ਇੱਕ ਸਮੇਂ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਖਾਸ ਸੁਪਨਾ ਆਇਆ। ਬਾਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਸੁਪਨੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ। ਇਸਤੋਂ ਮਗਰੋਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਭਰਾ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਵੱਧੇਰੇ ਨਫ਼ਰਤ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗੇ।

ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਦੇ ਭਰਾ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਈਰਖਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹੇ। ਪਰ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਦੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਨੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸੋਚ ਵਿੱਚਾਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਸੋਚਕੇ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਹੋਣ ਲੱਗਾ ਕਿ ਇਸਦਾ ਕੀ ਅਰਥ ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦਾ।

ਯਾਕੂਬ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਸੁਪਨਾ ਆਇਆ। ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਪਨਾ ਆਇਆ ਕਿ ਇੱਕ ਪੌੜੀ ਸੀ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਲਗੀ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਤੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਸੀ। ਯਾਕੂਬ ਨੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਦੂਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਪੌੜੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਚਢ਼ਦਿਆਂ ਉੱਤਰਦਿਆਂ ਦੇਖਿਆ।

ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕੀਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਬਹੁਤ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਲੜੇ। ਤੀਰਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਲੋਕ ਉਸੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਹੋ ਗਏ।
