Jonah 1:9
ਯੂਨਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੈਂ ਇੱਕ ਇਬਰਾਨੀ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਦਾ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਹੈ।”

| the Lord, | אֱלֹהֵ֤י | ʾĕlōhê | ay-loh-HAY |
| God the | הַשָּׁמַ֙יִם֙ | haššāmayim | ha-sha-MA-YEEM |
| of heaven, | אֲנִ֣י | ʾănî | uh-NEE |
| which | יָרֵ֔א | yārēʾ | ya-RAY |
| hath made | אֲשֶׁר | ʾăšer | uh-SHER |
| עָשָׂ֥ה | ʿāśâ | ah-SA | |
| the sea | אֶת | ʾet | et |
| and the dry | הַיָּ֖ם | hayyām | ha-YAHM |
| land. | וְאֶת | wĕʾet | veh-ET |
