ਤਦ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਯਹੋਆਸ਼ ਨੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਅਮਸਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਜਵਾਬ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਲਬਾਨੋਨ ਦੀ ਛੋਟੀ ਜਿਹੀ ਕੰਡਿਆਲੀ ਝਾੜੀ ਨੇ ਲਬਾਨੋਨ ਦੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲ ਰੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਨੇਹਾ ਭੇਜਿਆ: ‘ਆਪਣੀ ਧੀ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਦੇ।’ ਪਰ ਇੱਕ ਜੰਗਲੀ ਜਾਨਵਰ ਜੋ ਲਬਾਨੋਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੀ ਛੋਟੀ ਕੰਡਿਆਲੀ ਝਾੜੀ ਤੋਂ ਦੀ ਲੰਘਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਿੱਧ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ।

ਤਦ ਅਮਸਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਇਫ਼ਰਾਈਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਪਸ ਭੇਜ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਹ ਆਦਮੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਬੜੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਿਤ ਹੋਏ ਅਤੇ ਬੜੇ ਕਰੋਧ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜੇ।

2 Samuel 12:1
ਨਾਥਾਨ ਦਾ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੂੰ ਝਿੜਕਣਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਨਾਥਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਭੇਜਿਆ। ਨਾਥਾਨ ਨੇ ਦਾਊਦ ਕੋਲ ਆਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਅਮੀਰ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਦੂਜਾ ਗਰੀਬ।
1 Samuel 13:6
ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਗਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਮੂਸੀਬਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਫ਼ਸੇ ਹੋਏ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਖੁੰਦਰਾਂ, ਝਾੜੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਫ਼ਾਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹਾੜਾ ਦੇ ਇੱਧਰ-ਉੱਧਰ ਅਹੁਲਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਲੁਕਣ ਲੱਗੇ। ਸਗੋਂ ਉਹ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਉੱਤੇ ਵੀ ਉਸਤੋਂ ਥੱਲੇ ਗੜ੍ਹਿਆਂ ’ਚ ਖੂਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਟੋਇਆਂ ਆਦਿ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੁਕ ਗਏ।
