ਯਹੂਦੀ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨਾਲ ਚਾਲ ਖੇਡੀ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਨੇਮ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਕ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਜਕ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਫ਼ੜਨ ਦੀ ਸਹੀ ਤਾਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਕੋਲ ਕੁਝ ਜਸੂਸ ਭੇਜੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹੋਣ ਦਾ ਨਾਟਕ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਹ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਗਲਤੀ ਲੱਭਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਸਨ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਜਪਾਲ ਦੇ ਹੱਥੀ ਸੌਂਪ ਸੱਕਣ, ਜਿਸ ਕੋਲ ਯਿਸੂ ਉੱਤੇ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਸੀ।
