Song Of Solomon 3
1 ਉਹ ਬੋਲਦੀ ਹੈ ਰਾਤ ਵੇਲੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਸੇਜ ਉੱਤੇ ਲੱਭਦੀ ਹਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਆਪਣੇ ਨੂੰ। ਲੱਭਦੀ ਹਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਰ ਮਿਲ ਸੱਕਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਉਹ ਮੈਨੂੰ।
2 ਉੱਠ ਜਾਵਾਂਗੀ ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ। ਘੁੰਮਾਂਗੀ ਮੈਂ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਅੰਦਰ। ਤਲਾਸ਼ ਕਰਾਂਗੀ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਮ ਦੀ ਗਲੀਆਂ ਮੁਹਲਿਆਂ ਅੰਦਰ। ਲੱਭਿਆ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ। ਪਰ ਮਿਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੱਕਿਆ ਉਹ ਮੈਨੂੰ!
3 ਪਹਿਰੇਦਾਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਨਗਰ ਦੇ ਦੁਆਲੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਲੱਭ ਲਿਆ। ਪੁੱਛਿਆ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਲੋਂ “ਕੀ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਹੈ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਨੂੰ?”
4 ਕੁਝ ਹੀ ਦੂਰ ਗਈ ਸਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਪਹਿਰੇਦਾਰਾਂ ਕੋਲੋਂ, ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਭ ਲਿਆ। ਫ਼ੜ ਲਿਆ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੀਕ ਲੈ ਨਹੀਂ ਗਈ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਅੰਦਰ, ਉਸ ਇੱਕ ਦੇ ਕਮਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਕਲਪਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ।
5 ਉਹ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੀਓ ਨਾਰੀਓ, ਖੇਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਰਨੋਟਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਜਵਾਨ ਹਿਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੌਂਹ ਖਾ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਇਕਰਾਰ ਕਰੋ: ਜਗਾਓ ਨਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਨੂੰ, ਉਤੇਜਿਤ ਕਰੋ ਨਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਨੂੰ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੀਕ ਇਹ ਨਾ ਚਾਹੇ ਕਿ ਜਗਾਇਆ ਜਾਵੇ।
6 ਉਹ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਲਾੜੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲ ਸਮੂਹ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਰੂਬਲ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਇਹ ਔਰਤ ਕਿਂਝ ਆ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ? ਉੱਡਦੀ ਹੈ ਧੂੜ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਧੂੰਏ ਦੇ ਬਦਲਾਂ ਵਾਂਗ, ਗੰਧਰਸ ਤੇ ਲੁਬਾਨ ਵਰਗੀਆਂ ਸੁਗੰਧਿਤ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਲਣ ਉੱਤੇ ਉੱਠਦੇ ਨੇ ਜੋ।
7 ਦੇਖੋ, ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਦਾ ਸਫ਼ਰੀ ਤਖਤ ਇੱਥੇ ਹੈ ਜਿਸਦੀ 60 ਪਹਿਰੇਦਾਰ ਰਾਖੀ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਤਾਕਤਵਰ ਸੈਨਿਕ!
8 ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਪ੍ਰ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਲੜਾਕੂ ਹਨ; ਤਲਵਾਰਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਸਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਲਟਕਦੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ, ਰਾਤ ਦੇ ਹਰ ਖਤਰੇ ਲਈ ਤਿਆਰ!
9 ਇਹ ਇੱਕ ਸਫ਼ਰੀ ਤਖਤ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਲਬਾਨੋਨ ਦੀ ਲਕੜੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਣਵਾਇਆ।
10 ਹੱਬੇ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਸਨ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਦੇ ਬਣੇ ਹੋਏ, ਤੇ ਬੱਲਾ ਸੋਨੇ ਦਾ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਦੀ ਗੱਦੀ ਬੈਂਗਣੀ ਕੱਪੜੇ ਨਾਲ ਢੱਕੀ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ। ਬਣਾਇਆ ਸੀ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾਲ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੀਆਂ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਨੇ।
11 ਸੀਯੋਨ ਦੀਓ ਔਰਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਆਓ ਦੇਖੋ ਰਾਜੇ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖੋ ਉਹ ਤਾਜ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਸੀ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਾਂ ਉਸਦੀ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਤੇ। ਓਸ ਦਿਨ ਜਦੋਂ ਸੀ ਉਹ ਵਿਆਹਿਆ ਓਸ ਦਿਨ ਜਦੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਸੀ ਉਹ ਬਹੁਤ
1 By night on my bed I sought him whom my soul loveth: I sought him, but I found him not.
2 I will rise now, and go about the city in the streets, and in the broad ways I will seek him whom my soul loveth: I sought him, but I found him not.
3 The watchmen that go about the city found me: to whom I said, Saw ye him whom my soul loveth?
4 It was but a little that I passed from them, but I found him whom my soul loveth: I held him, and would not let him go, until I had brought him into my mother’s house, and into the chamber of her that conceived me.
5 I charge you, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, by the roes, and by the hinds of the field, that ye stir not up, nor awake my love, till he please.
6 Who is this that cometh out of the wilderness like pillars of smoke, perfumed with myrrh and frankincense, with all powders of the merchant?
7 Behold his bed, which is Solomon’s; threescore valiant men are about it, of the valiant of Israel.
8 They all hold swords, being expert in war: every man hath his sword upon his thigh because of fear in the night.
9 King Solomon made himself a chariot of the wood of Lebanon.
10 He made the pillars thereof of silver, the bottom thereof of gold, the covering of it of purple, the midst thereof being paved with love, for the daughters of Jerusalem.
11 Go forth, O ye daughters of Zion, and behold king Solomon with the crown wherewith his mother crowned him in the day of his espousals, and in the day of the gladness of his heart.

1 ਪਾਪ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਸੱਪ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਜੰਗਲੀ ਜਾਨਵਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਚਾਲਾਕ ਸੀ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਾਜੇ ਗਏ ਸਨ। ਸੱਪ ਨੇ ਔਰਤ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਤੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਹੇ ਔਰਤ, ਕੀ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਸੱਚਮੁੱਚ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਬਾਗ਼ ਵਿੱਚਲੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਰੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਫ਼ਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਖਾਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ?”
Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
2 ਔਰਤ ਨੇ ਸੱਪ ਨੂੰ ਜਵਾਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਅਸੀਂ ਬਾਗ ਦੇ ਰੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਫ਼ਲ ਖਾ ਸੱਕਦੇ ਹਾਂ।
And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
3 ਪਰ ਇੱਕ ਰੁੱਖ ਹੈ ਜਿਸਦੇ ਫ਼ਲ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਖ਼ਾਣੇ ਚਾਹੀਦੇ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਸੀ, ‘ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਰੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਫ਼ਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਖਾਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਬਾਗ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚਕਾਰ ਹੈ। ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਰੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਹੱਥ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਾਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ, ਨਹੀਂ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮਾਰੇ ਜਾਓਂਗੇ।’”
But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
4 ਪਰ ਸੱਪ ਨੇ ਔਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮਰੋਂਗੇ ਨਹੀਂ।
And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
5 ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਰੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਫ਼ਲ ਖਾ ਲਿਆ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਵਰਗੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੋਂਗੇ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜਾਣ ਜਾਵੋਂਗੇ ਕਿ ਕੀ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਕੀ ਬੁਰਾ।”
For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
6 ਔਰਤ ਨੇ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਰੁੱਖ ਬੜਾ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਫ਼ਲ ਖਾਣ ਲਈ ਚੰਗਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਕਿ ਰੁੱਖ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਆਣੀ ਬਣਾ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਔਰਤ ਨੇ ਰੁੱਖ ਤੋਂ ਫ਼ਲ ਤੋੜਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਖਾ ਲਿਆ। ਉਸਦਾ ਪਤੀ ਵੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸੀ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਫ਼ਲ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਖਾਧਾ।
And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
7 ਫ਼ੇਰ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਆਦਮੀ ਅਤੇ ਔਰਤ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਵੇਖ ਸੱਕਦੇ ਸਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਨੰਗੇ ਸਨ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਅੰਜੀਰ ਦੇ ਕੁਝ ਪੱਤੇ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਉਂ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੱਪੜਿਆਂ ਵਾਂਗੂ ਪਹਿਨ ਲਿਆ।
And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
8 ਦਿਨ ਦੇ ਸੁਹਾਵਨੇ ਸਮੇਂ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਬਾਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੈਰ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਆਦਮ ਅਤੇ ਔਰਤ ਨੇ ਉਸਦੀ ਆਹਟ ਸੁਣੀ, ਅਤੇ ਬਾਗ ਦੇ ਰੁੱਖਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਛੁੱਪ ਗਏ।
And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden.
9 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਆਦਮ ਨੂੰ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਦਿੱਤੀ, “ਕਿੱਥੇ ਹੈਂ ਤੂੰ?”
And the Lord God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?
10 ਆਦਮ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਬਾਗ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੁਰਨ ਫ਼ਿਰਨ ਦੀ ਆਹਟ ਸੁਣਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਡਰ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਮੈਂ ਨੰਗਾ ਸੀ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਛੁਪ ਗਿਆ।”
And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.
11 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕਿਸਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਨੰਗਾ ਹੈਂ? ਕੀ ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਖਾਸ ਰੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਫ਼ਲ ਖਾਧਾ? ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਰੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਫ਼ਲ ਨਾ ਖਾਵੀਂ!”
And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?
12 ਆਦਮੀ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਜਿਹੜੀ ਔਰਤ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਸਾਜੀ ਸੀ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਰੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਫ਼ਲ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਖਾ ਲਿਆ।”
And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.
13 ਤਾਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਔਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਤੂੰ ਕੀ ਕਰ ਬੈਠੀ ਹੈਂ?” ਔਰਤ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਸੱਪ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਗੁਮਰਾਹ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਫ਼ਲ ਖਾ ਲਿਆ।”
And the Lord God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.
14 ਇਸ ਲਈ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਸੱਪ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਤੂੰ ਇਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਮੰਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਮੰਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾ ਵਾਪਰਨਗੀਆਂ। ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੋਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਜਾਨਵਰ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਮੰਦਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਤੈਨੂੰ ਢਿੱਡ ਭਾਰ ਰੀਂਗਣਾ ਪਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਜੀਵਨ ਭਰ ਲਈ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਖਾਣੀ ਪਵੇਗੀ।
And the Lord God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:
15 ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਔਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਦੂਜੇ ਦੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣ ਬਣਾ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ। ਤੇਰੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਇੱਕ ਦੂਜੇ ਦੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣ ਹੋਣਗੇ। ਉਸਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਤੇਰਾ ਸਿਰ ਕੁਚਲੇਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੈਰ ਨੂੰ ਡਸੇਂਗਾ।”
And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
16 ਫ਼ੇਰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਔਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੂੰ ਗਰਭਵਤੀ ਹੋਵੇਂਗੀ, ਅਤੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੂੰ ਬੱਚੇ ਜਣੇਂਗੀ, ਤੈਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਦਰਦ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਚਾਹੇਂਗੀ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਰਾਜ ਕਰੇਗਾ।”
Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.
17 ਫ਼ੇਰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਆਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ, ਕਿ ਓਸ ਰੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਫ਼ਲ ਨਾ ਖਾਵੀਂ। ਪਰ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਸੁਣਕੇ ਓਸ ਰੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਫ਼ਲ ਖਾ ਲਿਆ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਤੇਰੀ ਖਾਤਰ ਮੈਂ ਧਰਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਰਾਪ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ। ਤੈਂਨੂੰ ਧਰਤੀ ਤੋਂ ਭੋਜਨ ਲੈਣ ਲਈ ਜੀਵਨ ਭਰ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਕਰਨੀ ਪਵੇਗੀ।
And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;
18 ਧਰਤੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਖਰ ਪਤਵਾਰ ਤੇ ਕੰਡੇ ਉਗਾਵੇਗੀ। ਅਤੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਜੰਗਲੀ ਪੌਦੇ ਖਾਣੇ ਪੈਣਗੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਖੇਤਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਉੱਗਦੇ ਹਨ।
Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;
19 ਤੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਭੋਜਨ ਲਈ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਕਰਨੀ ਪਵੇਗੀ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੀਕ ਕਿ ਤੇਰਾ ਚਿਹਰਾ ਮੁੜਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਭਿੱਜ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ। ਤੈਨੂੰ ਮਰਨ ਤੀਕ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਕਰਨੀ ਪਵੇਗੀ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਤੂੰ ਖਾਕ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਂਗਾ। ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਖਾਕ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਜਿਆ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਮਰਕੇ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਤੋਂ ਤੂੰ ਖਾਕ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।”
In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.
20 ਆਦਮ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਨੂੰ ਹੱਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਆਦਮ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਨਾਮ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਹੱਵਾਹ ਹਰ ਓਸ ਬੰਦੇ ਦੀ ਮਾਂ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਕਦੇ ਜੀਵਿਆ ਸੀ।
And Adam called his wife’s name Eve; because she was the mother of all living.
21 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਜਾਨਵਰਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਖੱਲਾਂ ਲਈਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਤੇ ਉਸਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਲਈ ਕੱਪੜੇ ਬਣਾਏ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਹ ਕੱਪੜੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਪਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ।
Unto Adam also and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins, and clothed them.
22 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਦੇਖੋ, ਆਦਮੀ ਸਾਡੇ ਵਾਂਗ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ-ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਕੀ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕੀ ਮਾੜਾ ਅਤੇ ਹੁਣ ਸੰਭਵ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਆਦਮ ਜੀਵਨ ਬਿਰੱਖ ਦਾ ਫ਼ਲ ਖਾ ਲਵੇ। ਜੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਰੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਫ਼ਲ ਖਾ ਲਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਜਿਉਂਦਾ ਰਹੇਗਾ।”
And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:
23 ਇਸ ਲਈ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਆਦਮ ਨੂੰ ਅਦਨ ਦੇ ਬਾਗ਼ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਕੱਢ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਆਦਮ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਹੁਣ ਲਈ ਮਜਬੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਉਹ ਸਾਜਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ।
Therefore the Lord God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.
24 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਆਦਮ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਗ਼ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੱਢ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਬਾਗ਼ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਦੀ ਰਾਖੀ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਕਰੂਬੀ ਦੂਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੈਨਾਤ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਉੱਥੇ ਅਗਨੀ ਦੀ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਰੱਖ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਇਹ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਜੀਵਨ ਬਿਰੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਦੀ ਰਾਖੀ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਹਰ ਪਾਸੇ ਲਿਸ਼ਕਦੀ ਸੀ।
So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.
