Deuteronomy 20:19
“ਜਦੋਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਜੰਗ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹੋ, ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਲੰਮੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੱਕ ਉਸ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਨੂੰ ਘੇਰਾ ਪਾਉਣਾ ਪਵੇ। ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦੇ ਫ਼ਲਦਾਰ ਰੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੱਟਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਰੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਫ਼ਲ ਖਾ ਸੱਕਦੇ ਹੋ ਪਰ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੱਟਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ। ਇਹ ਰੁੱਖ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਜੰਗ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ!
