“ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਆਉ ਅਤੇ ਗਿਬਓਨ ਉੱਤੇ ਹਮਲਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰੋ। ਗਿਬਓਨ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਦਾ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।”

ਉਸ ਦਿਨ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਨੂੰ ਅਮੋਰੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਰਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਇਜਾਜ਼ਤ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦਿਨ ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਖਲੋ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ: “ਸੂਰਜ, ਰੁਕ ਜਾ ਗਿਬਓਨ ਉੱਤੇ। ਚੰਦਰਮਾ ਖਲੋ ਜਾ ਚੁੱਪ ਕਰਕੇ ਅੱਯਾਲੋਨ ਦੀ ਵਾਦੀ ਉੱਤੇ।”

ਅਬਸ਼ਾਲੋਮ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਹੂਸ਼ਈ ਅਰਕੀ ਦੀ ਸਲਾਹ ਅਹੀਥੋਫ਼ਲ ਦੀ ਸਲਾਹ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਚੰਗੀ ਹੈ।” ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਵਿਉਂਤ ਸੀ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਅਹੀਥੋਫ਼ਲ ਦੀ ਸਲਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਨਕਾਰਾ ਸਿੱਧ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਸਲਾਹ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਸੀ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਅਹੀਥੋਫ਼ਲ ਦੀ ਚੰਗੀ ਸਲਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਉਲਟਾ ਪਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਅੱਗੇ ਹੀ ਠਹਿਰਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਅਬਸ਼ਾਲੋਮ ਉੱਤੇ ਬੁਰਿਆਈ ਪਾਵੇ।
