ਤਦ ਸਿਮਓਨ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਸੀਸ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਦੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਮਰਿਯਮ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਇਸ ਬਾਲਕ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਣ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀ ਡਿੱਗਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਉੱਠਣਗੇ। ਉਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਜਿਸਦਾ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਵਿਰੋਧ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
