ਤਦ ਅਲੀਸ਼ਾ ਨੇ ਗੇਹਾਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਤਿਆਰ ਹੋ, ਮੇਰੀ ਲਾਠੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਫ਼ੜ ਕੇ ਜਾਹ। ਰਾਹ ’ਚ ਕਿਸੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਨਾ ਰੁਕੀ ਜੇਕਰ ਰਾਹ ’ਚ ਕੋਈ ਸ਼ੁਭਕਾਮਨਵਾਂ ਦੇਵੇ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ੁਭਕਾਮਨਵਾਂ ਨਾ ਦੇਵੀਂ। ਫੇਰ ਮੇਰੀ ਸੋਟੀ ਬੱਚੇ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਾ ਦੇਵੀ ਜੇਕਰ ਰਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਕੁਝ ਪੁੱਛੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਤਰ ਨਾ ਦੇਵੀਂ।”

to Gehazi,	לְגֵֽיחֲזִ֜י	lĕgêḥăzî	leh-ɡay-huh-ZEE
up Gird	חֲגֹ֣ר	ḥăgōr	huh-ɡORE
thy loins,	מָתְנֶ֗יךָ	motnêkā	mote-NAY-ha
and take	וְקַ֨ח	wĕqaḥ	veh-KAHK
staff my	מִשְׁעַנְתִּ֣י	mišʿantî	meesh-an-TEE
in thine hand,	בְיָֽדְךָ֮	bĕyādĕkā	veh-ya-deh-HA
way: thy go and	וָלֵךְ֒	wālēk	va-lake
if	כִּֽי	kî	kee
thou meet	תִמְצָ֥א	timṣāʾ	teem-TSA
man, any	אִישׁ֙	ʾîš	eesh
