Deuteronomy 21 - WBT (Punjabi)

1 If one shall be found slain in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee to possess it, lying in the field, and it be not known who hath slain him:ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਬੰਦਾ ਕਤਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ “ਉਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ, ਜਿਹੜੀ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਕੋਈ ਬੰਦਾ ਖੇਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਤਲ ਹੋਇਆ ਮਿਲ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸਨੇ ਕਤਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।

2 Then thy elders and thy judges shall come forth, and they shall measure to the cities which are around him that is slain:ਤਦ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਆਂਕਾਰਾ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਹਰ ਆਕੇ ਲਾਸ਼ ਦੇ ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦੇ ਨਗਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦੂਰੀ ਮਾਪਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ।

3 And it shall be that the city which is next to the slain man, even the elders of that city shall take a heifer which hath not been wrought with, and which hath not drawn in the yoke;ਜਦੋਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਪਤਾ ਚੱਲ ਜਾਵੇ ਕਿ ਕਿਹੜਾ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਮੁਰਦਾ ਬੰਦੇ ਦੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਨੇੜੇ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੱਗ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਗਾਂ ਲਿਆਉਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਗਾਂ ਹੋਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਕਦੇ ਸੂਈ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ। ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਗਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੰਮ ਲਈ ਵੀ ਕਦੇ ਵਰਤਿਆ ਨਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ।

4 And the elders of that city shall bring down the heifer to a rough valley, which is neither tilled nor sown, and shall strike off the heifer's neck there in the valley;ਉਸ ਨਗਰ ਦੇ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਗਾਂ ਵਗਦੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਵਾਦੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਆਉਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਉਹ ਵਾਦੀ ਹੋਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਕਦੇ ਵਾਹੀ ਨਾ ਗਈ ਹੋਵੇ ਜਾਂ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੁਝ ਬੀਜਿਆ ਨਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਜਗ਼੍ਹਾ ਅਤੇ ਗਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਰਦਨ ਤੋੜ ਦੇਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ।

5 And the priests the sons of Levi shall come near (for them the LORD thy God hath chosen to minister to him, and to bless in the name of the LORD) and by their word shall every controversy and every stroke be tried;ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਉੱਤਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ, ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਉੱਥੇ ਜਾਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। (ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਸੀਸ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਚੁਣਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਜਾਜਕ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਦਾ ਨਿਆਂ ਕਰਨਗੇ ਕਿ, ਹਰ ਉਸ ਝਗੜ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਜ਼ਖਮੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇ, ਕਿਹੜਾ ਸਹੀ ਹੈ।)

6 And all the elders of that city that are next to the slain man, shall wash their hands over the heifer that is beheaded in the valley:ਲਾਸ਼ ਦੇ ਨਜ਼ਦੀਕੀ ਨਗਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਗਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥ ਧੋਣੇ ਚਾਹੀਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਸਦੀ ਗਰਦਨ ਉਸ ਵਾਦੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੋੜੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ।

7 And they shall answer and say, Our hands have not shed this blood, neither have our eyes seen it.ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਅਵੱਸ਼ ਆਖਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, ‘ਅਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਾਰਿਆ। ਅਤੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਪਰਦਿਆਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇਖਿਆ।

8 Be merciful, O LORD, to thy people Israel, whom thou hast redeemed, and lay not innocent blood to the charge of thy people Israel. And the blood shall be forgiven them.ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਆਪਣੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਪਰਾਸਚਿਤ ਕਰ। ਤੂੰ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਇਆ ਸੀ। ਸਾਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਬੇਗੁਨਾਹ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਦੇ ਕਤਲ ਦਾ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਨਾ ਠਹਿਰਾ।’ ਇਉਂ ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਬੇਗੁਨਾਹ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਦੇ ਕਤਲ ਲਈ ਮੁਆਫ਼ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਜਾਣਗੇ।

9 So shalt thou remove the guilt of innocent blood from among you, when thou shalt do that which is right in the sight of the LORD.ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਹੀ ਗੱਲ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹੋਵੋਂਗੇ। ਅਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਟੋਲੇ ਤੋਂ ਉਹ ਦੋਸ਼ ਮਿਟਾ ਦਿਉਂਗੇ।

10 When thou goest forth to war against thy enemies, and the LORD thy God hath delivered them into thy hands, and thou hast taken them captive,ਜੰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਿਰਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਔਰਤਾਂ “ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣਾ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਜੰਗ ਲੜੋ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਰਾ ਦੇਵੇ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣਾ ਨੂੰ ਗਿਰਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕਰਕੇ ਲੈ ਆਵੋ।

11 And thou seest among the captives a beautiful woman, and hast a desire to her, that thou wouldest have her for thy wife:ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਗਿਰਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਖੂਬਸੂਰਤ ਔਰਤ ਦੇਖੋ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਬਨਾਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹੋਵੋ।

12 Then thou shalt bring her home to thy house, and she shall shave her head, and pare her nails:ਤਾਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਲੈ ਆਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਸਦਾ ਸਿਰ ਮੁੰਨ ਦਿਉ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਹੁਂ ਕੱਟ ਦਿਉ।

13 And she shall put off from her the raiment of her captivity, and shall remain in thy house, and bewail her father and her mother a full month: and after that, thou shalt go in to her, and be her husband, and she shall be thy wife.ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਕੱਪੜੇ ਉਤਾਰ ਦੇਣੇ ਚਾਹੀਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪਹਿਨੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਦਰਸ਼ਾਉਂਦੇ ਸਨ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜੰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਫ਼ੜਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਠਹਿਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਭਰ ਲਈ ਸੋਗ ਮਨਾਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸਤੋਂ ਮਗਰੋਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਕੋਲ ਜਾ ਸੱਕਦੇ ਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਤੀ ਬਣ ਸੱਕਦੇ ਹੋ। ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਬਣ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ।

14 And it shall be, if thou shalt have no delight in her, then thou shalt let her go whither she will; but thou shalt not sell her at all for money; thou shalt not make merchandise of her, because thou hast humbled her.ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਤਲਾਕ ਦੇ ਦਿਉ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਕਰ ਦਿਉਂਗੇ। ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਚਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਇੱਕ ਗੁਲਾਮ ਵਰਗਾ ਸਲੂਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ। ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸਦਾ ਨਿਰਾਦਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।

15 If a man shall have two wives, one beloved, and another hated, and they have borne him children, both the beloved and the hated; and if the first-born son be hers that was hated:ਵੱਡਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ “ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿਸੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਦੋ ਪਤਨੀਆਂ ਹੋਣ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਇੱਕ ਪਤਨੀ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਜੀ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੱਧੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੋਵੇ। ਦੋਹਾਂ ਪਤਨੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬੱਚੇ ਵੀ ਹੋਣ। ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਬੱਚਾ ਉਸ ਪਤਨੀ ਦਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ।

16 Then it shall be, when he maketh his sons to inherit that which he hath, that he may not prefer the son of the beloved first-born, before the son of the hated, which is indeed the first-born:ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਬੰਦਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਜ਼ਾਇਦਾਦ ਆਪਣੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੰਡੇਗਾ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦਾ, ਉਹ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਉਸਦੀ ਦੂਸਰੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਦੇ ਪਹਿਲੋਠੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਜਾਣੀਆਂ ਚਾਹੀਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ।

17 But he shall acknowledge the son of the hated for the first-born, by giving him a double portion of all that he hath: for he is the beginning of his strength; the right of the first-born is his.ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਦੇ ਪਹਿਲੋਠੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਵਾਨ ਕਰ ਲੈਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਦਾ ਦੂਹਰਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਉਸਦਾ ਪਹਿਲੋਠਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਪਹਿਲੋਠੇ ਦੇ ਹੱਕ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਉਸ ਇੱਕਲੇ ਦੇ ਹਨ।

18 If a man shall have a stubborn and rebellious son, who will not obey the voice of his father, or the voice of his mother, and who, when they have chastened him, will not hearken to them:ਜਿਹੜੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਨਾ ਮੰਨਣ “ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿਸੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਦਾ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੋਵੇ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਜ਼ਿੱਦੀ ਹੋਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਮੰਨਣ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਰੇ। ਇਹ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਾਤਾ-ਪਿਤਾ ਦੀ ਆਗਿਆ ਦਾ ਪਾਲਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ। ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਵੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੁਣਦਾ।

19 Then shall his father and his mother lay hold on him, and bring him out to the elders of his city, and to the gate of his place;ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਾਤਾ-ਪਿਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਸਬੇ ਦੇ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਕਸਬੇ ਦੀ ਸਭਾ ਵਾਲੀ ਥਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਲੈ ਜਾਣ।

20 And they shall say to the elders of his city, This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton, and a drunkard.ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਸਬੇ ਦੇ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਆਖਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ: ‘ਸਾਡਾ ਇੱਕ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਜ਼ਿੱਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਡਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੰਨਦਾ। ਅਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਵੀ ਕਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਉਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ। ਉਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਖਾਂਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਪੀਂਦਾ ਹੈ।’

21 And all the men of his city shall stone him with stones, that he may die: so shalt thou remove evil from among you, and all Israel shall hear, and fear.ਤਾਂ ਕਸਬੇ ਦੇ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਪੱਥਰ ਮਾਰ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿੱਚਕਾਰੋਂ ਬਦੀ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੋਂਗੇ। ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਸੁਨਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਭੈਭੀਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਣਗੇ।

22 And if a man shall have committed a sin worthy of death, and he must be put to death, and thou shalt hang him on a tree:ਮਾਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਅਤੇ ਰੁੱਖ ਉੱਤੇ ਟੰਗੇ ਮੁਜ਼ਰਮ “ਕੋਈ ਬੰਦਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਜ਼ੁਰਮ ਦਾ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸਦੀ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਮੌਤ ਹੋਵੇ। ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਲੋਕ ਉਸਦੀ ਲਾਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਰੁੱਖ ਉੱਤੇ ਟੰਗ ਸੱਕਦੇ ਹਨ।

23 His body shall not remain all night upon the tree, but thou shalt in any wise bury him that day; (for he that is hanged is accursed of God;) that thy land may not be defiled, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਲਾਸ਼ ਸਾਰੀ ਰਾਤ ਰੁੱਖ ਉੱਤੇ ਟਂਗੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿਣ ਦੇਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ। ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਸੇ ਦਿਨ ਦਫ਼ਨਾ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ। ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਆਦਮੀ ਰੁੱਖ ਉੱਤੇ ਲਟਕਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਰਾਪਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਪਲੀਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ।
