1 ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਅਤੇ ਮਸੀਹ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁੱਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਮਸੀਹ ਯਿਸੂ ਹੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਿਆਂ ਕਰੇਗਾ ਜੋ ਜਿਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਰ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਹਨ। ਉਸ ਕੋਲ ਇੱਕ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹਤ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਆਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ,

2 ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖੁਸ਼ਖਬਰੀ ਦਿਉ। ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਤਿਆਰ ਰਹੋ। ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਦੱਸੋ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਰਨੀਆਂ ਚਾਹੀਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਸੋ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਗਲਤੀ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਸਾਹਤ ਕਰੋ। ਇਹ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਬੜੇ ਸਬਰ ਅਤੇ ਸਚੇਤ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਨਾਲ ਕਰੋ।

3 ਇੱਕ ਸਮਾਂ ਆਵੇਗਾ ਜਦੋਂ ਲੋਕ ਸੱਚੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੁਣਨਗੇ। ਪਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਣਗੇ ਜੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖੁਸ਼ ਕਰਨਗੇ। ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਣਗੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਉਹੀ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਆਖਣਗੇ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਸੁਣਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।

4 ਲੋਕ ਸੱਚ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣਨਾ ਛੱਡ ਦੇਣਗੇ। ਉਹ ਮਨਘੜਤ ਕਥਾ ਕਹਾਣੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਤੇ ਅਮਲ ਕਰਨਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦੇਣਗੇ।

5 ਪਰ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਉੱਤੇ ਕਾਬੂ ਰੱਖਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਦੋਂ ਔਕੜਾਂ ਆਉਣ ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਔਕੜਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਹਮਣਾ ਕਰੋ। ਖੁਸ਼ਖਬਰੀ ਫ਼ੈਲਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਜ ਕਰੋ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਫ਼ਰਜ਼ ਨਿਭਾਓ।

6 ਮੇਰਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਭੇਟਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਜੀਵਨ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡਣ ਦਾ ਸਮਾਂ ਆ ਚੁੱਕਿਆ ਹੈ।

7 ਮੈਂ ਚੰਗਾ ਯੁੱਧ ਲੜਿਆ ਹਾਂ। ਮੈਂ ਦੌੜ ਪੂਰੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਸੱਚੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਦਾ ਅਨੁਸਰਣ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।

8 ਹੁਣ ਧਾਰਮਿਕਤਾ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਤਾਜ ਮੇਰੀ ਉਡੀਕ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਨਿਰਪੱਖ ਨਿਆਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦਿਨ ਉਹ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਤਾਜ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ। ਉਹ ਇਹ ਤਾਜ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ, ਸਗੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਤਾਂਘ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਆਉਣ ਦਾ ਇੰਤਜ਼ਾਰ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।

9 ਨਿਜ਼ੀ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਆਪਣੀ ਪੂਰੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰੋ ਅਤੇ ਜਲਦੀ ਤੋਂ ਜਲਦੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਆ ਜਾਓ।

10 ਦੇਮਾਸ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਪਿਆਰ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਹ ਥੱਸਲੁਨੀਕਿਯਾ ਚੱਲਾ ਗਿਆ। ਕਰੇਸੱਕੇਸ ਗਲਾਤਿਯਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੀਤੁਸ ਦਲਮਾਤੀਯਾ ਚੱਲਾ ਗਿਆ।

11 ਲੂਕਾ ਹੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਹਾਲੇ ਤੱਕ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੈ। ਜਦੋਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਓ ਤਾਂ ਮਰਕੁਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਨਾਲ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਆਉਣਾ। ਉਹ ਇੱਥੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ।

12 ਮੈਂ ਤੁਖਿਕੁਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਫ਼ਸੁਸ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਹੈ।

13 ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਤ੍ਰੋਆਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਉੱਥੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਕੋਟ ਕਾਰਪੁਸ ਕੋਲ ਛੱਡ ਆਇਆ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਓ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਲਿਆਉਂਦੇ ਆਉਣਾ। ਨਾਲੇ ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ ਵੀ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਆਉਣਾ। ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਭੇਡ ਦੀ ਖੱਲ ਉੱਪਰ ਲਿਖੀਆਂ ਸਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਲੋੜ ਹੈ।

14 ਸਿਕੰਦਰ ਠਠੇਰੇ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਹਾਨੀਆਂ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਹੀਆਂ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਿਕੰਦਰ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਦੀ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ।

15 ਤੁਸੀਂ ਹੋਸ਼ਿਆਰ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਕਿਧਰੇ ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਨਾ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਵੇ। ਉਹ ਸਾਡੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਡਟਕੇ ਲੜਿਆ।

16 ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਅਜ਼ਮਾਇਸ਼ ਵੇਲੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਬਚਾ ਕੀਤਾ, ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੋਈ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਗਿਆ। ਮੈਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਫ਼ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੇ।

17 ਔਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਉੱਥੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤਾਕਤ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਤਾਂ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੈਰ-ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਖੁਸ਼ਖਬਰੀ ਦੱਸ ਸੱਕਾਂ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੈਰ-ਯਹੂਦੀ ਉਸ ਖੁਸ਼ਖਬਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਨਣ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹੋਂ ਬਚਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ।

18 ਜਦੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੁਵਰਗੀ ਰਾਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੈ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਮਹਿਮਾ।

19 ਆਖਰੀ ਸ਼ੁਭਕਾਮਨਾਵਾਂ ਪਰਿਸੱਕਾ ਅਤੇ ਅਕੂਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਨੇਸਿਫ਼ੁਰੁਸ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਸ਼ੁਭਕਾਮਨਾਵਾਂ।

20 ਅਗਸਤੁਸ ਕੁਰਿੰਥੁਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਠਹਿਰ ਗਿਆ। ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਤ੍ਰੋਫ਼ਿਮੁਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲੇਤੁਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਛੱਡ ਆਇਆ। ਉਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਬਿਮਾਰ ਸੀ।

21 ਵੱਧ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰਨਾ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਰਦੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਆ ਸੱਕੋਂ। ਯਬੂਲੁਸ, ਪੂਦੇਸ, ਲੀਨੁਸ, ਕਲੋਦੀਆ ਅਤੇ ਮਸੀਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਰੇ ਭਰਾ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਸ਼ੁਭਕਾਮਨਾਵਾਂ ਭੇਜਦੇ ਹਨ।

22 ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਆਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਅੰਗ-ਸੰਗ ਹੋਵੇ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੋਵੇ।

1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;

2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

6 For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.

7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

9 Do thy diligence to come shortly unto me:

10 For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia.

11 Only Luke is with me. Take Mark, and bring him with thee: for he is profitable to me for the ministry.

12 And Tychicus have I sent to Ephesus.

13 The cloak that I left at Troas with Carpus, when thou comest, bring with thee, and the books, but especially the parchments.

14 Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil: the Lord reward him according to his works:

15 Of whom be thou ware also; for he hath greatly withstood our words.

16 At my first answer no man stood with me, but all men forsook me: I pray God that it may not be laid to their charge.

17 Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.

18 And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

19 Salute Prisca and Aquila, and the household of Onesiphorus.

20 Erastus abode at Corinth: but Trophimus have I left at Miletum sick.

21 Do thy diligence to come before winter. Eubulus greeteth thee, and Pudens, and Linus, and Claudia, and all the brethren.

22 The Lord Jesus Christ be with thy spirit. Grace be with you. Amen.

23 The second epistle unto Timotheus, ordained the first bishop of the church of the Ephesians, was written from Rome, when Paul was brought before Nero the second time.
