ਪਰ ਜਿਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਇੱਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਰੁੱਖ ਵੱਢ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਕੁਹਾੜੀ ਦਾ ਫ਼ਲ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਿੱਗ ਪਿਆ। ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਚੀਖਿਆ, “ਓ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਕੁਹਾੜਾ ਮੰਗਵਾਂ ਲਿਆਂਦਾ ਸੀ।”

And the LORD called unto Moses, and spake unto him out of the tabernacle of the congregation, saying,

And the Lord	וַיִּקְרָ֖א	wayyiqrāʾ	va-yeek-RA
called	אֶל	ʾel	el
unto	מֹשֶׁ֑ה	mōše	moh-SHEH
Moses,	וַיְדַבֵּ֤ר	waydabbēr	vai-da-BARE
and spake	יְהוָה֙	yĕhwāh	yeh-VA
unto	אֵלָ֔יו	ʾēlāyw	ay-LAV
tabernacle the of out him	מֵאֹ֥הֶל	mēʾōhel	may-OH-hel
of the congregation,	מוֹעֵ֖ד	môʿēd	moh-ADE
saying,	לֵאמֹֽר׃	lēʾmōr	lay-MORE

But as one	וַיְהִ֤י	wayhî	vai-HEE
was	הָֽאֶחָד֙	hāʾeḥād	ha-eh-HAHD
felling	מַפִּ֣יל	mappîl	ma-PEEL
beam, a	הַקּוֹרָ֔ה	haqqôrâ	ha-koh-RA
the axe head	וְאֶת	wĕʾet	veh-ET
fell	הַבַּרְזֶ֖ל	habbarzel	ha-bahr-ZEL
into	נָפַ֣ל	nāpal	na-FAHL
water: the	אֶל	ʾel	el
and he cried,	הַמָּ֑יִם	hammāyim	ha-MA-yeem
and said,	וַיִּצְעַ֥ק	wayyiṣʿaq	va-yeets-AK
Alas,	וַיֹּ֛אמֶר	wayyōʾmer	va-YOH-mer
master!	אֲהָ֥הּ	ʾăhāh	uh-HA
for it	אֲדֹנִ֖י	ʾădōnî	uh-doh-NEE
was borrowed.	וְה֥וּא	wĕhûʾ	veh-HOO
	שָׁאֽוּל׃	šāʾûl	sha-OOL
