2 Kings 14:24
ਯਾਰਾਬੁਆਮ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤੇ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਭੈੜੇ ਸਨ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਨਬਾਟ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯਾਰਾਬੁਆਮ ਦੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਮੂੰਹ ਨਾ ਮੜਿਆ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਤੋਂ ਕਰਵਾਏ ਸਨ।

ਤਾਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਲਾਹਕਾਰਾਂ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਸਲਾਹ ਲਿੱਤੀ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੀ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿੱਚਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਕੀਤੇ। ਤਾਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਸੋਨੇ ਦੇ ਦੋ ਵੱਛੇ ਬਣਾਏ। ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਯਾਰਾਬੁਆਮ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕਰਨ ਜਾਣ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਨਹੀਂ। ਵੇਖੋ, ਹੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ, ਆਪਣੇ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਮਿਸਰ ਦੇਸ ਤੋਂ ਕੱਢ ਲਿਆਏ!”

ਫ਼ਿਰ ਵੀ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਯਾਰਾਬੁਆਮ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਦੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਛੱਡਿਆ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਤੋਂ ਕਰਵਾਏ ਸਨ, ਇਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਚੱਲਦੇ ਰਹੇ, ਬਾਜ ਨਾ ਆਏ ਸਗੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਾਮਰਿਯਾ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਉਹ ਅਸ਼ੈਰਾਹ ਦੇ ਟੁੰਡ ਵੀ ਨਾ ਢਾਏ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਕਿ ਉੱਥੇ ਥੰਮਾਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਖੜ੍ਹੇ ਸਨ।

ਇਸਨੇ ਉਹੀ ਕੁਝ ਕੀਤਾ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਭੈੜਾ ਸੀ। ਉਸਨੇ ਨਬਾਟ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯਾਰਾਬੁਆਮ ਦੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਤੋਂ ਕਰਵਾਏ ਸਨ, ਮੂੰਹ ਨਾ ਮੋੜਿਆ। ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਚੱਲਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ।
2 Kings 21:6
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਦੀ ਲੰਘਾਇਆ। ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਨਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਵੱਖੋ-ਵੱਖ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਅਪਣਾਏ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਟੂਣੇ-ਟੋਟਕੇ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਜਾਦੂਗਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵਾਸਤਾ ਰੱਖਿਆ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਬਦ-ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਕੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਗ਼ਲਤ ਮੰਨਦਾ ਸੀ।
Psalm 106:20
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਹਿਮਾਮਈ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਘਾਹ ਖਾਣੇ ਬਲਦ ਦੀ ਮੂਰਤ ਬਦਲੇ ਵਟਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
