Genesis 34:21
“ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਇਹ ਲੋਕ ਸਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਦੋਸਤੀ ਪਾਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਅਸੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਕਾਇਮ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਾਂ। ਸਾਡੇ ਕੋਲ ਸਾਰਿਆ ਲਈ ਕਾਫ਼ੀ ਥਾਂ ਹੈ। ਅਸੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ਾਦੀ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਸੁਤੰਤਰ ਹਾਂ। ਅਤੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਾਦੀ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਹਾਸਿਲ ਕਰਾਂਗੇ।

| therein; for the land, | וְיִסְחֲר֣וּ | wĕyisḥărû | veh-yees-huh-ROO |
| behold, | אֹתָ֔הּ | ʾōtāh | oh-TA |
| large is it | וְהָאָ֛רֶץ | wĕhāʾāreṣ | veh-ha-AH-rets |
| enough | הִנֵּ֥ה | hinnē | hee-NAY |
| for them; | רַֽחֲבַת | raḥăbat | RA-huh-vaht |
| take us let | יָדַ֖יִם | yādayim | ya-DA-yeem |
| לִפְנֵיהֶ֑ם | lipnêhem | leef-nay-HEM | |
| their daughters | אֶת | ʾet | et |
| wives, for us to | בְּנֹתָם֙ | bĕnōtām | beh-noh-TAHM |
| and let us give | נִקַּֽח | niqqaḥ | nee-KAHK |
