ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਨਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਾਖਲ ਹੋਣ ਦੀ ਇਜਾਜ਼ਤ ਨਹੀਂ “ਜੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਖਿਆ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਸੁਣਿਆ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਕਰੋਧਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕਰੜੀ ਸੌਂਹ ਚੁੱਕੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ,

ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋਂ 38 ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਮਗਰੋਂ ਦੀ ਹੈ ਜਦੋਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਕਾਦੇਸ਼ ਬਰਨੇਆ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਜ਼ਾਰਦ ਵਾਦੀ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ। ਸਾਡੇ ਡੇਰੇ ਦੇ ਉਸ ਪੀੜੀ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਲੜਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਮਰ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਸਨ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਸੌਂਹ ਚੁੱਕੀ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਵਾਪਰੇਗੀ।
Psalm 95:11
ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਸਾਂ, ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਸੌਂਹ ਖਾਧੀ ਕਿ, ‘ਉਹ ਮੇਰੀ ਅਰਾਮ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਾਖਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਣਗੇ।’”

ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਰੂਬਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਹੋਰ ਇਕਰਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ। ਮੈਂ ਇਕਰਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਤੇ ਲੈ ਜਾਵਾਂਗਾ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਸਾਂ। ਉਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਰੀ ਹੋਈ ਚੰਗੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੇਸਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਸੀ!
Hebrews 3:8
ਤਾਂ ਬੀਤੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਦੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਜ਼ਿੱਦੀ ਨਾ ਬਣੋ, ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਸੀ। ਉਹੀ ਸਮਾਂ ਸੀ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਉਜਾੜ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਰੱਖਿਆ।
