Acts 12
1 ਹੇਰੋਦੇਸ ਅਗਰਿੱਪਾ ਦਾ ਕਲੀਸਿਯਾ ਨੂੰ ਤਸੀਹੇ ਦੇਣਾ ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ, ਰਾਜਾ ਹੇਰੋਦੇਸ ਨੇ ਕਲੀਸਿਯਾ ਦੇ ਕੁਝ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੰਡ ਦੇਣੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤੇ।
2 ਹੇਰੋਦੇਸ ਨੇ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਦੇ ਭਰਾ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਨੂੰ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਵੱਢ ਦੇਣ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
3 ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਤੰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪਤਰਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਗਿਰਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਨਿਸ਼ਚਾ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਹ ਘਟਨਾ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਛੁੱਟੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਸਾਹ ਦੇ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਹੋਈ।
4 ਹੇਰੋਦੇਸ ਨੇ ਪਤਰਸ ਨੂੰ ਗਿਰਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੈਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸੋਲਾਂ ਸਿਪਾਹੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸਦੀ ਨਿਗਰਾਨੀ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਨਿਯੁਕਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਹ ਪਸਾਹ ਦੇ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਦੇ ਲੰਘਣ ਦਾ ਇੰਤਜ਼ਾਰ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਪਤਰਸ ਨੂੰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਲਿਆਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ।
5 ਇਸ ਲਈ ਪਤਰਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੈਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ, ਪਰ ਨਿਹਚਾਵਾਨ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਅੱਗੇ ਉਸ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।
6 ਪਤਰਸ ਦਾ ਕੈਦ ਤੋਂ ਛੁਟਕਾਰਾ ਪਤਰਸ ਦੋ ਸਿਪਾਹੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚਕਾਰ ਸੁੱਤਾ ਪਿਆ ਸੀ, ਜੋ ਉਸਤੇ ਨਿਗਰਾਨੀ ਲਈ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਜੰਜ਼ੀਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਬੰਨ੍ਹਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਕੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਿਪਾਹੀ ਜੇਲ੍ਹ ਦੇ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ੇ ਤੇ ਚੌਕਸੀ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ। ਇਹ ਰਾਤ ਦਾ ਪਹਿਰ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਹੇਰੋਦੇਸ ਅਗਲੀ ਸਵੇਰ ਪਤਰਸ ਨੂੰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਦੀ ਵਿਉਂਤ ਬਣਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ।
7 ਅਚਾਨਕ ਉੱਥੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਦੂਤ ਪਰਗਟ ਹੋਇਆ। ਕਮਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੜੀ ਰੌਸ਼ਨੀ ਹੋਈ। ਦੂਤ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਸੇ ਤੋਂ ਛੋਹਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਗਾਇਆ। ਦੂਤ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਜਲਦੀ ਕਰ। ਉੱਠ।” ਪਤਰਸ ਦੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਚੋਂ ਜੰਜ਼ੀਰਾਂ ਟੁੱਟ ਗਈਆਂ।
8 ਦੂਤ ਨੇ ਪਤਰਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਆਪਣੇ ਕੱਪੜੇ ਪਹਿਨ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਜੁੱਤੀ ਪਾ।” ਪਤਰਸ ਨੇ ਇਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਕੀਤਾ। ਫ਼ਿਰ ਦੂਤ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਆਪਣਾ ਕੋਟ ਪਾਕੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਆਜਾ।”
9 ਇਉਂ ਦੂਤ ਚੱਲਾ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਪਤਰਸ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਹੋ ਲਿਆ। ਪਰ ਪਤਰਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ, ਜੋ ਦੂਤ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ, ਸੱਚਮੁੱਚ ਵਾਪਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸੋਚਿਆ ਕਿ ਸ਼ਾਇਦ ਉਹ ਇੱਕ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਦੇਖ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
10 ਤਦ ਉਹ ਦੋਨੋਂ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਪਹਿਰੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਦੀ ਨਿਕਲ ਕੇ ਇੱਕ ਲੋਹੇ ਦੇ ਫ਼ਾਟਕ ਤੱਕ ਆਏ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਕਿ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਉਂਦਾ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਹੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਈ ਖੁਲ੍ਹ ਗਿਆ ਉੱਥੋਂ ਨਿਕਲ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਇੱਕ ਗਲੀ ਦੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਤੇ ਤੁਰ ਪਏ ਪਰ ਉਸੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਦੂਤ ਉਸ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਅਲੋਪ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।
11 ਤਦ ਪਤਰਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝ ਆਇਆ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਕੀ ਵਾਪਰਿਆ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸੋਚਿਆ, “ਹੁਣ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਮਝ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਵਾਸਤਵ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਦੂਤ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਹੇਰੋਦੇਸ ਦੇ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਮੁਕਤ ਕਰਾਇਆ। ਯਹੂਦੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਸੋਚਿਆ ਸ਼ਾਇਦ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਬੁਰੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਵਾਪਰਨਗੀਆਂ, ਪਰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਭ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾ ਲਿਆ।”
12 ਜਦੋਂ ਪਤਰਸ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਕੀਤਾ, ਉਹ ਮਰਿਯਮ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਨੂੰ ਆਇਆ। ਉਹ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਦੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਸੀ। ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਮਰਕੁਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਵੀ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਸੀ। ਉੱਥੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।
13 ਪਤਰਸ ਨੇ ਬਾਹਰ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ੇ ਤੇ ਦਸਤਕ ਕੀਤੀ ਤਾਂ ਜਵਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਰੋਦੋ ਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਨੌਕਰਾਨੀ ਜਵਾਬ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਬਾਹਰ ਆਈ।
14 ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪਤਰਸ ਦੀ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਨੂੰ ਪਛਾਣ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਬੜੀ ਖੁਸ਼ ਹੋਈ। ਉਹ ਇੰਨੀ ਖੁਸ਼ ਹੋਈ ਕਿ ਮਾਰੇ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਦੇ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ਾ ਖੋਲ੍ਹਣਾ ਵੀ ਭੁੱਲ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਨੱਸਦੀ ਹੋਈ ਉਸ ਸਮੂਹ ਨੂੰ ਪਤਰਸ ਦੇ ਆਮਦ ਦੀ ਖਬਰ ਕਹਿਣ ਚਲੀ ਗਈ ਕਿ, “ਬਾਹਰ ਬੂਹੇ ਤੇ ਪਤਰਸ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਹੈ।”
15 ਨਿਹਚਾਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਰੋਦੋ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਤੂੰ ਕਮਲੀ ਹੈ।” ਪਰ ਉਹ ਬਾਰ-ਬਾਰ ਕਹਿੰਦੀ ਰਹੀ ਕਿ ਨਹੀਂ ਇਹ ਸੱਚ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੋਚਿਆ, “ਉਹ ਪਤਰਸ ਦਾ ਦੂਤ ਹੋਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।”
16 ਪਤਰਸ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਬੂਹਾ ਖੜਕਾਉਂਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ। ਜਦੋਂ ਨਿਹਚਾਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਬੂਹਾ ਖੋਲ੍ਹਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਪਤਰਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਕੇ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਰਹਿ ਗਏ।
17 ਪਤਰਸ ਨੇ ਹੱਥ ਦੇ ਇਸ਼ਾਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਾਇਆ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਖਾਮੋਸ਼ ਰਹਿਣ। ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਰੀ ਗੱਲ ਸਮਝਾਈ ਕਿ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜੇਲ੍ਹ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਕੱਢਣ ਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਯਾਕੂਬ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਭਾਈਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਖਬਰ ਦੇਵੋ।” ਉਸਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਪਤਰਸ ਹੋਰ ਥਾਂ ਚੱਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ।
18 ਅਗਲੀ ਸਵੇਰ ਸਿਪਾਹੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਪਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਹੋ ਗਏ। ਉਹ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਸਨ ਕਿ ਪਤਰਸ ਦਾ ਕੀ ਬਣਿਆ?
19 ਹੇਰੋਦੇਸ ਨੇ ਪਤਰਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਭ ਥਾਈਂ ਭਾਲਿਆ ਪਰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਤੇ ਨਾ ਮਿਲਿਆ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪਹਿਰੇਦਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਵਾਲ ਕੀਤੇ। ਫ਼ਿਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਜਾਣ। ਹੇਰੋਦੇਸ ਅਗਰਿੱਪਾ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਇਸਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਹੇਰੋਦੇਸ ਯਹੂਦਿਯਾ ਤੋਂ ਕੈਸਰਿਯਾ ਨੂੰ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉੱਥੇ ਕੁਝ ਸਮੇਂ ਲਈ ਜਾ ਠਹਿਰਿਆ।
20 ਹੇਰੋਦੇਸ ਸੂਰ ਅਤੇ ਸੈਦਾ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਬੜਾ ਨਾਰਾਜ਼ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋਕੇ ਹੇਰੋਦੇਸ ਕੋਲ ਆਏ। ਉਹ ਬਲਾਸਤੁਸ ਦੀ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਕਿ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਖਾਸ ਨੌਕਰ ਸੀ, ਹਮਾਇਤ ਪਾਉਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਮਯਾਬ ਹੋ ਗਏ। ਉਹ ਹੇਰੋਦੇਸ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਲਈ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗੇ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਦੇਸ਼ ਭੋਜਨ ਦੀ ਸਮਗਰੀ ਹੇਰੋਦੇਸ ਦੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਤੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ।
21 ਹੇਰੋਦੇਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਦਿਨ ਨਿਸ਼ਚਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਸ ਦਿਨ ਉਹ ਬੜੇ ਖੂਬਸੂਰਤ ਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਲਿਬਾਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਿੰਘਾਸਣ ਤੇ ਬੈਠਾ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
22 ਲੋਕ ਉੱਚੀ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਖਣ ਲੱਗੇ, “ਇਹ ਤਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੇਵੇਤੇ ਦੀ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਹੈ, ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ।”
23 ਹੇਰੋਦੇਸ ਨੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਨਾ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਇਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਕਬੂਲ ਕਰ ਲਈ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਦੂਤ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਬਿਮਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਉਹ ਬਿਮਾਰ ਪੈ ਗਿਆ ਤੇ ਅੰਤ ਕੀੜੇ ਪੈਕੇ ਮਰਿਆ।
24 ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿਨੋਂ-ਦਿਨ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਧ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਿਤ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਨਿਹਚਾਵਾਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਮੂਹ ਦਿਨੋ-ਦਿਨ ਵੱਧਦਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ।
25 ਜਦੋਂ ਬਰਨਬਾਸ ਅਤੇ ਸੌਲੁਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਕਾਰਜ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੂਰਾ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਰਕੁਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਵੀ ਸਦੀਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਅੰਤਾਕਿਯਾ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜੇ।
1 Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the church.
2 And he killed James the brother of John with the sword.
3 And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.)
4 And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people.
5 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.
6 And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison.
7 And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands.
8 And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me.
9 And he went out, and followed him; and wist not that it was true which was done by the angel; but thought he saw a vision.
10 When they were past the first and the second ward, they came unto the iron gate that leadeth unto the city; which opened to them of his own accord: and they went out, and passed on through one street; and forthwith the angel departed from him.
11 And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews.
12 And when he had considered the thing, he came to the house of Mary the mother of John, whose surname was Mark; where many were gathered together praying.
13 And as Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a damsel came to hearken, named Rhoda.
14 And when she knew Peter’s voice, she opened not the gate for gladness, but ran in, and told how Peter stood before the gate.
15 And they said unto her, Thou art mad. But she constantly affirmed that it was even so. Then said they, It is his angel.
16 But Peter continued knocking: and when they had opened the door, and saw him, they were astonished.
17 But he, beckoning unto them with the hand to hold their peace, declared unto them how the Lord had brought him out of the prison. And he said, Go shew these things unto James, and to the brethren. And he departed, and went into another place.
18 Now as soon as it was day, there was no small stir among the soldiers, what was become of Peter.
19 And when Herod had sought for him, and found him not, he examined the keepers, and commanded that they should be put to death. And he went down from Judaea to Caesarea, and there abode.
20 And Herod was highly displeased with them of Tyre and Sidon: but they came with one accord to him, and, having made Blastus the king’s chamberlain their friend, desired peace; because their country was nourished by the king’s country.
21 And upon a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat upon his throne, and made an oration unto them.
22 And the people gave a shout, saying, It is the voice of a god, and not of a man.
23 And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.
24 But the word of God grew and multiplied.
25 And Barnabas and Saul returned from Jerusalem, when they had fulfilled their ministry, and took with them John, whose surname was Mark.

1 ਪੌਲੁਸ ਅਤੇ ਬਰਨਬਾਸ ਇੱਕੋਨਿਯੁਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੌਲੁਸ ਅਤੇ ਬਰਨਬਾਸ ਤਦ ਇੱਕੋਦਿਯਾਮ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ। ਉੱਥੇ ਉਹ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਤੇ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ ਉਹ ਹਰ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਕੇ ਇਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇੰਨਾ ਵੱਧੀਆ ਬਚਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਯੂਨਾਨੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਕੀਤਾ।
And it came to pass in Iconium, that they went both together into the synagogue of the Jews, and so spake, that a great multitude both of the Jews and also of the Greeks believed.
2 ਪਰ ਕੁਝ ਯਹੂਦੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਨਾ ਕੀਤਾ, ਅਤੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਗੈਰ-ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੜਕਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਹਚਾਵਾਨਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜ਼ਹਿਰ ਭਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles, and made their minds evil affected against the brethren.
3 ਇਸ ਦੇ ਬਾਵਜੂਦ, ਪੌਲੁਸ ਅਤੇ ਬਰਨਬਾਸ ਬਹੁਤ ਦਿਨਾ ਲਈ ਇੱਕੋਨਿਯੁਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੁਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਰਭੈ ਹੋਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਬਾਰੇ ਬੋਲੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਕਰਾਮਾਤੀ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਅਚੰਭੇ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਯੋਗਤਾ ਦੇਕੇ ਸਾਬਤ ਕੀਤਾ।
Long time therefore abode they speaking boldly in the Lord, which gave testimony unto the word of his grace, and granted signs and wonders to be done by their hands.
4 ਪਰ ਨਗਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਬਟਵਾਰਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ। ਕੁਝ ਲੋਕ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਹਿਮਤ ਹੋਣ ਲੱਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਪੌਲੁਸ ਅਤੇ ਬਰਨਬਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨਣ ਲੱਗੇ।
But the multitude of the city was divided: and part held with the Jews, and part with the apostles.
5 ਕੁਝ ਗੈਰ-ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ, ਕੁਝ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਨੇ ਪੌਲੁਸ ਅਤੇ ਬਰਨਬਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ ਇਹ ਲੋਕ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੱਥਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਰ ਮੁਕਾਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਸਨ।
And when there was an assault made both of the Gentiles, and also of the Jews with their rulers, to use them despitefully, and to stone them,
6 ਜਦੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗਾ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਨਗਰ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਲੁਕਾਉਨਿਯਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੁਸਤ੍ਰਾ ਅਤੇ ਦਰਬੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਆਸ-ਪਾਸ ਦੇ ਇਲਾਕਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੱਲੇ ਗਏ।
They were ware of it, and fled unto Lystra and Derbe, cities of Lycaonia, and unto the region that lieth round about:
7 ਉੱਥੇ ਜਾਕੇ ਇਹ ਖੁਸ਼ਖਬਰੀ ਬਾਰੇ ਪਰਚਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹੇ।
And there they preached the gospel.
8 ਪੌਲੁਸ-ਲੁਸਤ੍ਰਾ ਅਤੇ ਦਰਬੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੁਸਤ੍ਰਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਆਦਮੀ ਸੀ ਜਿਸਦੇ ਪੈਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਤਕਲੀਫ਼ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਜਮਾਂਦਰੂ ਹੀ ਲੰਗੜਾ ਸੀ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕਦੇ ਚੱਲ ਕੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਵੇਖਿਆ।
And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother’s womb, who never had walked:
9 ਇਹ ਆਦਮੀ ਉੱਥੇ ਬੈਠਾ ਪੌਲੁਸ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ ਸੁਣ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਪੌਲੁਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਤੇ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਜ਼ੀ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ
The same heard Paul speak: who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed,
10 ਇਸ ਲਈ ਪੌਲੁਸ ਉੱਚੀ ਬੋਲਿਆ, “ਆਪਣੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਤੇ ਖਲੋ ਜਾ।” ਉਹ ਆਦਮੀ ਉੱਥੋਂ ਕੁਦਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਸ-ਪਾਸ ਚੱਲਣਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked.
11 ਜਦੋਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਪੌਲੁਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਲੁਕਾਉਣਿਯਾ ਦੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਚਿਲਾਉਣ ਲੱਗੇ, “ਦੇਵਤੇ ਮਾਨਵ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਧਾਰਕੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਕੋਲ ਆਏ ਹਨ।”
And when the people saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voices, saying in the speech of Lycaonia, The gods are come down to us in the likeness of men.
12 ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਬਰਨਬਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਦਿਓਸ ਅਤੇ ਪੌਲੁਸ ਨੂੰ “ਹਰਮੇਸ” ਨਾਉਂ ਨਾਲ ਬੁਲਾਉਣਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤਾ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਇਹ ਬਚਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਗੂ ਸੀ।
And they called Barnabas, Jupiter; and Paul, Mercurius, because he was the chief speaker.
13 ਦਿਓਸ ਦਾ ਮੰਦਰ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਹੀ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਮੰਦਰ ਦਾ ਜਾਜਕ ਕੁਝ ਬਲਦ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ੁੱਲ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਫ਼ਾਟਕਾਂ ਤੇ ਲਿਆਇਆ। ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਪੌਲੁਸ ਅਤੇ ਬਰਨਬਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਲੀਆਂ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਸਨ।
Then the priest of Jupiter, which was before their city, brought oxen and garlands unto the gates, and would have done sacrifice with the people.
14 ਪਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਪੌਲੁਸ ਅਤੇ ਬਰਨਬਾਸ ਰਸੂਲਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਸਤਰ ਪਾੜੇ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਾਹਰ ਨੂੰ ਦੌੜ ਪਏ ਅਤੇ ਉੱਚੀ-ਉੱਚੀ ਚਿਲਾਉਣ ਲੱਗ ਪਏ,
Which when the apostles, Barnabas and Paul, heard of, they rent their clothes, and ran in among the people, crying out,
15 “ਹੇ ਪੁਰੱਖੋ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਹ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹੋ? ਅਸੀਂ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਾਂ। ਅਸੀਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਹੀ ਵਰਗੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹਾਂ। ਅਸੀਂ ਇੱਥੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਖੁਸ਼ਖਬਰੀ ਦੱਸਣ ਆਏ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਜਿਉਂਦੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਵੱਲ ਪਰਤਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਸਿਰਜਿਆ ਹੈ, ਧਰਤੀ, ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੀਵਨ ਸਿਰਜਿਆ ਹੈ।
And saying, Sirs, why do ye these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and preach unto you that ye should turn from these vanities unto the living God, which made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all things that are therein:
16 “ਪਿੱਛਲੇ ਸਮਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਕਰਨ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਚਾਹਾ।
Who in times past suffered all nations to walk in their own ways.
17 ਪਰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਕਾਰਜ ਕੀਤੇ ਜੋ ਦਿਖਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਚੰਗੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਤੋਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਬਰੱਖਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਹੀ ਵਕਤ ਤੇ ਫ਼ਸਲਾਂ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ। ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਖਾਣ ਲਈ ਬੇਸ਼ੁਮਾਰ ਅਨਾਜ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਦਿਲ ਖੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ।”
Nevertheless he left not himself without witness, in that he did good, and gave us rain from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.
18 ਪੌਲੁਸ ਅਤੇ ਬਰਨਬਾਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਹੀਆਂ, ਪਰ ਉਹ ਬੜੀ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਿਲ ਨਾਲ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਈ ਬਲੀਆਂ ਦੇਣ ਤੋਂ ਰੋਕ ਸੱਕੇ।
And with these sayings scarce restrained they the people, that they had not done sacrifice unto them.
19 ਫ਼ਿਰ ਕੁਝ ਯਹੂਦੀ ਅੰਤਾਕਿਯਾ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕੁਨਿਯੁਮ ਤੋਂ ਆਏ, ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੌਲੁਸ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਹੋ ਜਾਣ ਲਈ ਉਕਸਾਇਆ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪੌਲੁਸ ਤੇ ਪੱਥਰਾਵ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਸੋਚ ਕੇ ਧੂਹ ਕੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਸੁੱਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਕਿ ਉਹ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ।
And there came thither certain Jews from Antioch and Iconium, who persuaded the people, and, having stoned Paul, drew him out of the city, supposing he had been dead.
20 ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਪੌਲੁਸ ਦੇ ਆਸ-ਪਾਸ ਇੱਕਤਰ ਹੋਏ, ਉਹ ਉੱਠਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਨਗਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਪਸ ਚੱਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ। ਅਗਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਉਹ ਅਤੇ ਬਰਨਬਾਸ ਦਰਬੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੱਲੇ ਗਏ।
Howbeit, as the disciples stood round about him, he rose up, and came into the city: and the next day he departed with Barnabas to Derbe.
21 ਅੰਤਾਕਿਯਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਰਤਣਾ ਪੌਲੁਸ ਅਤੇ ਬਰਨਬਾਸ ਨੇ ਦਰਬੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਖੁਸ਼ਖਬਰੀ ਦਾ ਪਰਚਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ। ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਇੱਥੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਬਣ ਗਏ। ਉਹ ਦੋਨੋਂ ਲੁਸਤ੍ਰਾ, ਇੱਕੁਨਿਯੁਮ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਤਾਕਿਯਾ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਤੇ।
And when they had preached the gospel to that city, and had taught many, they returned again to Lystra, and to Iconium, and Antioch,
22 ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੌਲੁਸ ਅਤੇ ਬਰਨਬਾਸ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਕੜੇ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿਣ ਬਾਰੇ ਸਮਝਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਸਾਨੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਹਮਣਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਪਵੇਗਾ।”
Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.
23 ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਕਲੀਸਿਯਾ ਲਈ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਯੁਕਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਵਰਤ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਨਾਲ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਸੌਂਪ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਜਿਸਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਕੀਤਾ।
And when they had ordained them elders in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they believed.
24 ਤਦ ਉਹ ਦੋਨੋਂ ਪਿਸਿਦਿਯਾ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਦੀ ਲੰਘੇ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਫ਼ਲਿਯਾ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ।
And after they had passed throughout Pisidia, they came to Pamphylia.
25 ਫ਼ਿਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਪਰਗਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਉਹ ਅੰਤਾਕਿਯਾ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵੱਲ ਗਏ।
And when they had preached the word in Perga, they went down into Attalia:
26 ਉੱਥੋਂ ਤੋਂ, ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਹ ਦੋਨੋਂ ਅੰਤਾਕਿਯਾ ਨੂੰ ਗਏ। ਇਹ ਉਹੀ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਸੀ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਨਿਹਚਾਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨੂੰ ਸੌਂਪ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਭੇਜ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਹੁਣ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਕੰਮ ਪੂਰਨ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ।
And thence sailed to Antioch, from whence they had been recommended to the grace of God for the work which they fulfilled.
27 ਜਦੋਂ ਉੱਥੇ ਦੋਨੋਂ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਲੀਸਿਯਾ ਨੂੰ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਦੱਸੀਆਂ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਸਨ। ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ਾ ਖੋਲ੍ਹਿਆ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਗੈਰ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਵੀ ਨਿਹਚਾ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਣ।”
And when they were come, and had gathered the church together, they rehearsed all that God had done with them, and how he had opened the door of faith unto the Gentiles.
28 ਉੱਥੇ ਪੌਲੁਸ ਅਤੇ ਬਰਨਬਾਸ ਮਸੀਹ ਦੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਬਹੁਤ ਦਿਨ ਰਹੇ।
And there they abode long time with the disciples.
