Ezekiel 18:20
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਬੰਦਾ ਪਾਪ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹੀ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ! ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੇ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲੇਗੀ ਪਿਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਦੇ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਲਈ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲੇਗੀ। ਨੇਕ ਬੰਦੇ ਦੀ ਨੇਕੀ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਓਸੇ ਦੀ ਹੀ ਹੈ। ਅਤੇ ਮਾੜੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਦੀ ਬਦੀ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਉਸੇ ਦੀ ਹੈ।
Ezekiel 18:13
ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕਿਸੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਮੰਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਪੈਸਾ ਉਧਾਰ ਲੈਣ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਪੈ ਜਾਵੇ। ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੈਸਾ ਉਧਾਰ ਦੇ ਦੇਵੇ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਉਧਾਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਸੂਦ ਅਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਰ ਕਰੇਗਾ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਮੰਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜੀਵੇਗਾ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਸਨ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਖੁਦ ਹੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰ ਹੈ।

Exodus 34:7
ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਹਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਪੀੜੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਦਰਸਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਗਲਤੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਫ਼ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੋਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਦੇਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਭੁੱਲਦਾ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ, ਸਗੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤ, ਪੋਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਪੜਪੋਤੇ ਵੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਮੰਦੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਲਈ, ਦੁੱਖ ਭੋਗਣਗੇ।”

“ਕਿਸੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਝੂਠੇ ਦੋਸ਼ ਨਾ ਲਾਓ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਬੇਕਸੂਰ ਜਾਂ ਇਮਾਨਦਾਰ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਮੌਤ ਦੀ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਨਾ ਦੇਵੋ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਬਦ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਬੇਕਸੂਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਮਝਾਂਗਾ।
