Amos 2:9
“ਪਰ ਇਹ ਮੈਂ ਹੀ ਸੀ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਅਮੋਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਗਿਓ ਬਰਬਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਕਿ ਦਿਆਰ ਦੇ ਦ੍ਰੱਖਤਾਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਲੰਬੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਬਲੂਤ ਦੇ ਰੁੱਖਾਂ ਵਰਗੇ ਤਕੜੇ। ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਉੱਪਰ ਫ਼ਲਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਹੇਠਲੀਆਂ ਜੜਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਸ ਕੀਤਾ।

| of the cedars, | גָּבְה֔וֹ | gobhô | ɡove-HOH |
| he and | וְחָסֹ֥ן | wĕḥāsōn | veh-ha-SONE |
| was strong | ה֖וּא | hûʾ | hoo |
| oaks; the as | כָּֽאַלּוֹנִ֑ים | kāʾallônîm | ka-ah-loh-NEEM |
| yet I destroyed | וָאַשְׁמִ֤יד | wāʾašmîd | va-ash-MEED |
| fruit his | פִּרְיוֹ֙ | piryô | peer-YOH |
| from above, | מִמַּ֔עַל | mimmaʿal | mee-MA-al |
| and his roots | וְשָׁרָשָׁ֖יו | wĕšārāšāyw | veh-sha-ra-SHAV |
| from beneath. | מִתָּֽחַת׃ | mittāḥat | mee-TA-haht |
