Deuteronomy 23
1 ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੁੜ ਸੱਕਦੇ ਹਨ “ਉਹ ਬੰਦਾ ਜਿਸਦਾ ਅੰਡਕੋਸ਼ ਚਿਥਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ ਜਾਂ ਉਸਦਾ ਜਿਨਸੀ ਅੰਗ ਕਟ ਗਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਸਭਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦਾ।
2 ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਅਣਵਿਆਹੇ ਮਾਪਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਬੱਚਾ ਹੋਵੇ, ਉਹ ਵੀ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਸਮਾਜ ਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦਾ। ਉਸਦੀ 10ਵੀਂ ਪੀੜੀ ਦੇ ਉੱਤਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਵੀ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਸਮਾਜ ਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦੇ।
3 “ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਅੰਮੋਨੀ ਜਾਂ ਮੋਆਬੀ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਸਭਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ 10ਵੀ ਪੀੜੀ ਦੇ ਉੱਤਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਜਾਂ ਉਸਤੋਂ ਵੱਧੇਰੇ ਵੀ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਸਮਾਜ ਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦੇ।
4 ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਅੰਮੋਨੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੋਆਬੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਉਸ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਵੇਲੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮਿਸਰ ਤੋਂ ਆਏ ਸੀ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਰੋਟੀ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੇਣ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਬਿਲਆਮ ਨੂੰ ਪੈਸੇ ਦੇਕੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸਰਾਪ ਦੇਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ। (ਬਿਲਆਮ ਮਸੋਪੋਤਾਮੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਫ਼ਤੋਂਰ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਤੋਂ ਬਓਰ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ।)
5 ਪਰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਨੇ ਬਿਲਆਮ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੁਣੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਸਰਾਪ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਅਸੀਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਦਲ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
6 ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਅੰਮੋਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਮੋਆਬੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਸਥਾਪਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ। ਜਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜਿਉਂਦੇ ਹੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਦੋਸਤੀ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ।
1 He that is wounded in the stones, or hath his privy member cut off, shall not enter into the congregation of the Lord.
2 A bastard shall not enter into the congregation of the Lord; even to his tenth generation shall he not enter into the congregation of the Lord.
3 An Ammonite or Moabite shall not enter into the congregation of the Lord; even to their tenth generation shall they not enter into the congregation of the Lord for ever:
4 Because they met you not with bread and with water in the way, when ye came forth out of Egypt; and because they hired against thee Balaam the son of Beor of Pethor of Mesopotamia, to curse thee.
5 Nevertheless the Lord thy God would not hearken unto Balaam; but the Lord thy God turned the curse into a blessing unto thee, because the Lord thy God loved thee.
6 Thou shalt not seek their peace nor their prosperity all thy days for ever.

4 ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਅੰਮੋਨੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੋਆਬੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਉਸ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਵੇਲੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮਿਸਰ ਤੋਂ ਆਏ ਸੀ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਰੋਟੀ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੇਣ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਬਿਲਆਮ ਨੂੰ ਪੈਸੇ ਦੇਕੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸਰਾਪ ਦੇਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ। (ਬਿਲਆਮ ਮਸੋਪੋਤਾਮੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਫ਼ਤੋਂਰ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਤੋਂ ਬਓਰ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ।)

Nevertheless the Lord thy God would not hearken unto Balaam; but the Lord thy God turned the curse into a blessing unto thee, because the Lord thy God loved thee.
6 ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਅੰਮੋਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਮੋਆਬੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਸਥਾਪਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ। ਜਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜਿਉਂਦੇ ਹੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਦੋਸਤੀ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ।
Thou shalt not seek their peace nor their prosperity all thy days for ever.
