1 Now these are the children of the province, who went up out of the captivity of those who had been carried away, whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried away to Babylon, and who returned to Jerusalem and Judah, everyone to his city;ਮੁੜਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਕੈਦੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੂਚੀ ਇਹ ਉਸ ਸੂਬੇ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਹਨ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਕੈਦ ਤੋਂ ਵਾਪਸ ਪਰਤੇ ਸਨ। ਬਾਬਲ ਦਾ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨਬੂਕਦਨੱਸਰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੈਦੀਆਂ ਵਜੋ ਬਾਬਲ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਪਸ ਪਰਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਹਰ ਕੋਈ ਮੁੜ ਆਪਣੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਪਸ ਪਰਤਿਆ।

49 the children of Uzza, the children of Paseah, the children of Besai,ਉਜ਼ਾ, ਪਾਮੇਅਹ ਬੇਸਾਈ ਦੇ ਉੱਤਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀ,

50 the children of Asnah, the children of Meunim, the children of Nephisim,ਅਸਨਾਹ, ਮਊਨੀਮ ਨਫੁਸੀਮ ਦੇ ਉੱਤਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀ।

51 the children of Bakbuk, the children of Hakupha, the children of Harhur,ਬਕਬੂਕ, ਹਕੂਫਾ ਹਰਹੂਰ ਦੇ ਉੱਤਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀ।

52 the children of Bazluth, the children of Mehida, the children of Harsha,ਬਸਲੂਬ ਮਹੀਦਾ, ਹਰਸ਼ਾ ਦੇ ਉੱਤਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀ,

53 the children of Barkos, the children of Sisera, the children of Temah,ਬਰਕੋਸ, ਸੀਸਰਾ, ਬਾਮਹ ਦੇ ਉੱਤਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀ।

54 the children of Neziah, the children of Hatipha.ਨਸੀਹ ਅਤੇ ਹਟੀਫਾ ਦੇ ਉੱਤਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀ।

57 the children of Shephatiah, the children of Hattil, the children of Pochereth-hazzebaim, the children of Ami.ਸ਼ਫਟਯਾਹ, ਹਟ੍ਟੀਲ, ਪੋਕਰਬ-ਹੱਸਬਾਇਮ, ਅਤੇ ਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਉੱਤਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀ

58 All the Nethinim, and the children of Solomon's servants, were three hundred ninety-two.ਸਾਰੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਉੱਤਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ 392 ਸੀ।

61 Of the children of the priests: the children of Habaiah, the children of Hakkoz, the children of Barzillai, who took a wife of the daughters of Barzillai the Gileadite, and was called after their name.ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਉੱਤਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਇਉਂ ਸਨ: ਹੱਬਯਾਹ ਦੇ ਉੱਤਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀ, ਹਕੋਸ਼ ਦੇ ਉੱਤਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀ, ਬਰਜ਼ਿਲਈ ਦੇ ਉੱਤਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀ (ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਆਦਮੀ ਗਿਲਆਦ ਦੇ ਬਰਜਿਲਈ ਦੀਆਂ ਧੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹਿਆ ਗਿਆ, ਉਹ ਬਰਜਿਲਈ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਸੀ।)

62 These sought their register [among] those who were reckoned by genealogy, but they were not found: therefore were they deemed polluted and put from the priesthood.ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਦੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਨਣਾ ਚਾਹਿਆ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਖੋਜ ਨਾ ਸੱਕੇ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਂ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਫਹਰਿਸਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਰਜ ਨਹੀ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਉਹ ਸਾਬਿਤ ਨਾ ਕਰ ਸੱਕੇ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੁਰਖੇ ਜਾਜਕ ਸਨ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਵਜੋਂ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਆਗਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ।

63 The governor said to them, that they should not eat of the most holy things, until there stood up a priest with Urim and with Thummim.ਤਦ ਰਾਜਪਾਲ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਜਦ ਤੀਕ ਓੱਥੇ ਕੋਈ ਜਾਜਕ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਜੋ ਉਰੀਮ ਅਤੇ ਬੁਂਮੀਮ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਨਕਾਰੀ ਦੇ ਸੱਕੇ ਤਦ ਤੀਕ ਉਹ ਅੱਤ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਵਸਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਨਾ ਖਾਣ।”

64 The whole assembly together was forty-two thousand three hundred sixty,ਕੁਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਵਾਪਸ ਆਏ ਸਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ 42,360 ਸੀ। ਇਹ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ 7,337 ਦਾਸ ਤੇ ਦਾਸੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਗਿਣੇ ਬਿਨਾ ਸੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ 200 ਗਾਇੱਕ ਤੇ ਗਾਇੱਕਾਵਾਂ ਵੀ ਸਨ।

65 besides their men-servants and their maid-servants, of whom there were seven thousand three hundred thirty-seven: and they had two hundred singing men and singing women.

66 Their horses were seven hundred thirty-six; their mules, two hundred forty-five;ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਲ 736 ਘੋੜੇ, 245 ਖਚ੍ਚਰ, 435 ਊਠ ਅਤੇ 6,720 ਖੋਤੇ ਸਨ।

67 their camels, four hundred thirty-five; [their] donkeys, six thousand seven hundred and twenty.

68 Some of the heads of fathers' [houses], when they came to the house of Yahweh which is in Jerusalem, offered willingly for the house of God to set it up in its place:ਜਦ ਉਹ ਸਮੂਹ ਯੋਹਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੁਜਿਆ ਤ੍ਤਦ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਨਿਰਮਾਣ ਲਈ ਤੋਂਹਫੇ ਭੇਂਟ ਕੀਤੇ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਬਾਵੇਂ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ਉਸ ਬਾਂਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਨਵਾਂ ਮੰਦਰ ਉਸਾਰ ਸੱਕਣ।

69 they gave after their ability into the treasury of the work sixty-one thousand darics of gold, and five thousand minas of silver, and one hundred priests' garments.ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿਤ੍ਤ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ ਭੇਟਾਂ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ। ਜੋ ਭੇਟਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਨਿਰਮਾਣ ਲਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਕਰੀਬਨ 500 ਕਿਲ ਸੋਨਾ, 3,000 ਕਿੱਲੋ ਦੇ ਕਰੀਬ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਹਿਨਣ ਲਈ 100 ਚੋਗੇ।

70 So the priests, and the Levites, and some of the people, and the singers, and the porters, and the Nethinim, lived in their cities, and all Israel in their cities.ਫ਼ੇਰ ਜਾਜਕ, ਲੇਵੀ ਅਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਹੋਰ ਲੋਕ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਦੇ ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦੇ ਇਲਾਕੇ ’ਚ ਜਾਕੇ ਵਸ ਗਏ। ਇਸ ਟੋਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਵਯ੍ਯੇ, ਦਰਬਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਸਨ। ਬਾਕੀ ਦੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਖੁਦ ਦੇ ਨਗਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਸ ਗਏ।
