Acts 17
1 ਪੌਲੁਸ ਅਤੇ ਸੀਲਾਸ ਥਸਲੁਨੀਕੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਦ ਉਹ ਅਮਫ਼ਿਪੁਲਿਸ ਅਤੇ ਅੱਪੁਲੋਨਿਯਾ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਲੰਘਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਥਸਲੁਨੀਕੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਏ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਕਿ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਸੀ।
2 ਪੌਲੁਸ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵਿੱਚਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਹਰ ਸਬਤ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਤਿੰਨ ਹਫ਼ਤਿਆਂ ਲਈ ਪੋਥੀਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ।
3 ਪੌਲੁਸ ਨੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪੋਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਸਤਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਮਝਾਇਆ ਤੇ ਸਾਬਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਮਸੀਹ ਨੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਭੋਗਣਾ ਹੀ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਮੁਰਦਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਜੀ ਉੱਠਣਾ ਸੀ। ਅਤੇ ਪੌਲੁਸ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਇਹ ਯਿਸੂ, ਜਿਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ, ਮਸੀਹ ਹੈ।”
4 ਕੁਝ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪੌਲੁਸ ਅਤੇ ਸੀਲਾਸ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਹੋਣ ਦਾ ਫ਼ੈਸਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ। ਬਹੁਤ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਣ ਯੂਨਾਨੀ ਆਦਮੀ ਅਤੇ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਵੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੀਆਂ ਜੋ ਸੱਚੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਸਨ। ਇਉਂ ਇੱਕ ਵੱਡੇ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਨੇ ਅਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਪੌਲੁਸ ਅਤੇ ਸੀਲਾਸ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਹੋ ਗਏ।
5 ਪਰ ਉਹ ਯਹੂਦੀ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਈਰਖਾ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕੁਝ ਭੈੜੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਚੋ ਭਾੜੇ ਤੇ ਲਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਭੈੜਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀ ਭੀੜ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਗਰ ਲਾ ਲਿਆ ਤੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੰਗੇ ਮਚਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ। ਉਹ ਯਾਸੋਨ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਭਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਗਏ ਤਾਂ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਣ।
6 ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੌਲੁਸ ਅਤੇ ਸੀਲਾਸ ਉੱਥੇ ਨਾ ਮਿਲੇ ਤਾਂ ਲੋਕ ਯਾਸੋਨ ਅਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਹੋਰ ਨਿਹਚਾਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖਿੱਚ ਕੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਲੈ ਆਏ ਅਤੇ ਡੰਡ ਪਾਉਣ ਲੱਗੇ ਕਿ, “ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਭ ਨੂੰ ਦੁੱਖੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ਤੇ ਹੁਣ ਉਹ ਇੱਥੇ ਵੀ ਆ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ ਹਨ।
7 ਯਾਸੋਨ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਲੁਕਾਅ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਉਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਕੈਸਰ ਦੇ ਨੇਮ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਹਨ। ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਉੱਥੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਹੋਰ ਰਾਜਾ ਹੈ।”
8 ਭੀੜ ਅਤੇ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਨੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਸੁਣੀਆਂ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਪਰੇਸ਼ਾਨ ਹੋ ਗਏ।
9 ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਾਸੋਨ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਨਿਹਚਾਵਾਨਾਂ ਤੇ ਜ਼ੁਰਮਾਨਾ ਲਗਾਇਆ ਤੇ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
10 ਪੌਲੁਸ ਅਤੇ ਸੀਲਾਸ ਦਾ ਬਰਿਯਾ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਾ ਉਸੇ ਰਾਤ ਨਿਹਚਾਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਪੌਲੁਸ ਅਤੇ ਸੀਲਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਰਿਯਾ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਭੇਜ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਜਦ ਉਹ ਉੱਥੇ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ ਤਾਂ ਉੱਥੇ ਉਹ ਯਹੂਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਤੇ ਗਏ।
11 ਏਥੋਂ ਦੇ ਯਹੂਦੀ ਥੱਸਲੁਨੀਕੇ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਚੰਗੇ ਸਨ। ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਸੁਣਕੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਖੁਸ਼ ਸਨ। ਅਤੇ ਬਰਿਯਾ ਦੇ ਯਹੂਦੀ ਰੋਜ਼ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪੋਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੜ੍ਹਦੇ ਕਿ ਵੇਖੀਏ ਜੋ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਸੱਚ ਹੈ ਜਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ।
12 ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਯਹੂਦੀ ਨਿਹਚਾਵਾਨ ਬਣ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਣ ਯੂਨਾਨੀ ਮਰਦ ਅਤੇ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਨਿਹਚਾਵਾਨ ਬਣ ਗਏ।
13 ਪਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਥੱਸਲੁਨੀਕੇ ਦੇ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਕਿ ਪੌਲੁਸ ਨੇ ਬਰਿਯਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਉੱਥੇ ਵੀ ਆ ਗਏ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਬਰਿਯਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੇਚੈਨੀ ਤੇ ਡਰ ਫ਼ੈਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
14 ਇਸ ਲਈ ਨਿਹਚਾਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਛੇਤੀ ਹੀ ਪੌਲੁਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਜ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਪਰ ਸੀਲਾਸ ਅਤੇ ਤਿਮੋਥਿਉਸ ਉੱਥੇ ਹੀ ਰਹੇ।
15 ਜਿਹੜੇ ਨਿਹਚਾਵਾਨ ਪੌਲੁਸ ਨਾਲ ਗਏ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਥੇਨੈ ਤੱਕ ਦੂਰ ਲੈ ਗਏ। ਫ਼ਿਰ ਉਹ ਬਰਿਯਾ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜਨ ਲਈ ਵਿਦਾ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਪੌਲੁਸ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸੀਲਾਸ ਅਤੇ ਤਿਮੋਥਿਉਸ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਗਏ, “ਜਿੰਨੀ ਛੇਤੀ ਹੋ ਸੱਕੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਹੋਣ ਲਈ ਆਓ।”
16 ਪੌਲੁਸ ਅਥੇਨੈ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੌਲੁਸ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਅਥੇਨੈ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੰਤਹਾਰ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਪਰ ਉਹ ਇਸ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਵੇਖਕੇ ਬੜਾ ਦੁੱਖੀ ਹੋਇਆ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਤਾਂ ਮੂਰਤਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
17 ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਯੂਨਾਨੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਸੱਚੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵੀ ਵਿੱਚਾਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਵਿਉਪਾਰੀ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ।
18 ਕੁਝ ਅਪਿਕੂਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਤੋਕਿਈ ਪੰਡਤਾਂ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਚਰਚਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਇਹ ਗੱਪੀ ਕਿਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਗੱਲ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ?” ਪੌਲੁਸ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਿਸੂ ਦਾ ਮੁਰਦਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਜੀ ਉੱਠਣ ਦੀ ਖੁਸ਼ਖਬਰੀ ਬਾਰੇ ਦੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਇਸਦਾ ਭਾਵ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਬੋਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।”
19 ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਪੌਲੁਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਰਿਯੁਪਗੁਸ ਦੀ ਸਭਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੈ ਆਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਹੁਣ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਨਵੇਂ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਵਿਆਖਿਆ ਕਰ ਜਿਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਤੂੰ ਬੋਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ।
20 ਅਸੀਂ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਕਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੁਣੀਆਂ, ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਤੂੰ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਹੁਣ ਦੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ। ਅਸੀਂ ਜਾਨਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਦਾ ਕੀ ਅਰਥ ਹੈ।”
21 (ਅਥੈਨੇ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਦੂਜੇ ਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ, ਜੋ ਅਥੈਨੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ, ਆਪਣਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਸਮਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਨਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਵਿੱਚਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੋਲਣ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਣਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਿਤਾਉਂਦੇ ਸਨ।)
22 ਤਦ ਪੌਲੁਸ ਅਰਿਯੁਪਗੁਸ ਦੀ ਸਭਾ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਹੇ ਅਥੈਨੇ ਦੇ ਪੁਰੱਖੋ। ਮੈਂ ਵੇਖ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਹਰ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਬੜੇ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਹੋ।
23 ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਰਾਹੀਂ, ਉਹ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਲੰਘ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋ, ਮੈਂ ਇੱਕ ਜਗਵੇਦੀ ਵੇਖੀ ਜਿਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਇਹ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ, ‘ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਲਈ, ਜੋ ਕਿ ਅਗਿਆਤ ਹੈ।’ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਉਸੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਬਾਰੇ ਦੱਸਣ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਜਾਣਿਆਂ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਂ।
24 “ਉਹੀ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹੈ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚਲੀ ਹਰ ਚੀਜ਼ ਦੀ ਰਚਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਸਵਰਗ ਤੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਬਣੇ ਮੰਦਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ।
25 ਇਹ ਉਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੀਵਨ, ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਮਦਦ ਦੀ ਵੀ ਕੋਈ ਲੋੜ ਨਹੀਂ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਕੋਲ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਹੈ ਜਿਸਦੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ਹੈ।
26 ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ, ਆਦਮ, ਦੀ ਰਚਨਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਿਰਜਣਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਰੀ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਣਾਇਆ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਨਿਸ਼ਚਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਹਰੇਕ ਕੌਮ ਨੂੰ ਕਿੰਨਾ ਚਿਰ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਚੰਗਾ ਕਿ ਕਿਸ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
27 “ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਲੋਕ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਖੋਜਣ। ਜੇਕਰ ਲੋਕ ਉਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਆਪਨੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਵੇਖਦੇ ਰਹਿਣਗੇ, ਸ਼ਾਇਦ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਭ ਲੈਣ। ਪਰ ਉਹ ਸਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕਿਲੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
28 ਅਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਾਂ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਤੁਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ, ਅਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹਾਂ। ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਕਵੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ ਹੈ, ‘ਅਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਹਾਂ।’
29 “ਅਸੀਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਹਾਂ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੋਚਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਕਿ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਕੁਝ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਲੋਕ ਸੋਚਦੇ ਜਾਂ ਬਣਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਸੋਨੇ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਜਾਂ ਪੱਥਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਬਣੀਆਂ ਮੂਰਤਾਂ ਵਰਗਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
30 ਪਹਿਲੇ ਸਮਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੋਕ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਮਝ ਸੱਕੇ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਧਿਆਨ ਨਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਪਰ ਹੁਣ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਹਰ ਇੱਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਬਦਲਣ ਅਤੇ ਤੌਬਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
31 ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਦਿਨ ਨਿਸ਼ਚਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦਿਨ ਉਹ ਇਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਿਆਂ ਕਰੇਗਾ। ਉਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਤਕਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰੇਗਾ। ਉਹ ਇਹ ਕੰਮ ਇੱਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਸੌਂਪੇਗਾ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਦੇਰ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਚੁਣਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਸਾਬਿਤ ਕਰਕੇ ਵੀ ਵਿਖਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਉਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਰਦਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਜਿਉਂਦਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਸਾਬਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।”
32 ਜਦੋਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਦਾ ਮੁਰਦਿਆਂ ਚੋਂ ਜੀ ਉੱਠਣ ਬਾਰੇ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਨੇ ਮਖੌਲ ਕੀਤਾ। ਲੋਕਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਅਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਹੋਰ ਵਿਸਤਾਰ ਤੇਰੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁਣਾਂਗੇ।”
33 ਇਸ ਲਈ ਪੌਲੁਸ ਉੱਥੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਚੱਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ।
34 ਪਰ ਕੁਝ ਲੋਕ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸੰਗ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਹਚਾਵਾਨ ਬਣ ਗਏ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਦਿਯਾਨੀਸਿਯੁਸ ਸੀ, ਜੋ ਅਰਿਯੁਪਗੀ ਸਭਾ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਸਦੱਸ ਸੀ। ਇੱਕ ਦਾਮਰਿਸ ਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਔਰਤ ਅਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਹੋਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਨਿਹਚਾ ਕੀਤਾ।
1 Now when they had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where was a synagogue of the Jews:
2 And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures,
3 Opening and alleging, that Christ must needs have suffered, and risen again from the dead; and that this Jesus, whom I preach unto you, is Christ.
4 And some of them believed, and consorted with Paul and Silas; and of the devout Greeks a great multitude, and of the chief women not a few.
5 But the Jews which believed not, moved with envy, took unto them certain lewd fellows of the baser sort, and gathered a company, and set all the city on an uproar, and assaulted the house of Jason, and sought to bring them out to the people.
6 And when they found them not, they drew Jason and certain brethren unto the rulers of the city, crying, These that have turned the world upside down are come hither also;
7 Whom Jason hath received: and these all do contrary to the decrees of Caesar, saying that there is another king, one Jesus.
8 And they troubled the people and the rulers of the city, when they heard these things.
9 And when they had taken security of Jason, and of the other, they let them go.
10 And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews.
11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
12 Therefore many of them believed; also of honourable women which were Greeks, and of men, not a few.
13 But when the Jews of Thessalonica had knowledge that the word of God was preached of Paul at Berea, they came thither also, and stirred up the people.
14 And then immediately the brethren sent away Paul to go as it were to the sea: but Silas and Timotheus abode there still.
15 And they that conducted Paul brought him unto Athens: and receiving a commandment unto Silas and Timotheus for to come to him with all speed, they departed.
16 Now while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was stirred in him, when he saw the city wholly given to idolatry.
17 Therefore disputed he in the synagogue with the Jews, and with the devout persons, and in the market daily with them that met with him.
18 Then certain philosophers of the Epicureans, and of the Stoicks, encountered him. And some said, What will this babbler say? other some, He seemeth to be a setter forth of strange gods: because he preached unto them Jesus, and the resurrection.
19 And they took him, and brought him unto Areopagus, saying, May we know what this new doctrine, whereof thou speakest, is?
20 For thou bringest certain strange things to our ears: we would know therefore what these things mean.
21 (For all the Athenians and strangers which were there spent their time in nothing else, but either to tell, or to hear some new thing.)
22 Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars’ hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious.
23 For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.
24 God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;
25 Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;
26 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;
27 That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:
28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.
29 Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man’s device.
30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:
31 Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.
32 And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked: and others said, We will hear thee again of this matter.
33 So Paul departed from among them.
34 Howbeit certain men clave unto him, and believed: among the which was Dionysius the Areopagite, and a woman named Damaris, and others with them.

1 ਪੌਲੁਸ ਅਤੇ ਬਰਨਬਾਸ ਇੱਕੋਨਿਯੁਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੌਲੁਸ ਅਤੇ ਬਰਨਬਾਸ ਤਦ ਇੱਕੋਦਿਯਾਮ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ। ਉੱਥੇ ਉਹ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਤੇ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ ਉਹ ਹਰ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਕੇ ਇਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇੰਨਾ ਵੱਧੀਆ ਬਚਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਯੂਨਾਨੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਕੀਤਾ।
And it came to pass in Iconium, that they went both together into the synagogue of the Jews, and so spake, that a great multitude both of the Jews and also of the Greeks believed.
2 ਪਰ ਕੁਝ ਯਹੂਦੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਨਾ ਕੀਤਾ, ਅਤੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਗੈਰ-ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੜਕਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਹਚਾਵਾਨਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜ਼ਹਿਰ ਭਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles, and made their minds evil affected against the brethren.

Long time therefore abode they speaking boldly in the Lord, which gave testimony unto the word of his grace, and granted signs and wonders to be done by their hands.
4 ਪਰ ਨਗਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਬਟਵਾਰਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ। ਕੁਝ ਲੋਕ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਹਿਮਤ ਹੋਣ ਲੱਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਪੌਲੁਸ ਅਤੇ ਬਰਨਬਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨਣ ਲੱਗੇ।
But the multitude of the city was divided: and part held with the Jews, and part with the apostles.
5 ਕੁਝ ਗੈਰ-ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ, ਕੁਝ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਨੇ ਪੌਲੁਸ ਅਤੇ ਬਰਨਬਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ ਇਹ ਲੋਕ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੱਥਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਰ ਮੁਕਾਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਸਨ।
And when there was an assault made both of the Gentiles, and also of the Jews with their rulers, to use them despitefully, and to stone them,
6 ਜਦੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗਾ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਨਗਰ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਲੁਕਾਉਨਿਯਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੁਸਤ੍ਰਾ ਅਤੇ ਦਰਬੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਆਸ-ਪਾਸ ਦੇ ਇਲਾਕਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੱਲੇ ਗਏ।
They were ware of it, and fled unto Lystra and Derbe, cities of Lycaonia, and unto the region that lieth round about:
7 ਉੱਥੇ ਜਾਕੇ ਇਹ ਖੁਸ਼ਖਬਰੀ ਬਾਰੇ ਪਰਚਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹੇ।
And there they preached the gospel.
8 ਪੌਲੁਸ-ਲੁਸਤ੍ਰਾ ਅਤੇ ਦਰਬੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੁਸਤ੍ਰਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਆਦਮੀ ਸੀ ਜਿਸਦੇ ਪੈਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਤਕਲੀਫ਼ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਜਮਾਂਦਰੂ ਹੀ ਲੰਗੜਾ ਸੀ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕਦੇ ਚੱਲ ਕੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਵੇਖਿਆ।
And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother’s womb, who never had walked:
9 ਇਹ ਆਦਮੀ ਉੱਥੇ ਬੈਠਾ ਪੌਲੁਸ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ ਸੁਣ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਪੌਲੁਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਤੇ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਜ਼ੀ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ
The same heard Paul speak: who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed,
10 ਇਸ ਲਈ ਪੌਲੁਸ ਉੱਚੀ ਬੋਲਿਆ, “ਆਪਣੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਤੇ ਖਲੋ ਜਾ।” ਉਹ ਆਦਮੀ ਉੱਥੋਂ ਕੁਦਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਸ-ਪਾਸ ਚੱਲਣਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked.
11 ਜਦੋਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਪੌਲੁਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਲੁਕਾਉਣਿਯਾ ਦੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਚਿਲਾਉਣ ਲੱਗੇ, “ਦੇਵਤੇ ਮਾਨਵ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਧਾਰਕੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਕੋਲ ਆਏ ਹਨ।”
And when the people saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voices, saying in the speech of Lycaonia, The gods are come down to us in the likeness of men.
12 ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਬਰਨਬਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਦਿਓਸ ਅਤੇ ਪੌਲੁਸ ਨੂੰ “ਹਰਮੇਸ” ਨਾਉਂ ਨਾਲ ਬੁਲਾਉਣਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤਾ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਇਹ ਬਚਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਗੂ ਸੀ।
And they called Barnabas, Jupiter; and Paul, Mercurius, because he was the chief speaker.
13 ਦਿਓਸ ਦਾ ਮੰਦਰ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਹੀ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਮੰਦਰ ਦਾ ਜਾਜਕ ਕੁਝ ਬਲਦ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ੁੱਲ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਫ਼ਾਟਕਾਂ ਤੇ ਲਿਆਇਆ। ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਪੌਲੁਸ ਅਤੇ ਬਰਨਬਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਲੀਆਂ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਸਨ।
Then the priest of Jupiter, which was before their city, brought oxen and garlands unto the gates, and would have done sacrifice with the people.
14 ਪਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਪੌਲੁਸ ਅਤੇ ਬਰਨਬਾਸ ਰਸੂਲਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਸਤਰ ਪਾੜੇ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਾਹਰ ਨੂੰ ਦੌੜ ਪਏ ਅਤੇ ਉੱਚੀ-ਉੱਚੀ ਚਿਲਾਉਣ ਲੱਗ ਪਏ,
Which when the apostles, Barnabas and Paul, heard of, they rent their clothes, and ran in among the people, crying out,
15 “ਹੇ ਪੁਰੱਖੋ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਹ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹੋ? ਅਸੀਂ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਾਂ। ਅਸੀਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਹੀ ਵਰਗੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹਾਂ। ਅਸੀਂ ਇੱਥੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਖੁਸ਼ਖਬਰੀ ਦੱਸਣ ਆਏ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਜਿਉਂਦੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਵੱਲ ਪਰਤਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਸਿਰਜਿਆ ਹੈ, ਧਰਤੀ, ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੀਵਨ ਸਿਰਜਿਆ ਹੈ।
And saying, Sirs, why do ye these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and preach unto you that ye should turn from these vanities unto the living God, which made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all things that are therein:
16 “ਪਿੱਛਲੇ ਸਮਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਕਰਨ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਚਾਹਾ।
Who in times past suffered all nations to walk in their own ways.
17 ਪਰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਕਾਰਜ ਕੀਤੇ ਜੋ ਦਿਖਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਚੰਗੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਤੋਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਬਰੱਖਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਹੀ ਵਕਤ ਤੇ ਫ਼ਸਲਾਂ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ। ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਖਾਣ ਲਈ ਬੇਸ਼ੁਮਾਰ ਅਨਾਜ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਦਿਲ ਖੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ।”
Nevertheless he left not himself without witness, in that he did good, and gave us rain from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.
18 ਪੌਲੁਸ ਅਤੇ ਬਰਨਬਾਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਹੀਆਂ, ਪਰ ਉਹ ਬੜੀ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਿਲ ਨਾਲ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਈ ਬਲੀਆਂ ਦੇਣ ਤੋਂ ਰੋਕ ਸੱਕੇ।
And with these sayings scarce restrained they the people, that they had not done sacrifice unto them.
19 ਫ਼ਿਰ ਕੁਝ ਯਹੂਦੀ ਅੰਤਾਕਿਯਾ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕੁਨਿਯੁਮ ਤੋਂ ਆਏ, ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੌਲੁਸ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਹੋ ਜਾਣ ਲਈ ਉਕਸਾਇਆ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪੌਲੁਸ ਤੇ ਪੱਥਰਾਵ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਸੋਚ ਕੇ ਧੂਹ ਕੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਸੁੱਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਕਿ ਉਹ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ।
And there came thither certain Jews from Antioch and Iconium, who persuaded the people, and, having stoned Paul, drew him out of the city, supposing he had been dead.
20 ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਪੌਲੁਸ ਦੇ ਆਸ-ਪਾਸ ਇੱਕਤਰ ਹੋਏ, ਉਹ ਉੱਠਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਨਗਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਪਸ ਚੱਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ। ਅਗਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਉਹ ਅਤੇ ਬਰਨਬਾਸ ਦਰਬੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੱਲੇ ਗਏ।
Howbeit, as the disciples stood round about him, he rose up, and came into the city: and the next day he departed with Barnabas to Derbe.
21 ਅੰਤਾਕਿਯਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਰਤਣਾ ਪੌਲੁਸ ਅਤੇ ਬਰਨਬਾਸ ਨੇ ਦਰਬੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਖੁਸ਼ਖਬਰੀ ਦਾ ਪਰਚਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ। ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਇੱਥੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਬਣ ਗਏ। ਉਹ ਦੋਨੋਂ ਲੁਸਤ੍ਰਾ, ਇੱਕੁਨਿਯੁਮ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਤਾਕਿਯਾ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਤੇ।
And when they had preached the gospel to that city, and had taught many, they returned again to Lystra, and to Iconium, and Antioch,
22 ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੌਲੁਸ ਅਤੇ ਬਰਨਬਾਸ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਕੜੇ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿਣ ਬਾਰੇ ਸਮਝਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਸਾਨੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਹਮਣਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਪਵੇਗਾ।”
Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.
23 ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਕਲੀਸਿਯਾ ਲਈ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਯੁਕਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਵਰਤ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਨਾਲ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਸੌਂਪ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਜਿਸਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਕੀਤਾ।
And when they had ordained them elders in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they believed.
24 ਤਦ ਉਹ ਦੋਨੋਂ ਪਿਸਿਦਿਯਾ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਦੀ ਲੰਘੇ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਫ਼ਲਿਯਾ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ।
And after they had passed throughout Pisidia, they came to Pamphylia.
25 ਫ਼ਿਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਪਰਗਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਉਹ ਅੰਤਾਕਿਯਾ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵੱਲ ਗਏ।
And when they had preached the word in Perga, they went down into Attalia:
26 ਉੱਥੋਂ ਤੋਂ, ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਹ ਦੋਨੋਂ ਅੰਤਾਕਿਯਾ ਨੂੰ ਗਏ। ਇਹ ਉਹੀ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਸੀ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਨਿਹਚਾਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨੂੰ ਸੌਂਪ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਭੇਜ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਹੁਣ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਕੰਮ ਪੂਰਨ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ।
And thence sailed to Antioch, from whence they had been recommended to the grace of God for the work which they fulfilled.
27 ਜਦੋਂ ਉੱਥੇ ਦੋਨੋਂ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਲੀਸਿਯਾ ਨੂੰ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਦੱਸੀਆਂ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਸਨ। ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ਾ ਖੋਲ੍ਹਿਆ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਗੈਰ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਵੀ ਨਿਹਚਾ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਣ।”
And when they were come, and had gathered the church together, they rehearsed all that God had done with them, and how he had opened the door of faith unto the Gentiles.
28 ਉੱਥੇ ਪੌਲੁਸ ਅਤੇ ਬਰਨਬਾਸ ਮਸੀਹ ਦੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਬਹੁਤ ਦਿਨ ਰਹੇ।
And there they abode long time with the disciples.
