19 But Herod the tetrarch, being reproved by him for Herodias his brother Philip’s wife, and for all the evils which Herod had done,

20 Added yet this above all, that he shut up John in prison.

21 Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened,

22 And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.

23 And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was the son of Heli,

24 Which was the son of Matthat, which was the son of Levi, which was the son of Melchi, which was the son of Janna, which was the son of Joseph,

19 ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਜ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਖਤਮ ਹੋਏ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਨੇ ਹਾਕਮ ਹੇਰੋਦੇਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਰਾ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਹੇਰੋਦਿਆਸ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਜਾਇਜ਼ ਸੰਬੰਧ ਹੋਣ ਲਈ ਝਿੜਕਿਆ।

20 ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੇਰੋਦੇਸ ਨੇ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਕੈਦ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਹੋਰ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਕਰਨੀ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਕਰਨੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੂਚੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਕਰ ਲਈ।
Added yet this above all, that he shut up John in prison.

21 ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਦੋਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ, ਤਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਖੁਲ੍ਹ ਗਿਆ,

22 ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਆਤਮਾ ਘੁੱਗੀ ਦੇ ਰੂਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ ਉੱਪਰ ਆਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਸੁਰਗਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਬਾਣੀ ਆਈ, “ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੈ! ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਖੁਸ਼ ਹਾਂ।”

23 ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਦਾ ਪਾਰਿਵਾਰਿਕ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਜਦੋਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇਣੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤੇ, ਉਸ ਵਕਤ ਉਹ ਤਕਰੀਬਨ ਤੀਹ ਕੁ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਸੀ। ਜੋ ਕਿ ਹੇਲੀ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ।
