ ਐਲ 2:22
ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਗੁਝ੍ਝੇ ਭੇਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ, ਸਮਝਣਾ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਿਲ ਹੈ। ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਰੌਸ਼ਨੀ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਦੇ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਕਿ ਕੀ ਹੈ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਪਤ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ!
ਯਰਮਿਆਹ 27:5
ਮੈਂ ਧਰਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਜਿਆ ਸੀ। ਮੈਂ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤਲੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਾਨਵਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਜਿਆ ਸੀ। ਇਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਕੁਝ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਤਾਕਤਵਰ ਹੱਥ ਨਾਲ ਕੀਤਾ। ਮੈਂ ਜਿਸ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਹਾਂ ਇਹ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਅਮਸਾਲ 21:30
ਕੋਈ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਸਿਆਣਪ, ਅੰਤਰ-ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ, ਜਾਂ ਸਲਾਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਕਾਮਯਾਬ ਹੋ ਸੱਕੇ।

ਹੂਸ਼ਈ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵੱਲ ਹਾਂ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਚੁਣਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਚੁਣਿਆ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਰਹਾਂਗਾ।

ਦਾਊਦ ਨੂੰ ਅਬਸ਼ਾਲੋਮ ਦੀ ਵਿਉਂਤ ਬਾਰੇ ਖਬਰ ਹੋਣਾ ਤਦ ਇੱਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੂੰ ਆਕੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ, “ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਅਬਸ਼ਾਲੋਮ ਦੇ ਮਗਰ ਲੱਗੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।”

ਸੋ ਅਬਸ਼ਾਲੋਮ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੋ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਕੋਲ ਪੁਕਾਰ ਕਰਨ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਸਨ, ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਵੇਂ ਅਬਸ਼ਾਲੋਮ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਮੋਹ ਲਏ।

ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਤਦ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਬਥ-ਸ਼ਬਾ ਨੂੰ ਹੌਂਸਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਸੁੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਸੰਭੋਗ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਤੋਂ ਗਰਭਵਤੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਮੁੜ ਤੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਲੜਕੇ ਨੇ ਜਨਮ ਲਿਆ। ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਰੱਖਿਆ। ਉਹ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਸੀ।

“‘ਜਦੋਂ ਤੂੰ ਮਰੇਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਦਫ਼ਨਾਇਆ ਜਾਵੇਂਗਾ ਤਦ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਇੱਕ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਜਾ ਬਣਾਵਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਉਸਦਾ ਰਾਜ ਸਥਾਪਿਤ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ।
