ਏਲੀਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਅਹਜ਼ਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਇਉਂ ਫ਼ਰਮਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ‘ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਹੁੰਦਿਆਂ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਤੂੰ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ਵਾਹਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਕਰੋਨ ਦੇ ਦੇਵਤੇ, ਬਆਲ-ਜਬੂਲ ਕੋਲ ਸਵਾਲ ਪੁੱਛਣ ਲਈ ਕਿਉਂ ਭੇਜਿਆ? ਇਸ ਲਈ ਜਿਸ ਪਲੰਘ ਉੱਪਰ ਤੂੰ ਪਿਆ ਹੈਂ, ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਨਾ ਉਤਰੇਂਗਾ, ਅਸਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੂੰ ਇਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੀ ਮਰੇਂਗਾ।’”

of Israel	יִקַּ֛ח	yiqqaḥ	yee-KAHK

unto	אֵלָ֜יו	ʾēlāyw	ay-LAV
him, Thus	כֹּֽה	kō	koh
saith	אָמַ֣ר	ʾāmar	ah-MAHR
the Lord,	יְהוָ֗ה	yĕhwâ	yeh-VA
Forasmuch as	יַ֜עַן	yaʿan	YA-an
	אֲשֶׁר	ʾăšer	uh-SHER
sent hast thou	שָׁלַ֣חְתָּ	šālaḥtā	sha-LAHK-ta
messengers	מַלְאָכִים֮	malʾākîm	mahl-ah-HEEM
to inquire	לִדְרֹשׁ֮	lidrōš	leed-ROHSH
of Baal-zebub	בְּבַ֣עַל	bĕbaʿal	beh-VA-al
god the	זְבוּב֮	zĕbûb	zeh-VOOV
of Ekron,	אֱלֹהֵ֣י	ʾĕlōhê	ay-loh-HAY
is it not because	עֶקְרוֹן֒	ʿeqrôn	ek-RONE
no is there	הַֽמִבְּלִ֤י	hamibbĕlî	ha-mee-beh-LEE
God	אֵין	ʾên	ane
in Israel	אֱלֹהִים֙	ʾĕlōhîm	ay-loh-HEEM
to inquire	בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל	bĕyiśrāʾēl	beh-yees-ra-ALE
word? his of	לִדְרֹ֖שׁ	lidrōš	leed-ROHSH
therefore	בִּדְבָר֑וֹ	bidbārô	beed-va-ROH
thou shalt not	לָ֠כֵן	lākēn	LA-hane
down come	הַמִּטָּ֞ה	hammiṭṭâ	ha-mee-TA
off	אֲשֶׁר	ʾăšer	uh-SHER
that bed	עָלִ֥יתָ	ʿālîtā	ah-LEE-ta
