Matthew 3
1 ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ, ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨੇ ਯਹੂਦਿਯਾ ਦੇ ਉਜਾੜ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਕਰਨਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤਾ।
2 ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਆਪਣੇ ਦਿਲ ਅਤੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਬਦਲੋ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਸੁਰਗ ਦਾ ਰਾਜ ਜਲਦੀ ਹੀ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।”
3 ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਉਹੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਸਦੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਯਸਾਯਾਹ ਨਬੀ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਬਾਨੀ ਆਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਯਸਾਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ: “ਉਜਾੜ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹੋਕਾ ਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ: ‘ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਲਈ ਰਸਤੇ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰੋ; ਉਸ ਦੇ ਰਾਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਧਿਆਂ ਕਰੋ।’”
4 ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਦੇ ਕੱਪੜੇ ਊਂਠ ਦੇ ਵਾਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਣੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਚੰਮ ਦੀ ਪੇਟੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਲੱਕ ਦੇ ਦੁਆਲੇ ਸੀ। ਅਤੇ ਉਸਦਾ ਭੋਜਨ ਟਿੱਡੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਜੰਗਲੀ ਸ਼ਹਿਤ ਸੀ।
5 ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ, ਸਾਰੇ ਯਹੂਦਿਯਾ ਅਤੇ ਯਰਦਨ ਨਦੀ ਦੇ ਆਸੇ-ਪਾਸੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਭ ਲੋਕ ਉਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਸੁਣਨ ਲਈ ਆਏ।
6 ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਾਪ ਕਬੂਲ ਕੀਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਰਦਨ ਨਦੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
7 ਪਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਫ਼ਰੀਸੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਦੂਕੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬਥੇਰੇ ਉਸ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਲੈਣ ਆਏ ਹਨ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੱਪ ਹੋ! ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਕਰੋਪ ਤੋਂ ਭੱਜਣਾ ਕਿਸਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਹੈ?
8 ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਨੀਆਂ ਚਾਹੀਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਇਹ ਦਰਸ਼ਾ ਸੱਕੋਂ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਅਤੇ ਮਨ ਬਦਲ ਲਏ ਹਨ।
9 ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਤੇ ਮਾਣ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਨਾ ਸੋਚੋ, ‘ਅਸੀਂ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਦੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਹਾਂ।’ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਲਈ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪੱਥਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬੱਚੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
10 ਰੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਡੇਗਣ ਲਈ ਕੁਹਾੜਾ ਤਿਆਰ ਹੈ, ਹਰ ਉਹ ਰੁੱਖ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਚੰਗਾ ਫਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੰਦਾ, ਵੱਢਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਅੱਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁੱਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
11 “ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਮਨ ਅਤੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਬਦਲਣ ਲਈ ਪਾਣੀ ਨਾਲ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਪਰ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿੱਛੋਂ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਮਹਾਨ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਉਸਦੀ ਜੁੱਤੀ ਚੁੱਕਣ ਦੇ ਵੀ ਯੋਗ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਾਂ। ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਆਤਮਾ ਅਤੇ ਅੱਗ ਨਾਲ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ।
12 ਉਸਦੀ ਤੰਗਲੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਕਣਕ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੜੀ ਤੋਂ ਅਲੱਗ ਕਰੇਗਾ। ਉਹ ਕਣਕ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਠੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਮਾ ਕਰੇਗਾ। ਉਹ ਤੂੜੀ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਅੱਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾੜੇਗਾ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਬੁਝਾਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸੱਕਦੀ।”
13 ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਨੇ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਫੇਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਤੋਂ ਯਰਦਨ ਨਦੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਲੈਣ ਲਈ ਗਲੀਲ ਤੋਂ ਆਇਆ।
14 ਪਰ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਕਹਿ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਕਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ, “ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤਾਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਲੈਣ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੈ। ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਕਿਉਂ ਆਇਆ ਹੈਂ?”
15 ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਵਾਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਹੁਣ ਤੂੰ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਇੰਝ ਹੀ ਹੋਣ ਦੇ। ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਕਰਾਉਦਾ ਹੈ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਉਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਕਰਨੀਆਂ ਚਾਹੀਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।” ਇਉਂ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਮੰਨ ਗਿਆ।
16 ਜਿਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਲਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਪਾਣੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਆ ਗਿਆ। ਉਸ ਲਈ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਖੁਲ੍ਹ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਆਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਘੁੱਗੀ ਵਾਂਗ ਆਪਣੇ ਉੱਪਰ ਉੱਤਰਦਿਆਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ।
17 ਸਵਰਗ ਤੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਬਾਣੀ ਆਈ, ਤੇ ਇਹ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਇਹ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸਤੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹਾਂ।”
1 In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea,
2 And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
3 For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.
4 And the same John had his raiment of camel’s hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his meat was locusts and wild honey.
5 Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the region round about Jordan,
6 And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins.
7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
8 Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:
9 And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.
10 And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:
12 Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.
13 Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him.
14 But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?
15 And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.
16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
Hebrews 8 in Tamil and English
1 এখন আমরা য়ে বিষয় বলছি, তার প্রধান বক্তব্য হচ্ছে: আমাদের এক মহাযাজক আছেন, যিনি স্বর্গে ঈশ্বরের মহিমাময় সিংহাসনের ডানপাশে বসে আছেন৷
Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;
2 তিনি সেই মহাপবিত্রস্থানে সেবা করছেন, যা প্রকৃত উপাসনার স্থান এবং য়ে উপাসনাস্থল মানুষের হাতে গড়া নয় বরং ঈশ্বর স্বয়ং তা নির্মাণ করেছেন৷
A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man.
3 প্রত্যেক মহাযাজককে বলি ও উপহার উত্সর্গ করার জন্যই নিযোগ করা হয়৷ তাই আমাদের এই মহাযাজককেও ঈশ্বরকে কিছু উত্সর্গ করতে হয়৷
For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer.
4 আমাদের মহাযাজক যদি পৃথিবীতে থাকতেন তবে তিনি কখনও যাজক হতেন না, কারণ পুরানো বিধি-ব্যবস্থা অনুযাযী এখানে যাজকরা ঈশ্বরকে উপহার নিবেদন করার জন্য রয়েছেন৷
For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law:
5 যাজকরা য়ে কাজ করেন তা কেবল স্বর্গীয় জিনিসগুলির নকল ছায়ামাত্র৷ মোশি যখন পবিত্র তাঁবু স্থাপন করতে যাচ্ছিলেন, তখন ঈশ্বর তাঁকে সতর্ক করে বলেছিলেন, ‘দেখো, পাহাড়ের ওপরে তোমাকে য়েমন শিবির দেখানো হয়েছিল তুমি ঠিক সেইরকমই করো৷’
Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.
6 কিন্তু এখন যীশুকে য়ে কাজের জন্য নিযোগ করা হয়েছে তা ঐ যাজকদের থেকে অনেক গুণে মহত্৷ সেই একইভাবে যীশু য়ে নতুন চুক্তি ঈশ্বরের কাছ থেকে এনেছেন তা পুরাতন চুক্তিটির থেকে অনেক শ্রেষ্ঠ৷ এই নতুন চুক্তি শ্রেষ্ঠ বিষয়ের প্রতিশ্রুতির ওপর স্থাপিত হয়েছে৷
But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.
7 কারণ ঐ প্রথম চুক্তি যদি নিখুঁত হতো, তাহলে তার জায়গায় দ্বিতীয় চুক্তি স্থাপনের প্রযোজন হতো না৷
For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.
8 কিন্তু ঈশ্বর লোকদের মধ্যে ত্রুটি লক্ষ্য করে বলেছিলেন:‘দেখো, এমন সময় আসছে, যখন আমি ইস্রায়েলের লোকেদের ও যিহূদার লোকেদের সঙ্গে এক নতুন চুক্তি করব৷
For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:
9 সেই চুক্তি অনুসারে নয় যা আমি তাদের পিতৃপুরুষদের সঙ্গে এর আগে করেছিলাম, য়েদিন আমি তাদের হাত ধরে মিশর দেশ থেকে বাইরে বের করে নিয়ে এসেছিলাম৷ আমার সঙ্গে তাদের য়ে চুক্তি হয়েছিল তাতে তাদের বিশ্বাস ছিল না; আর তাই আমি তাদের কাছ থেকে মুখ ঘুরিয়ে নিয়েছিলাম, একথা প্রভু বলেন৷
Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.
10 আমি ইস্রায়েল বংশের সঙ্গে এক নতুন চুক্তি স্থির করব; ভবিষ্যতে আমি এই চুক্তি স্থাপন করব, একথা প্রভু বলেন৷ আমি তাদের মনের মাঝে আমার বিধি-ব্যবস্থা দেবো আর তাদের হৃদয়ে আমার ব্যবস্থা লিখে দেবো৷ আমি তাদের ঈশ্বর হবো ও তারা আমার প্রজা হবে৷
For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:
11 কাউকে আর তাদের সহ নাগরিকদের ও ভাইদের এই বলে শিক্ষা দেবার দরকার হবে না, প্রভুকে জানো, কারণ ছোট থেকে বড় পর্যন্ত সবাই আমাকে জানবে৷
And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.
12 কারণ আমার বিরুদ্ধে তারা যতো অপরাধ করেছে সে সব আমি ক্ষমা করব, তাদের সকল পাপ আর কখনও স্মরণ করব না৷’ যিরমিয় 31 :31 -34
For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
13 এই চুক্তিকে যখন ঈশ্বর নতুন বলছেন তখন প্রথমের চুক্তিটি পুরানো হয়ে যাচ্ছে৷ যা কিছু পুরানো তা তো জীর্ণ আর তা শিগ্গিরই বিলীন হয়ে যাবে৷
In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.
