Jeremiah 38:1
ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਂਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਕੁਝ ਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਸੁਣ ਲਿਆ ਕਿ ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਸਨ: ਮੱਤਾਨ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸ਼ਫਟਯਾਹ, ਪਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਗਦਲਯਾਹ, ਸ਼ਲਮਯਾਹ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯੂਕਲ ਅਤੇ ਮਲਕੀਯਾਹ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਪਸ਼ਹੂਰ। ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ:

ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ ਦੀ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਦ ਕਰਨਾ ਇਹੀ ਉਹ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਮਿਲਿਆ। ਇਹ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਉਦੋਂ ਆਇਆ ਜਦੋਂ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਪਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਜਕ ਸਫ਼ਨਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਕੋਲ ਭੇਜਿਆ। ਪਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਮਲਕੀਯਾਹ ਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਫ਼ਨਯਾਹ ਮਅਸੇਯਾਹ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ। ਪਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਅਤੇ ਸਫ਼ਨਯਾਹ ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਕੋਲ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਆਏ।

ਰਾਜੇ ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਲਮਯਾਹ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯਹੂਕਲ ਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਬੰਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਮਅਸੇਯਾਹ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਜਾਜਕ ਸਫ਼ਨਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਨਬੀ ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਵੱਲ ਇਹ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇਕੇ ਭੇਜਿਆ: “ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਸਾਡੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਅੱਗੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰ।”
