1 Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign; and he reigned fifty-five years in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Hephzibah.ਮਨੱਸ਼ਹ ਦਾ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਉੱਪਰ ਭੈੜਾ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਨਾ ਮਨੱਸ਼ਹ 12 ਸਾਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੀ ਜਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਨਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ 55ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਰਾਜ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਸਦੀ ਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਹਫ਼ਸੀਬਾਹ ਸੀ।

2 He did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, after the abominations of the nations whom Yahweh cast out before the children of Israel.ਮਨੱਸ਼ਹ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਉਹੀ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਗ਼ਲਤ ਸਨ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਬਾਕੀ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਹੀ ਭੈੜੇ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀ ਆਏ ਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਹਰ ਕੱਢ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

3 For he built again the high places which Hezekiah his father had destroyed; and he reared up altars for Baal, and made an Asherah, as did Ahab king of Israel, and worshiped all the host of the sky, and served them.ਮਨੱਸ਼ਹ ਨੇ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਉੱਚੀਆਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਣਾਇਆ। ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਹਿਜ਼ਕੀਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਕਰਵਾਈਆਂ ਸਨ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੁੜ ਤੋਂ ਜਗਵੇਦੀਆਂ, ਬਆਲ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਲਈ ਬਣਵਾਈਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਅਸ਼ੀਰਾਹ ਦੇ ਟੁੰਡ (ਖੰਭ) ਬਣਵਾਏ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਅਹਾਬ ਨੇ ਬਣਵਾਏ ਸਨ। ਮਨੱਸ਼ਹ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਰਗੀ ਲਸ਼ਕਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੱਥਾ ਟੇਕਿਆ ਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ।

4 He built altars in the house of Yahweh, of which Yahweh said, In Jerusalem will I put my name.ਮਨੱਸ਼ਹ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਝੂਠੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਨਮਾਨ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਜਗਵੇਦੀਆਂ ਬਣਵਾਈਆਂ। ਇਹ ਉਹੀ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਗੱਲ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ, ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਆਖਿਆ ਸੀ, “ਮੈਂ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਂ ਰੱਖਾਂਗਾ।”

5 He built altars for all the host of the sky in the two courts of the house of Yahweh.ਮਨੱਸ਼ਹ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਦੋਨੋ ਵਿਹੜਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਲਸ਼ਕਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਜਗਵੇਦੀਆਂ ਬਣਾਈਆਂ।

6 He made his son to pass through the fire, and practiced sorcery, and used enchantments, and dealt with those who had familiar spirits, and with wizards: he worked much evil in the sight of Yahweh, to provoke him to anger.ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਦੀ ਲੰਘਾਇਆ। ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਨਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਵੱਖੋ-ਵੱਖ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਅਪਣਾਏ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਟੂਣੇ-ਟੋਟਕੇ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਜਾਦੂਗਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵਾਸਤਾ ਰੱਖਿਆ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਬਦ-ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਕੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਗ਼ਲਤ ਮੰਨਦਾ ਸੀ।

7 He set the engraved image of Asherah, that he had made, in the house of which Yahweh said to David and to Solomon his son, In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, will I put my name forever;ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਘੜੀ ਹੋਈ ਅਸ਼ੇਰਾਹ ਦੀ ਮੂਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਧਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਦਾਊਦ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਮੰਦਰ ਬਾਰੇ ਆਖਿਆ ਸੀ ਕਿ, “ਮੈਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਨੂੰ ਚੁਣਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਲਈ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਂ ਰੱਖਾਂਗਾ।

8 neither will I cause the feet of Israel to wander any more out of the land which I gave their fathers, if only they will observe to do according to all that I have commanded them, and according to all the law that my servant Moses commanded them.ਮੈਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਭਟਕਣ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੀ, ਜੇਕਰ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਹੁਕਮਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਆਗਿਆਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ ਪੂਰਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਸਦਾ ਪਾਲਨ ਕਰਨ।”

9 But they didn't listen: and Manasseh seduced them to do that which is evil more than did the nations whom Yahweh destroyed before the children of Israel.ਪਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਨਾ ਸੁਣੀ। ਮਨੱਸ਼ਹ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੀ ਭੈੜੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਵਾਏ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੀ ਖਾਤਰ ਤਬਾਹ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ।

10 Yahweh spoke by his servants the prophets, saying,ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ, ਨਬੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਆਖਣ ਲਈ ਭੇਜਿਆ:

11 Because Manasseh king of Judah has done these abominations, and has done wickedly above all that the Amorites did, who were before him, and has made Judah also to sin with his idols;“ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਮਨੱਸ਼ਹ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਬੁਰੇ ਘਿਰਣਾ ਯੋਗ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਅਮੋਰੀਆਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਸਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਵੱਧਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਭੈੜੇ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ। ਇੰਨਾਂ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਗੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਬਣਾਏ ਹੋਏ ਬੁੱਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਪਾਪ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਹੈ।

12 therefore thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel, Behold, I bring such evil on Jerusalem and Judah, that whoever hears of it, both his ears shall tingle.ਇਸ ਲਈ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ‘ਵੇਖੋ! ਮੈਂ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਲਈ ਮੁਸੀਬਤਾਂ ਲਿਆਵਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਵੀ ਕੋਈ ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਸੁਣੇਗਾ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਉਹ ਹੈਰਾਨਕੁਨ ਰਹਿ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।

13 I will stretch over Jerusalem the line of Samaria, and the plummet of the house of Ahab; and I will wipe Jerusalem as a man wipes a dish, wiping it and turning it upside down.ਮੈਂ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਉੱਪਰ ਉਹ ਮਾਪਕ ਲਕੀਰ ਖਿੱਚਾਗਾਂ ਜੋ ਸਾਮਰਿਯਾ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਵਰਤੀ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਸਾਹਲ ਜੋ ਮੈ ਆਹਾਬ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਵਰਤੀ ਸੀ। ਮੈਂ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਨੂੰ ਪਲਟ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਭਾਂਡਾ ਪੂੰਝ ਕੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੂਧਾ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।

14 I will cast off the remnant of my inheritance, and deliver them into the hand of their enemies; and they shall become a prey and a spoil to all their enemies;ਉੱਥੋਂ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਭੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੁਝ ਲੋਕ ਬਚੇ ਰਹਿਣਗੇ, ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ, ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਹਵਾਲੇ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੰਦੀ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਰੱਖਣਗੇ ਤੇ ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਈ ਜੰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਕੀਮਤੀ ਵਸਤਾਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਹੋਣਗੇ!

15 because they have done that which is evil in my sight, and have provoked me to anger, since the day their fathers came forth out of Egypt, even to this day.ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਵਰਜਿਆ ਜਾਂ ਮਾੜਾ ਕਰਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਰਾਜ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਦ ਤੋਂ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੁਰਖੇ ਮਿਸਰ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਨਿਕਲੇ।

16 Moreover Manasseh shed innocent blood very much, until he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another; besides his sin with which he made Judah to sin, in doing that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh.ਮਨੱਸਹ ਨੇ ਬੜੇ ਮਾਸੂਮ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਕਤਲ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਸਿਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਜੇ ਸਿਰੇ ਤੀਕ ਸਾਰੀ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਨੂੰ ਖੂਨ ਨਾਲ ਲਬਰੇਜ਼ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਨੱਸ਼ਹ ਨੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਉਹ ਪਾਪ ਕਰਵਾਏ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੁਰੇ ਲੱਗਣ।’”

17 Now the rest of the acts of Manasseh, and all that he did, and his sin that he sinned, aren't they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?ਮਨੱਸ਼ਹ ਨੇ ਜੋ ਵੀ ਪਾਪ ਕੀਤੇ, ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਉਸ ਕੀਤੇ ਸਭ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਇਤਹਾਸ ਦੀ ਪੋਥੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਰਜ ਹਨ।

18 Manasseh slept with his fathers, and was buried in the garden of his own house, in the garden of Uzza: and Amon his son reigned in his place.ਮਨੱਸ਼ਹ ਜਦੋਂ ਮਰਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਮਰਨ ਉਪਰੰਤ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਹੀ ਦਫ਼ਨਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ। ਮਨੱਸ਼ਹ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਘਰਦੇ ਬਾਗ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਦਫ਼ਨਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਜੋ ਕਿ “ਉੱਜ਼ਾ ਦਾ ਬਾਗ਼” ਕਹਾਉਂਦਾ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਉਪਰੰਤ ਉਸਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਆਮੋਨ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗਾ।

19 Amon was twenty-two years old when he began to reign; and he reigned two years in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Meshullemeth the daughter of Haruz of Jotbah.ਆਮੋਨ ਦਾ ਥੋੜੀ ਦੇਰ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਨਾ ਆਮੋਨ ਜਦੋਂ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗਾ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ 22 ਵਰ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੋ ਸਾਲ ਰਾਜ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਸਦੀ ਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਮਸ਼ੁੱਲਮਥ ਸੀ ਜੋ ਯਾਟਬਾਹੀ ਦੀ ਹਾਰੂਸ਼ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਸੀ।

20 He did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, as did Manasseh his father.ਆਮੋਨ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਵਾਂਗ ਉਹ ਗ਼ਲਤ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤੇ। ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਭੈੜੇ ਸਨ।

21 He walked in all the way that his father walked in, and served the idols that his father served, and worshiped them:ਆਮੋਨ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਉ ਵਾਂਗ ਹੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬੁੱਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਸੇਵਾ ਕੀਤੀ।

22 and he forsook Yahweh, the God of his fathers, and didn't walk in the way of Yahweh.ਉਸ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਓਵੇਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿਆ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਸੀ।

23 The servants of Amon conspired against him, and put the king to death in his own house.ਆਮੋਨ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਮਤਾ ਪਕਾ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਵੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੀ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ।

24 But the people of the land killed all those who had conspired against king Amon; and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his place.ਪਰ ਉਸ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਛੱਡਿਆ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਮੋਨ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਵਿਉਂਤ ਬਣਾਈ ਸੀ। ਫ਼ਿਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਮੋਨ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯੋਸੀਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਨਵਾਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਬਣਾਇਆ।

25 Now the rest of the acts of Amon which he did, aren't they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?ਆਮੋਨ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਹੋਰ ਬਾਕੀ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਪਤਸ਼ਾਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਇਤਹਾਸ ਦੀ ਪੋਥੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਖੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।

26 He was buried in his tomb in the garden of Uzza: and Josiah his son reigned in his place.ਆਮੋਨ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਜ਼ਾ ਦੇ ਬਾਗ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਦਫ਼ਨਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਉਪਰੰਤ ਉਸਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯੋਸੀਯਾਹ ਨਵਾਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਬਣਿਆ।
