Leviticus 21:7
“ਇੱਕ ਜਾਜਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਲਈ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਜਾਜਕ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੇਸਵਾ, ਕਿਸੇ ਕਲੰਕਤ ਔਰਤ ਜਾਂ ਤਲਾਕਸ਼ੁਦਾ ਔਰਤ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ਾਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ।

Leviticus 21:8
ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਜਾਜਕ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਪਾਕ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਪੇਸ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ। ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਭੋਜਨ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹਾਂ। ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਬਣਾਉਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
Deuteronomy 24:1
“ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਕੋਈ ਬੰਦਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਔਰਤ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ਾਦੀ ਕਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਗੁਪਤ ਗੱਲ ਦਾ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗੇ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਪਸੰਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ। ਜੇ ਉਹ ਬੰਦਾ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਤਲਾਕ ਦੇ ਕਾਗਜ਼ ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਣੇ ਚਾਹੀਦੇ ਹਨ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਭੇਜ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
Isaiah 50:1
ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਗੁਨਾਹ ਕਾਰਣ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਮਿਲੀ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, “ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕੋ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਖਦੇ ਹੋ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਮਾਤਾ, ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਨੂੰ ਤਲਾਕ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਉਹ ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਪਰਚਾ ਕਿੱਥੋ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਸਾਬਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਤਲਾਕ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ? ਮੇਰੇ ਬਚਿਓ, ਕੀ ਮੈਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਦਾ ਕਰਜ਼ਾ ਦੇਣਾ ਸੀ? ਕੀ ਮੈਂ ਕਰਜ਼ਾ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਕੁਝ ਵੇਚ ਦਿੱਤਾ? ਨਹੀਂ! ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਵੇਚੇ ਗਏ ਸੀ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੰਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤੇ ਸਨ। ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਮਾਤਾ, ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਮੰਦੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਕਾਰਣ ਦੂਰ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕੀਤੇ ਸਨ।
1 Timothy 3:11
ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਦੇ ਯੋਗ ਹੋਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਣੀਆਂ ਚਾਹੀਦੀਆਂ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਦੂਸਰਿਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਮੰਦਾ ਬੋਲਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਉੱਤੇ ਸੰਜਮ ਹੋਣ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਬਣਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਹਰ ਗੱਲੋਂ ਇਤਬਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸੱਕੇ।
