ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਮਾਰਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ‘ਪਿਤਾ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ! ਮੇਰੇ ਤੇ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ। ਲਾਜ਼ਰ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੀ ਉਂਗਲ ਭਿਉਂ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜੀਭ ਗਿੱਲੀ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਭੇਜ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਅੱਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੁੱਖ ਝੱਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ।’
