1 Corinthians 7:11
ਪਰ ਜੋ ਪਤਨੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੋਬਾਰਾ ਵਿਆਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਵਾਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ। ਜਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਤੀ ਵੱਲ ਵਾਪਿਸ ਪਰਤ ਜਾਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਵੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਨੂੰ ਤਲਾਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ।

ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਗੁਨਾਹ ਕਾਰਣ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਮਿਲੀ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, “ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕੋ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਖਦੇ ਹੋ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਮਾਤਾ, ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਨੂੰ ਤਲਾਕ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਉਹ ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਪਰਚਾ ਕਿੱਥੋ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਸਾਬਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਤਲਾਕ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ? ਮੇਰੇ ਬਚਿਓ, ਕੀ ਮੈਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਦਾ ਕਰਜ਼ਾ ਦੇਣਾ ਸੀ? ਕੀ ਮੈਂ ਕਰਜ਼ਾ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਕੁਝ ਵੇਚ ਦਿੱਤਾ? ਨਹੀਂ! ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਵੇਚੇ ਗਏ ਸੀ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੰਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤੇ ਸਨ। ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਮਾਤਾ, ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਮੰਦੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਕਾਰਣ ਦੂਰ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕੀਤੇ ਸਨ।
Jeremiah 3:1
“ਜੋ ਕੋਈ ਬੰਦਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਨੂੰ ਤਲਾਕ ਦਿੰਦਾ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਕੀ ਉਹ ਬੰਦਾ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਵੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਵੱਲ ਆ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ? ਨਹੀਂ! ਜੇ ਉਹ ਬੰਦਾ ਉਸ ਔਰਤ ਕੋਲ ਵਾਪਸ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਪਰਦੂਸ਼ਿਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ। ਯਹੂਦਾਹ, ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਵੇਸਵਾ ਵਰਗਾ ਵਿਹਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ। ਅਤੇ ਹੁਣ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਵਾਪਸ ਆਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈਂ!” ਇਹ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸੀ।

ਕੁਝ ਫ਼ਰੀਸੀ ਉਸ ਕੋਲ ਆਏ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਮੂੰਹੋ ਕੁਝ ਗਲਤ ਆਖੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, “ਕੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਵਾਜਿਬ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਨੂੰ ਤਲਾਕ ਦੇਵੇ?”
