Acts 8 - ASV (Punjabi)

1 And Saul was consenting unto his death. And there arose on that day a great persecution against the church which was in Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles.ਸੌਲੂਸ ਨੇ ਇਸਤੀਫ਼ਾਨ ਦੇ ਮਾਰੇ ਜਾਣ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੀ ਮੰਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਕੁਝ ਧਰਮੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸਤੀਫ਼ਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਦਫ਼ਨਾਇਆ। ਉਹ ਉਸ ਲਈ ਬੜੀ ਉੱਚੀ ਕੁਰਲਾਏ। ਨਿਹਚਾਵਾਨਾਂ ਲਈ ਕਸ਼ਟ ਉਸ ਦਿਨ, ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿਹਚਾਵਾਨ ਕਲੀਸਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਸਤਾਣਾ ਸ਼ੂਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਤਸੀਹੇ ਦਿੱਤੇ। ਸੌਲੁਸ ਵੀ ਇਸ ਕਲੀਸਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ। ਤਾਂ ਸੌਲੁਸ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਿਹਚਾਵਾਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਘਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਘਸੀਟ ਕੇ ਬਾਹਰ ਕੱਢ ਕੇ ਜੇਲ੍ਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ। ਸਾਰੇ ਨਿਹਚਾਵਾਨ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਛੱਡ ਗਏ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਰਸੂਲ ਹੀ, ਉੱਥੇ ਰਹੇ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਹਚਾਵਾਨ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਾਮਰਿਯਾ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੂਦਿਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਖੋ-ਵੱਖ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਤੇ ਜਾ ਟਿਕੇ।

2 And devout men buried Stephen, and made great lamentation over him.

3 But Saul laid waste the church, entering into every house, and dragging men and women committed them to prison.

4 They therefore that were scattered abroad, went about preaching the word.ਨਿਹਚਾਵਾਨ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹਰ ਪਾਸੇ ਫ਼ੈਲ ਗਏ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਵੀ ਗਏ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉੱਥੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖੁਸ਼ਖਬਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ।

5 And Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and proclaimed unto them the Christ.ਫ਼ਿਲਿਪੁੱਸ ਦਾ ਸਾਮਰਿਯਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਕਰਨਾ ਫ਼ਿਲਿਪੁੱਸ ਸਾਮਰਿਯਾ ਦੇ ਨਗਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਕੇ ਮਸੀਹ ਬਾਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗਾ।

6 And the multitudes gave heed with one accord unto the things that were spoken by Philip, when they heard, and saw the signs which he did.ਉੱਥੋਂ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ ਸੁਣੇ ਅਤੇ, ਉਹ ਕਰਿਸ਼ਮੇ ਵੀ ਵੇਖੇ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ।

7 For `from' many of those that had unclean spirits, they came out, crying with a loud voice: and many that were palsied, and that were lame, were healed.ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਭਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਆਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਵਾਸ ਸੀ, ਪਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਭਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਆਤਮਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਨਿਕਲਣ ਲਈ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਜਦੋਂ ਆਤਮੇ ਬਾਹਰ ਨਿਕਲੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬੜਾ ਸ਼ੋਰ ਮਚਾਇਆ। ਉੱਥੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰ ਅਤੇ ਲੰਗੜ੍ਹੇ ਲੋਕ ਵੀ ਸਨ, ਫ਼ਿਲਿਪੁੱਸ ਨੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਰਾਜੀ ਕੀਤਾ।

8 And there was much joy in that city.ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਭ ਕਾਰਣ ਬਹੁਤ ਖੁਸ਼ ਸਨ।

9 But there was a certain man, Simon by name, who beforetime in the city used sorcery, and amazed the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one:ਪਰ ਉਸ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਮਊਨ ਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਆਦਮੀ ਸੀ, ਫ਼ਿਲਿਪੁੱਸ ਦੇ ਉੱਥੇ ਆਉਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਉਹ ਜਾਦੂ ਕਰਕੇ ਉੱਥੋਂ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਆਖਦਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਕੋਈ ਮਹਾਂਪੁਰੱਖ ਹਾਂ।

10 to whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is that power of God which is called Great.ਉੱਥੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ, ਆਮ ਆਦਮੀ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਣ ਤੱਕ ਨੇ, ਉਸ ਵੱਲ ਧਿਆਨ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਇਸ ਆਦਮੀ ਕੋਲ ਰੱਬੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ‘ਮਹਾਂ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ’ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ।”

11 And they gave heed to him, because that of long time he had amazed them with his sorceries.ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਲੋਕ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਜਾਦੂ ਤੋਂ ਲੰਬੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੱਕ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਸਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਉਸਦਾ ਅਨੁਸਰਣ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।

12 But when they believed Philip preaching good tidings concerning the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.ਪਰ ਫ਼ਿਲਿਪੁੱਸ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਦੀ ਖੁਸ਼ਖਬਰੀ ਬਾਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਮਸੀਹ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਬਾਰੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ। ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਲਿਆ।

13 And Simon also himself believed: and being baptized, he continued with Philip; and beholding signs and great miracles wrought, he was amazed.ਸ਼ਮਊਨ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਲਿਆ। ਸ਼ਮਊਨ ਫ਼ਿਲਿਪੁੱਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਠਹਿਰਿਆ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਚਮਤਕਾਰੀ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਸ਼ਲੀ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਵੇਖੀਆਂ। ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਰਹਿ ਗਿਆ।

14 Now when the apostles that were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:ਰਸੂਲ ਅਜੇ ਵੀ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗ ਗਿਆ ਕਿ ਸਾਮਰਿਯਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਬੂਲ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਰਸੂਲਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਤਰਸ ਅਤੇ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਸਾਮਰਿਯਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਭੇਜਿਆ।

15 who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Spirit:ਜਦੋਂ ਪਤਰਸ ਅਤੇ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਆਏ ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਥੇ ਆਕੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਆਤਮਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਵੇ।

16 for as yet it was fallen upon none of them: only they had been baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus.ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਿਸੂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਂ ਤੇ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ, ਪਰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਆਤਮਾ ਅਜੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਇਆ ਸੀ। ਇਸੇ ਲਈ ਪਤਰਸ ਅਤੇ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ।

17 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.ਤਦ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੋਨਾਂ ਰਸੂਲਾਂ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥ ਰੱਖੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਆਤਮਾ ਮਿਲਿਆ।

18 Now when Simon saw that through the laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Spirit was given, he offered them money,ਸ਼ਮਊਨ ਨੇ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਆਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਤਦ ਹੋਈ, ਜਦ ਰਸੂਲਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੱਥ ਉਨ੍ਹਾ ਉੱਪਰ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਸ਼ਮਊਨ ਨੇ ਰਸੂਲਾਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਰੁਪਏ ਰੱਖੇ।

19 saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay my hands, he may receive the Holy Spirit.ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਮੈਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਇਹ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਦੇ ਦੇਵੋ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉੱਪਰ ਵੀ ਮੈਂ ਇਉਂ ਹੱਥ ਰੱਖਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਆਤਮਾ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਵੇ।”

20 But Peter said unto him, Thy silver perish with thee, because thou hast thought to obtain the gift of God with money.ਪਤਰਸ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਮਊਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਕਾਸ਼ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਧਨ, ਇੱਕਸਾਥ ਤਬਾਹ ਹੋ ਜਾਣ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਦਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਧਨ ਨਾਲ ਖਰੀਦਣ ਦੀ ਸੋਚੀ।

21 Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right before God.ਤੂੰ ਇਸ ਕੰਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਡਾ ਸਾਂਝੀਵਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਅੱਗੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਸਾਫ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।

22 Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray the Lord, if perhaps the thought of thy heart shall be forgiven thee.ਆਪਣਾ ਦਿਲ ਬਦਲ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਬਦਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਹਟ ਜਾ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰ, ਸ਼ਾਇਦ ਉਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੋਚਣ ਤੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਮੁਆਫ਼ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੇ।

23 For I see that thou art in the gall of bitterness and in the bond of iniquity.ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਵੇਖ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਪਾਪ ਦੇ ਖਿਆਲਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਈਰਖਾ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈਂ।”

24 And Simon answered and said, Pray ye for me to the Lord, that none of the things which ye have spoken come upon me.ਸ਼ਮਊਨ ਨੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਤੁਸੀਂ ਦੋਨੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰੋ, ਤਾਂ ਕਿ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਖਿਆ, ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਾ ਵਾਪਰੇ।”

25 They therefore, when they had testified and spoken the word of the Lord, returned to Jerusalem, and preached the gospel to many villages of the Samaritans.ਤਦ ਰਸੂਲਾਂ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਜੋ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਫ਼ਿਰ ਉਹ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵੱਲ ਪਰਤ ਆਏ। ਰਸਤੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਸਾਮਰਿਯਾ ਦੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖੁਸ਼ਖਬਰੀ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਗਏ।

26 But an angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza: the same is desert.ਫ਼ਿਲਿਪੁੱਸ ਦਾ ਹਬਸ਼ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਦੂਤ ਨੇ ਫ਼ਿਲਿਪੁੱਸ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ, ਅਤੇ ਦੂਤ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਉੱਠ ਅਤੇ ਦੱਖਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਉੱਪਰ ਜਾ ਜੋ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਤੋਂ ਗਾਜ਼ਾ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।”

27 And he arose and went: and behold, a man of Ethiopia, a eunuch of great authority under Candace, queen of the Ethiopians, who was over all her treasure, who had come to Jerusalem to worship;ਫ਼ਿਲਿਪੁੱਸ ਉੱਠਿਆ ਤੇ ਚੱਲਾ ਗਿਆ। ਰਸਤੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਹਬਸ਼ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵੇਖਿਆ। ਉਹ ਇੱਕ ਖੁਸਰਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਹਬਸ਼ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਰਾਣੀ, ਕੰਦਾਕੇ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਖਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਉਸ ਉੱਪਰ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ।

28 and he was returning and sitting in his chariot, and was reading the prophet Isaiah.ਹੁਣ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਾਪਸ ਪਰਤ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਰੱਥ ਤੇ ਅਸਵਾਰ ਯਸਾਯਾਹ ਨਬੀ ਦੀ ਪੋਥੀ ਪੜ੍ਹ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ।

29 And the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot.ਤਾਂ ਆਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਫ਼ਿਲਿਪੁੱਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਉਸ ਰੱਥ ਕੋਲ ਜਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਜ਼ਦੀਕ ਰਹਿ।”

30 And Philip ran to him, and heard him reading Isaiah the prophet, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?ਫ਼ੇਰ ਫ਼ਿਲਿਪੁੱਸ ਰੱਥ ਦੇ ਨਜ਼ਦੀਕ ਨੱਸਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉੱਥੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਯਸਾਯਾਹ ਨਬੀ ਦੀ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਪੜ੍ਹਦਿਆਂ ਸੁਣਿਆ। ਫ਼ਿਲਿਪੁੱਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਕੀ ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਪੜ੍ਹ ਰਿਹਾ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝ ਵੀ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ?”

31 And he said, How can I, except some one shall guide me? And he besought Philip to come up and sit with him.ਉਸ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਮੈਂ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਸਮਝ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ? ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਸਦੀ ਵਿਆਖਿਆ ਕਰਕੇ ਦੱਸੇ।” ਤਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਫ਼ਿਲਿਪੁੱਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਦਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਰੱਥ ਚ ਚੜ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਆਵੇ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਆਕੇ ਬੈਠੇ।

32 Now the passage of the Scripture which he was reading was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; And as a lamb before his shearer is dumb, So he openeth not his mouth:ਜੋ ਪੋਥੀ ਉਹ ਪੜ੍ਹ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਉਹ ਇਉਂ ਸੀ: “ਇਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਭੇਡ ਦੇ ਕਸਾਈ ਕੋਲ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਵਾਂਗ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਇੱਕ ਲੇਲੇ ਵਾਂਗ ਚੁੱਪ ਸੀ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਅੱਗੇ ਚੁੱਪ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਉਸਦੀ ਉੱਨ ਕੱਟਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਖੋਲ੍ਹਿਆ।

33 In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: His generation who shall declare? For his life is taken from the earth.ਉਹ ਸ਼ਰਮਸਾਰ ਸੀ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਖੋਹ ਲਏ ਸਨ। ਧਰਤੀ ਤੇ ਉਸਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਇੱਕ ਅੰਤ ਤੱਕ ਆ ਗਈ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਦੀ ਕਹਾਣੀ ਲਿਖਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਉੱਥੇ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।”

34 And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other?ਉਸ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਨੇ ਫ਼ਿਲਿਪੁੱਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੱਸੋ ਕਿ ਨਬੀ ਕਿਸਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ? ਆਪਣੀ ਜਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਦੀ?”

35 And Philip opened his mouth, and beginning from this Scripture, preached unto him Jesus.ਤਦ ਫ਼ਿਲਿਪੁੱਸ ਨੇ ਉਸੇ ਪੋਥੀ ਤੋਂ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੀ ਖੁਸ਼ਖਬਰੀ ਸੁਣਾਈ।

36 And as they went on the way, they came unto a certain water; and the eunuch saith, Behold, `here is' water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?ਰਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਉਹ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ ਤਾਂ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਵੇਖ। ਇੱਥੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਹੈ। ਹੁਣ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਲੈਣ ਤੋਂ ਕਿਹੜੀ ਚੀਜ਼ ਰੋਕਦੀ ਹੈ?”

37 `And Philip said, If thou believest with all thy heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.'

38 And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they both went down into the water, both Philip and the eunuch, and he baptized him.ਤਦ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਨੇ ਰੱਥ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਕਣ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਤਦ ਦੋਨੋ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ਿਲਿਪੁੱਸ ਪਾਣੀ ਕੋਲ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ਿਲਿਪੁੱਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

39 And when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip; and the eunuch saw him no more, for he went on his way rejoicing.ਜਦ ਉਹ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਆਏ ਤਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਆਤਮਾ ਫ਼ਿਲਿਪੁੱਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਕੜ ਕੇ ਲੈ ਗਿਆ ਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਉਹ ਖੁਸਰਾ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਮੁੜ ਫ਼ਿਲਿਪੁੱਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਵੇਖ ਸੱਕਿਆ ਤੇ ਉਹ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਰਾਹ ਚੱਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ। ਪਰ ਉਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਖੁਸ਼ ਸੀ।

40 But Philip was found at Azotus: and passing through he preached the gospel to all the cities, till he came to Caesarea.ਪਰ ਫ਼ਿਲਿਪੁੱਸ ਅਜ਼ੋਤੁਸ ਨਾਮੀ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਤੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਹੋਇਆ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਖੁਸ਼ਖਬਰੀ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਨਗਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਜ਼ੋਤੁਸ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਕੈਸਰੀਆ ਤੱਕ ਕੀਤਾ।
