1 Then sang Deborah and Barak the son of Abinoam on that day, saying,ਦਬੋਰਾਹ ਦਾ ਗੀਤ ਉਸ ਦਿਨ, ਜਦੋਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਸੀਸਰਾ ਨੂੰ ਹਰਾਇਆ, ਦਬੋਰਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਅਬੀਨੋਅਮ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਬਾਰਾਕ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਇਆ:

2 For that the leaders took the lead in Israel, For that the people offered themselves willingly, Bless you Yahweh.“ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਯੁੱਧ ਲਈ ਤਿਆਰ ਹੋ ਗਏ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਯੁੱਧ ਲਈ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਕਰੋ!

3 Hear, you kings; give ear, you princes; I, [even] I, will sing to Yahweh; I will sing praise to Yahweh, the God of Israel.“ਰਾਜਿਓ ਸੁਣੋ। ਹਾਕਮੋ ਧਿਆਨ ਦੇਵੋ, ਮੈਂ ਗਾਵਾਂਗੀ। ਮੈਂ ਖੁਦ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਲਈ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਵਾਂਗੀ। ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਲਈ, ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਲਈ, ਸੰਗੀਤ ਛੇੜਾਂਗੀ।

4 Yahweh, when you went forth out of Seir, When you marched out of the field of Edom, The earth trembled, the sky also dropped, Yes, the clouds dropped water.“ਹੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਜਦੋਂ ਤੂੰ ਸੇਈਰ ਤੋਂ ਆਵੇਂ, ਜਦੋਂ ਤੂੰ ਅਦੋਮ ਧਰਤੀ ਤੋਂ ਕੂਚ ਕੀਤਾ ਧਰਤੀ ਹਿੱਲ ਗਈ। ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਵਰਿਆ ਅਤੇ, ਬੱਦਲਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ।

5 The mountains quaked at the presence of Yahweh, Even yon Sinai at the presence of Yahweh, the God of Israel.ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਸੀਨਈ ਪਰਬਤ ਦੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਪਰਬਤ ਹਿੱਲੇ, ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ।

6 In the days of Shamgar the son of Anath, In the days of Jael, the highways were unoccupied, The travelers walked through byways.“ਅਨਾਥ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸ਼ਮਗਰ ਦੇ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ, ਅਤੇ ਯਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ, ਮੁਖ ਸੜਕਾਂ ਸਨ ਸੱਖਣੀਆਂ। ਕਾਰਵਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਮੁਸਾਫ਼ਰ ਸਫ਼ਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ ਪਿੱਛਲੀਆਂ ਸੜਕਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ।

7 The rulers ceased in Israel, they ceased, Until that I Deborah arose, That I arose a mother in Israel.“ਉੱਥੇ ਕੋਈ ਯੋਧੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਨ। ਦਬੋਰਾਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਆਉਣ ਤੀਕ, ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਸਿਪਾਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਨ। ਜਦੋਂ ਤੀਕ ਤੂੰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੀ ਮਾਂ ਬਣਕੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਖਲੋਤੀ ਸੀ।

8 They chose new gods; Then was war in the gates: Was there a shield or spear seen Among forty thousand in Israel?“ਚੁਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਆਗੂ ਲੜਨ ਲਈ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ਿਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ। ਮਿਲਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਢਾਲ ਜਾਂ ਨੇਜਾ ਕੋਈ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ 40,000 ਸਿਪਾਹੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ।

9 My heart is toward the governors of Israel, Who offered themselves willingly among the people: Bless you Yahweh.“ਮੇਰਾ ਦਿਲ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਮਾਂਡਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਨਾਲ ਜੰਗ ਨੂੰ ਗਏ ਸਨ! ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਅਸੀਸ ਦੇਵੋ!

10 Tell [of it], you who ride on white donkeys, You who sit on rich carpets, You who walk by the way.“ਤੁਸੀਂ ਲੋਕੋ ਜੋ ਚਿੱਟੇ ਖੋਤਿਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਸਵਾਰੀ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਾਠੀਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਬੈਠੇ ਹੋਏ, ਅਤੇ ਸੜਕ ਉੱਤੇ ਤੁਰੇ ਜਾਂਦਿਆਂ ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਗੱਲ ਕਰੋ!

11 Far from the noise of archers, in the places of drawing water, There shall they rehearse the righteous acts of Yahweh, [Even] the righteous acts of his rule in Israel. Then the people of Yahweh went down to the gates.ਪਾਣੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਖੜਤਾਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਸੁਣਦੇ ਹਾਂ। ਲੋਕ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਜਿੱਤਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਸਿਪਾਹੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਜਿੱਤਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਗਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਦੋਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦਿਆਂ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ਿਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਲੜੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਜਿੱਤ ਗਏ ਸਨ।

12 Awake, awake, Deborah; Awake, awake, utter a song: Arise, Barak, and lead away your captives, you son of Abinoam.“ਉੱਠ, ਉੱਠ ਦਬੋਰਾਹ! ਉੱਠ, ਉੱਠ ਅਤੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾ! ਉੱਠ ਬਾਰਾਕ! ਜਾਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣਾ ਨੂੰ ਫ਼ੜ ਲੈ ਅਬੀਨੋਅਮ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ!

13 Then came down a remnant of the nobles [and] the people; Yahweh came down for me against the mighty.“ਫ਼ੇਰ ਬਚੇ ਹੋਏ ਤਕੜਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਲੜਨ ਲਈ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਚੱਲੇ ਗਏ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਯੋਧਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਲੜਨ ਲਈ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਗਏ।

14 Out of Ephraim [came down] they whose root is in Amalek; After you, Benjamin, among your peoples; Out of Machir came down governors, Out of Zebulun those who handle the marshal's staff.“ਇਫ਼ਰਾਈਮ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਅਮਾਲੇਕ ਦੇ ਪਹਾੜੀ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਆਏ। ਹੇ ਬਿਨਯਾਮੀਨ, ਪਿੱਛਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ। ਅਤੇ ਕਮਾਂਡਰ ਸਨ ਉੱਥੇ ਮਾਕੀਰ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ। ਜ਼ਬੂਲੁਨ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਦੇ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਡਾਂਗਾ ਨਾਲ ਆਏ।

15 The princes of Issachar were with Deborah; As was Issachar, so was Barak; Into the valley they rushed forth at his feet. By the watercourses of Reuben There were great resolves of heart.ਯਿੱਸਾਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਆਗੂ ਦਬੋਰਾਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਨ। ਯਿੱਸਾਕਾਰ ਦਾ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਬਾਰਾਕ ਨਾਲ ਵਫ਼ਾਦਾਰ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਉਸਦੀ ਕਮਾਨ ਥੱਲੇ ਵਾਦੀ ਅੰਦਰ ਭੇਜੇ ਗਏ ਸਨ। “ਰਊਬੇਨ ਨੇ ਫ਼ੌਜੀ ਸਮੂਹਾਂ ਦਰਮਿਆਨ, ਮਹਾਨ ਹਸਤੀਆਂ ਵਾਦ-ਵਿਵਾਦ ਕਰ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਸਨ ਕਿ ਕੀ ਕਰੀਏ।

16 Why sat you among the sheepfolds, To hear the whistling for the flocks? At the watercourses of Reuben There were great searchings of heart.ਇਸ ਲਈ ਤੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਉੱਥੇ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਭੇਡਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਾੜੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਕੰਧਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਬੈਠਾ ਸੀ। ਰਊਬੇਨ ਦਿਆਂ ਬਹਾਦੁਰ ਸਿਪਾਹੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਜੰਗ ਬਾਰੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸੋਚਿਆ। ਪਰ ਉਹ, ਆਪਣੀ ਭੇਡਾਂ ਲਈ ਵਜਾਏ ਸੰਗੀਤ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣਦਿਆਂ, ਘਰਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਰੁਕੇ ਰਹੇ।

17 Gilead abode beyond the Jordan: Dan, why did he remain in ships? Asher sat still at the haven of the sea, Abode by his creeks.ਗਿਲਆਦ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਆਪਣਿਆਂ ਡੇਰਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਯਰਦਨ ਨਦੀ ਦੇ ਪਰਲੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਰੁਕੇ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ। ਤੁਸੀਂ, ਦਾਨ ਦੇ ਲੋਕੋ, ਕਿਉਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਜਹਾਜ਼ਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਰੁਕੇ ਰਹੋ? ਆਸ਼ੇਰ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਲਾਗੇ ਆਪਣਿਆਂ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਬੰਦਰਗਾਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਡੇਰਾ ਲਾਈ ਰੁਕੇ ਰਹੇ।

18 Zebulun was a people that jeopardized their lives to the death, Naphtali, on the high places of the field.“ਪਰ ਜ਼ਬੂਲੁਨ ਅਤੇ ਨਫ਼ਤਾਲੀ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਹਾੜੀਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਜੰਗ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਜਿੰਦਾਂ ਖਤਰੇ’ਚ ਪਾਈਆਂ।

19 The kings came and fought; Then fought the kings of Canaan. In Taanach by the waters of Megiddo: They took no gain of money.ਕਨਾਨ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਲੜਨ ਲਈ ਆਏ, ਪਰ ਉਹ ਕੋਈ ਖਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਗਏ! ਉਹ ਮਗਿੱਦੋ ਦੇ ਝਰਨਿਆਂ ਨੇੜੇ ਤਆਨਾਕ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿਖੇ ਲੜੇ।

20 From the sky the stars fought, From their courses they fought against Sisera.ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਦੇ ਤਾਰੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਲੜੇ, ਉਹ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਦਿਸ਼ਾਵਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸੀਸਰਾ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਲੜੇ।

21 The river Kishon swept them away, That ancient river, the river Kishon. My soul, march on with strength.ਕੀਸ਼ੋਨ ਨਦੀ, ਉਹ ਬੁੱਢੀ ਨਦੀ, ਸੀਸਰਾ ਦੇ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੋੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਲੈ ਗਈ। ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਾਨ, ਤਾਕਤ ਨਾਲ ਅਗਾਂਹ ਵੱਧ!

22 Then did the horse hoofs stamp By reason of the prancings, the prancings of their strong ones.ਘੋੜਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਸੁੰਮ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਵੱਜੇ ਸੀਸਰਾ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਸ਼ਾਲੀ ਘੋੜੇ ਦੌੜਦੇ ਗਏ ਦੌੜਦੇ ਗਏ।

23 Curse you Meroz, said the angel of Yahweh. Curse you bitterly the inhabitants of it, Because they didn't come to the help of Yahweh, To the help of Yahweh against the mighty.“ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਦੂਤ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ‘ਮੇਰੋਜ਼ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਨੂੰ ਸਰਾਪ ਦੇਵੋ। ਉੱਥੋਂ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਰਾਪ ਦੇਵੋ! ਉਹ ਤਾਕਤਵਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਏ।’

24 Blessed above women shall Jael be, The wife of Heber the Kenite; Blessed shall she be above women in the tent.ਯਾਏਲ ਕੇਨੀ ਹਬਰ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੱਧੇਰੇ ਧੰਨ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ।

25 He asked water, [and] she gave him milk; She brought him butter in a lordly dish.ਸੀਸਰਾ ਨੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਮੰਗਿਆ ਯਾਏਲ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੁੱਧ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਹ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਯੋਗ ਪਿਆਲੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਕਰੀਮ ਲੈ ਆਈ ਸੀ।

26 She put her hand to the tent-pin, Her right hand to the workmen's hammer; With the hammer she struck Sisera, she struck through his head; Yes, she pierced and struck through his temples.ਫ਼ੇਰ ਯਾਏਲ ਨੇ ਹੱਥ ਵੱਧਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਤੰਬੂ ਦੀ ਕਿੱਲੀ ਫ਼ੜ ਲਈ। ਉਸਦਾ ਸੱਜਾ ਹੱਥ ਹਥੌੜੇ ਤੀਕ ਜਾ ਪਹੁੰਚਿਆ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਮੇ ਵਰਤਦੇ ਨੇ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਹਥੌੜਾ ਸੀਸਰਾ ਉੱਤੇ ਵਰਤਿਆ! ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਸੱਟ ਮਾਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਦੀ ਪੁੜਪੁੜੀ ਅੰਦਰ ਸੁਰਾਖ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

27 At her feet he bowed, he fell, he lay; At her feet he bowed, he fell; Where he bowed, there he fell down dead.ਉਹ ਯਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚਕਾਰ ਡਿੱਗ ਪਿਆ। ਉਹ ਡਿੱਗਿਆ। ਉਹ ਉੱਥੇ ਹੀ ਪਿਆ ਰਿਹਾ। ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚਕਾਰ ਡਿੱਗ ਪਿਆ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਸੀਸਰਾ ਡੁੱਬਿਆ, ਉਹ ਉੱਥੇ ਡਿੱਗਿਆ, ਤਬਾਹ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।

28 Through the window she looked forth, and cried, The mother of Sisera [cried] through the lattice, Why is his chariot so long in coming? Why do the wheels of his chariots wait?“ਦੇਖੋ, ਉਹ ਸੀਸਰਾ ਦੀ ਮਾਂ ਖੜੀ, ਬਾਰੀ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਦੇਖ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ, ਪਰਦਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਦੇਖ ਰਹੀ ਅਤੇ ਰੋ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ‘ਸੀਸਰਾ ਦੇ ਰੱਥ ਨੇ ਇੰਨੀ ਦੇਰ ਕਿਉਂ ਲਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ? ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਰੱਥਾਂ ਦੀ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਕਿਉਂ ਸੁਣਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ?’

29 Her wise ladies answered her, Yes, she returned answer to herself,“ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਸੂਝਵਾਨ ਔਰਤ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਵਾਬ ਦਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਹਾਂ ਉਹ ਜਵਾਬ ਦਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।

30 Have they not found, have they not divided the spoil? A lady, two ladies to every man; To Sisera a spoil of dyed garments, A spoil of dyed garments embroidered, Of dyed garments embroidered on both sides, on the necks of the spoil?‘ਮੈਨੂੰ ਯਕੀਨ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਜੰਗ ਜਿੱਤ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਹਰਾਏ ਹੋਏ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਖੋਹ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਆਪਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੁੱਟ ਦਾ ਮਾਲ ਵੰਡ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਹਰ ਸਿਪਾਹੀ ਇੱਕ ਜਾਂ ਦੋ ਕੁੜੀਆਂ ਲਿਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਸੀਸਰਾ ਨੂੰ ਰੰਗਦਾਰ ਕੱਪੜੇ ਲੱਭ ਗਏ ਹੋਣਗੇ। ਹਾਂ, ਸੀਸਰਾ ਨੂੰ ਰੰਗਦਾਰ ਜੇਤੂ ਦੀ ਗਰਦਨ ਲਈ ਕੱਢਾਈ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਇੱਕ ਜਾਂ ਦੋ ਰੰਗਦਾਰ ਸਕਾਫ਼ ਲੱਭ ਗਏ- ਜਾਂ ਸ਼ਾਇਦ ਦੋ-ਵਿਜੇਈ ਸੀਸਰਾ ਦੇ ਪਹਿਨਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ।’

31 So let all your enemies perish, Yahweh: But let those who love him be as the sun when he goes forth in his might. The land had rest forty years.“ਰਥ ਕਰੇ ਇਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਮਰਨ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਜੀ! ਅਤੇ ਕਾਸ਼ ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਨ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਹੋ ਜਾਵਣ ਤਕੜੇ ਚਢ਼ਦੇ ਸੂਰਜ ਵਾਗਰਾਂ!” ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਥੇ 40 ਸਾਲਾਂ ਤੀਕ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਰਹੀ।
